Sadly a lot of poverty games stay alive with the small community or more like it is barley staying alive
Thank you for going beyond the surface, and diving deeper! MvCi gets an exagerrated bad rap for many things that other games were allowed to move past. It has its issues, but it really is a fun game with a dedicated community.

Akshon Esports deserves more success for doing stuff like this. Thescore just covers drama on Twitch and has millions of subs
Nan man MVCI might have the best gameplay of the franchise, but it deserved all the shit it got. The bad music, lack of artstyle, awful AWFUL story mode and of course the lacking roster was more than enough to deserve it. What really killed it however was the terrible communication surrounding the game. The "characters are just fonctions" meme, while being funny in itself, showed the disregard to the characters that would make it in this game. It was apparent that the people who made this game made it for all the wrong reasons.
I always try to convince ppl to mvci mvci a try and everybody who does actually really likes it.

Now we know why MVCI was so bad, the devs put in so much resources to give the impossible; GOOD INTERNET
Yet games like Skullgirls and Them's Fightin' Herds exists and they did more than the shitty MvCI devs did with a great netcode (better than MvCI)
Which Arc System Works learn from them and are gonna do the same with Guilty Gear Strive and the devs of Melty Blood with their new game
@@androidps1440 I don't disagree with you, but if you get your priorities wrong, (Like focusing on good internet too much), it can lead to the downfall of a game that had a good idea. Also, it's really funny to think that a game with very little effort put into it was bad entirely because it focused on having good internet and nothing else.

Agreed, so nice to see it got such a happy ending! Especially with the online!
I’m glad people get to enjoy it.
But personally, mechanics aren’t the only thing that matter to me in a game. Characters are very important to me. If there is a new game of a franchise I like without the characters I like, I wouldn’t want to spend time on it.
You should check out Professor Thorgi's Marvel vs Capcom 4 build the roster, Minus some issues (he'll explain Chun-Li and Thor in the second video, but he put a ton of thought into characters, stages, costumes, story, arcade, boss rush, interactions, everything)

ruclips.net/video/6h-8T8B2nk/видео.html
You aren't wrong for feeling that way, the characters are the most integral part to a game that's supoosed to be a crossover between two major franchises
Thats a huge selling point to casual fanbase is roster size. Gameplay is important, but thats not always their main focus. And in team fighters its more mandatory to have bigger rosters.
Also presentation is super important for fighters. MvCi was just so bland with mixed voice acting, bland art direction and subpar roster. Shame as yes, the engine is great and I think the 2v2 works better than 3v3. I hope it gets another chance with a strong art direction and more "out there" roster picks, especially on the Capcom side, which have been "meh" with both UMvC3 and MvCi
People are really stupid if they can not enjoy any of the characters. Roster was big enough. You must like more than 1 character out of the cast.
The only reason I keep playing Marvel Infinite is its fucking good netcode. Never before have I played a fighting game this fucking smooth since Skullgirls.
Just curious, how does it compare with the ggxac+r rollback netcode? I'm also interested in trying it but there seems to be less people playing in ASIA rather than NA/EU

Rewatched the first MVC video yesterday so this was a pleasant surprise.
A fascinating twist and development for this game and it's scene. That Battle of the Mortals ideas is an ingenious one and this is a great video summing the things that have happened with MvCI.
How can you revive something that was never alive?
It has no soul, it has no heart. Just mechanics. While the entire VS series previously has so much artstyle so much heart and soul, the great music.. just turning on MvC1 or mvc2 is fn cool.
@@pizzahighfive2612 You say it has no soul, but then you mention MVC2 that has a lot of reused sprites in unfitting stages with jazz in the background, what kind of soul is that?
Also, the music was good and it didn't have any artwork to compare to other thing.
@@Protosilver97 Yeah, that music was pretty terrible, but I would agree that Marvel vs Capcom Infinite was never truly alive in how a fighting game of its calibur normally would be. People gave up on it as soon as it was removed from EVO mainstage, but at least some of the big names stuck with it for a bit (except I think Justin Wong left as soon as possible because he does not like to do passion projects and dominated pretty much everyone).
@@sigurdtheblue Yeah, you are right.

I had the game on PS4 along with the rerelease of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Both of which I had abandoned for a long time.

Huge shoutout to Don and The Gauntlet for putting Nova Scotia on the map
This also happened with Umvc3 where it also had a bad launch because it came out less than a year and people complained about the roster due it missing characters from mvc2.
Which was kind of a shame too because Niitsuma wanted to make Marvel vs Capcom 3 even better than 2, cuz the tohoku earthquake stopped development. But to be fair a lot of people forget MVC3 vanilla brought a whooping _*21 NEWCOMERS to the series: Deadpool, Dormmamu, MODOK, Wesker, C Viper, Trish, Viewtiful Joe, Zero, Amaterasu, Dante, She-Hulk, Super Skrull, X 23, Taskmaster, flipping Thor, ZERO, *_ and when you compare it to Infinite only having 6 (Captain Marvel, Gamora, Thanos, Ultron, X, Jedah) at launch, it's kinda odd. But I do feel bad for the Capcom devs that actually tried to put some love and care. I even feel bad for Combofiend for a bit since he was stuck between a Mega Buster and a Optic Blast
@@sxwriter8569 people complained about how mvc3 roster was full of new comers compared to mvc2. Like how dare they put in “obscure” characters like rocket raccoon , Thor, Deadpool etc over cyclops, gambit , venom. Ironically those characters get more exposure and media over the characters people wanted from mvc2 now.
And that, people, is the power of *good netcode*
I really love the gameplay of mvci! It's not the assist heavy game that MVC2 and UMVC3 was, it was a throwback to the earlier capcom vs games but much more refined and fluid. The infinity gems are balanced as well compared to X-Factor. It's just that the roster was really lacking.
This... does put a smile on my face.
Two reasons why I didn't buy this game:
1. Black Panther was announced as a DLC before the game was released. He was blocked behind a paid wall.
2.Sigma, my anticipated character, was also locked behind a paid wall even though he was one of the boss in the game.
3.No Wolverine at minimum of not having X-Men. Should've called this Avengers vs Capcom and I would’ve been happy.
They took out the only characters I liked playing in mvc3; Albert Wesker and Jill valentine. Third was always chris or nemesis though.
It's such a shame MvCi never had a chance glad to see they finally got it
If the game got a special edition and all it added was more characters it would sell quite well
Nah. Its the entire game. The whole thing needs rehaul.. Like menus, music, stages, the entire vibe of the game needs a rehaul.
@@pizzahighfive2612 this. This game is an eyesore. Skip the trying to be cinematic and make it LOOK as fun as it is.
Nice video! Love seeing smaller communities focused on.
The PvP players of FFXIV have a very similar story to be honest. We were tossed to the side but we’re still here and hosting player ran tournaments
"In the FGC it's not common that a game would be able to bounce back from the brink of death..." Objectively not true, this is pretty much the only genre/community where that happens regularly. Source: GG:AC, MvC3, every kusoge game, KI, third strike + all of fightcade
The only thing I really don't like about MvCI is the overly spammed auto combo. I could care less about the easy hyper combo input, but I've seen so many matches that people just abuse auto combo and they actually win.
Fun!
Well, it's better than an infinite at least.
@@Protosilver97 that is true and there's not really a combo that can one shot any characters here that I know of.

God bless you for making this video 🙏🏾 Maybe I convince my friends to finally play with me 😂
King video. Shoutouts to the MvCi community for being incredibly welcoming to me as a beginner. I'm itching to play again and maybe compete again when I can.
The game doesnt look that bad, maybe one day it Will really bounce back
I mean your wrong it does but I agree it’s cool to see folks returning
hell no, unless we will get a mvc2 remake or mvc4
Marvel infinite is unpleasant to the eyes. Thats why it failed.
I’ve been contemplating buying this game for a while but was hesitant because I was concerned that there was no online community anymore but now I’m sold
There is an old saying that people are your best resource. Normally, this means your employees , but sometimes it is the fans.
This is Marvel, perfected.
The roster sucks, but if you can move past that, the newcomers kick ass and the mechanics fix almost everything that made me hate MVC3 (the one player gameplay mostly)
Music is terrible, artstyle is nearly non-existent, the aura is that of a zombie, the game is soul less. While the entire Vs series is one of the most artistic and dynamic franchises full of soul.
@@pizzahighfive2612 sounds like someone never actually played the game and just parrots what they see online.
Yeah, the roster may be missing characters, but it's almost like in the oldest games (XVSF-MVC1), most of the characters are the popular and current with their current faces and bodies, not the nobodies that you remember from comics that only a few from the general target read, it just needed some new models and a better voice acting.
Starting to play the game today, enjoying it so far. MVC3 was technically my introduction to fighting games and I hope the series will have a future!

It’s still a good fighting game. Yeah it doesn’t have X-men but it’s got some cool characters. You can’t live in the past forever. I just hope people play the game for themselves. It’s ugly there’s some weird design choices but it’s a solid tag team fighter and dare I say pretty fun
Yeah, the worst part is that everyone forgets this crossover games have always been mostly a cash grab on characters (Or did the 90's games have the X-Men because of the love to the characters?).
Love the video, one small thing. Tayson is pronounced Tyson. He is one of the best players in the community.
The game is pretty fun gameplay wise but damn does it look pretty ugly imo
Game plays great, looks like a foot
It looks bad because most of the characters are made with the UMVC3 models, which are ugly without the cel shading (some still are with it), The ones with new models look really good and the special effects are awesome.
I just got the game a few days ago to try it out and can’t seem to find anyone online it’s quite unfortunate
Funny how the FGC screams for good netcode but when they get it Chun Li’s face is their deal breaker. Lmao
yeah people made such a big deal out of Chun Lis face for no reason. like it was one shot in the game when it comes to fighting games who really cares about the graphics? its the gameplay that really matters at the end of the day
Minecraft UHC, I won't stop pushing for it!
Let’s go don 💪🏽. Gauntlet for life!
We only stopped because capcom stopped. These guys deserve it. Capcom give them your money!
its a shame the new disney overlords at marvel imposed so many strange restrictions on mvci,
like throwing away the celshaded comic style for a more generic "realistic" look, and removing the Xmen as they didnt own the movierights to them (yet)
As underneath it all is some solid gameplay & great netcode,
glad that mvci players kept the scene going regardless
i think the game could have been saved if it wasn't abandoned after 1 DLC pack. the gameplay was super solid i think i prefer it over MVC3 honestly. i even thought the story mode was a cool addition. its not necessary for fighting games to have a story mode but its a nice addition to give people something other than just a basic arcade and online. for me and a lot of other people the roster really hurt it. no X-Men or F4 characters to manny carry overs from MVC3 no one was really asking for like seriously who was begging for characters like Nova or Firebrand to come back?
honestly, I have hope the series will return. MVC4 could be a thing. Capcom's fighting game division just needs and entire overhaul though. Which with SFV we have gotten that.
Jakoman pretty much brought this shit back from death by himself, lol
I expect skullgirls to get a huge boon of players thanks to the new season pass and devs
Skullgirls couldve been big but covid
Of course Max Dood footage is used when talking about rollback netcode.
There's a lot of things I hate about MVCI. but the gameplay is pretty good. I hate how they changed cap though physically and in gameplay.
We better get a MVC4 soon
Great doc. Such easy listening.
Personally i think MvCi has a better overall gameplay, characters controls feel, and yes even graphics (not artstyle) than UmvC3.
Now that MVC is back with a collection thats a huge redemption arc for capcom and now DBFZ is dead (even though I love DBFZ to death) I would love to see a video of it now please! I only played UMVC3 on steam that was it and now that the collection is coming I'm so excited to play all of the games I missed out on now that the arcade classics is now a series! Also I would love to see UMVC3 and MVCI on switch or maybe on the new Switch successor with rollback if it happens! MVC IS BACK IN BUSINESS BABY!!
I Couldn't Be Happier It's Doing Better Now 😊
Prove that it only needs 1 person to rock the world.
One thing you got wrong is that the top players did not change naturally. I think if players like Justin Wong, Sonicfox and even Chris G, stuck with the game, things would have been different. Even Dual Kevin who seemed like he would be a staple eventually left. Stealth, Tayson, Jakoman, XC Lynn and Banehollow were players who stuck with the game hardcore, however, and did some amazing things. You could also say Doncon, but he is just casually really strong because of all the experience he naturally gets from hosting and playing in his and Ralston's tournaments.
Can you do next Eternal Return Black Survival? The comunnitty and players would apreciate it a lot
This is on Game Pass. Hearing that it has good netcode makes me want to give it a shot.
Don't bother is only a little alive in the PS4 version

Not worth, nobody plays on Xbox and PC
@@almightygod87 Yeah, people only play Tekken and MK on Xbox.
I still won't play this game. This was such a downgrade of both gameplay and character wise. This game felt like it had no love put into it. I wish the next entry can have the spark that made me love this series again.
I can't agree with you gameplay wise. I'm glad MVCI got away from the ToD fest of MvC3. The roster was a downgrade though (much as I enjoyed having Megaman X and Jedah).
I hope we get a next entry at all though. Because it constantly feels like Disney will never let anyone else touch their properties again. Or at least someone like Capcom.
100% agreed. i would also add it was a downgrade in terms of music, art style, and even user interface.
That is why we never lose hope someday we will get another MVC game after Infinite. Miracles do happen!

Do you want to make a video on SFxT next?
excellent video!
This game is still fun to play and still has a community behind it. There is no need for MVC4. CAPCOM & MARVEL should re-release this game as a “comeback” edition (if the Mutant Universe and classic CAPCOM characters was apart of the roster) on PS4, XBOX One, and Next-Gen consoles. Just add more characters, stages, modes, and etc.
Never knew such a disappointment would come back from the grave.
This makes me want to organize a tournament for a game that’s like geocaching and Pokémon go I’m developing
As someone who's currently studying to be a game developer/designer, I wish you good luck.
Gameplay is what matters. That's why I prefer MVCI to DBFZ.
As long as competitive fighting games as we know it are still around, good games will always have a scene, with or without the "main stage". Sometimes even broken games like HnK
Comunity: ok i am hate mvci
Also comunity: damn it has good gameplay
I just wish MVCI could get the Battle for the Gruf treatment, instead of being completely abandoned
We need a Marvel vs. Capcom game. Maybe the PlayStation Showcase will give us a new title.
I like how this was in my recommended on April first like RUclips itself thinks this is a joke.
Awesome video! I always liked the mechanics of the game and everyone was too quick to shit on it. I really hope there is another game in the future and the guys who are at the top in MVCI will be the new top dogs.

Since WHEN does Infinite have rollback?? Not on this reality. What?
I remember it having BAD netcode instead.
It wasn't patched in? From the beginning, that's a positive people praised the start of the game for.
Unless I'm missing sarcasm here, mvci has always had decent rollback netcode and good functional lobbies right out the box.
The netcode has always been good. Had no problem finding matches and playing online.

Mvci definitely isn’t without its issues but honestly the gameplay and core systems are phenomenal and I’m glad the community is still going strong
