NY Boys State Championships 2009, it's the age of the supersuits. Tom Luchsinger tries to zip up his full body suit for the 200 yard Free and the entire back of the suit tears open. He dives in and goes 1:37 and breaks the NY state record. Such a savage swim that I remember.
Go to 0:03 and turn your playback speed to 0.25x. Then you will see something that all the swimmers had in common except lane 4. Basically all the other guys had their foot up, while lane 4 had his foot in the water when he launched off
Probably just his feet. His hands got around well but his body sunk really deep on the start so that’s why he came up so far behind. Backstroke slips aren’t usually as bad visually
It’s not really a surprise that lane 4 ended up winning despite the slip, they usually place the fastest swimmers in the middle lanes anyways. Good hustle Max Williamson despite 👍.
