I’m also a plus-sized, having fat-shamed since secondary sch days. Back then, I feel that I lack of self-confidence and worthless. But over the years, I thought to myself why would I let those f**kers affect me? I dare to say I live a better life now than the ppl who fat-shamed me in the past. For Randy: I think there's one thing we, shorter people, should be happy for. We tend to look much younger than our friends of same age. I think it's not a bad thing to have a balanced diet, exercise and have a healthy lifestyle, as long as it's for the sake of being healthy, not merely to live up to society's standard. very informative video! Back when I was in secondary school, I often get comments like "You're so fat" or "You only eat at McDonald's" just because I was chubby and slightly overweight. So I started to hate my appearance and then my mental health was not it. I would starve myself and not eat properly just for the sake of "losing" that weight to "look" good. Over the days, it did not work out, and eventually, I stopped starving myself and just eat as much as I wanted (no balance at all). During poly, I gained quite a lot of weight compared to when I was in secondary school. I thought I will get away from those hurtful comments from my classmate. Guess what? NO. I remember one time my classmate laughed at me for being fat. Sadly, I hold on to my tears and cried on my way home on a bus. I was not brave enough to stand up for myself which made me really detest my appearance even more. Poly Year 3 I started to care about my appearance, just because I had a crush on a guy during secondary school. Eventually, we chatted a lot online (he initiated fyi) and got really close over the days. That's the critical point when I started to care about my looks. However, it was not for myself. I thought of losing weight for him was to in order to fit his "criteria". So yea, I did lose 10 kg for him. Of course, I looked slimmer and more petite in a sense. Long story short, he was a jerk to me in the end. I found myself working so hard to achieve that "body" but I was not happy with the process at all. I started to wake up and think that all the effort I had put on for him was just to please him. Luckily, I am brave enough to kinda ditch him away and start taking care of myself. The weight I lost, the tracks I ran, and the healthy meal I prep are not just silly processes for him. I'm happy that I'm enjoying a healthy lifestyle after that naive and silly romance. You can say that is true that a silly romance like this can kick start my weight loss journey but I'm glad that along the way I found my true purpose for myself. That's the important part of losing weight. In the end, weight is just a number. In summary, I just wanna say my long insecurity like this since the start of my teen life caused me so much impact on my mental health and well-being. To think about it today (I'm an adult already), it is not worth wasting my youth for having such a negative mentality and I could have been a confident and happy kid back then. dw, I will never look back but rather I will keep on moving forward :D Ty for reading!

I was 60kg at my heaviest being a 1.58m female. At my skinniest, I was 42kg. But because of all these fat shaming, I'm never pleased with myself and to this date , I'm 47kg, but I still feel so self conscious. Casual comments play a huge impact regardless a joke or not 🥺😢
really feels the same when miss hippo says “the car will tilt one side when you sit” comment… ALWAYS! 😢 always say that else will say like “my suspension ltr cfm spoil alr” when i sit on the car 😢😢
My insecurity is being fair-skinned. Everyone would compare me with my dark, tanned, sporty brother. And they'd say I look like a pale nerd. Really really dislike that. I just can't get tanned. Just can't!
yeah , at the end of the day, ownself happy can le. Alot of the people whatever thing also got things to say. You say fat shame blah blah, but those who are skinny also get skinny-shamed by people saying things like oooo like bamboo blah blah. Short people get shamed for being too short or shorter than average, tall people get shamed for being too tall also, so don't try to change yourself to make others happy, cause those people will never stop being cheap with their mouths. Curious, Randy 小的时候是不是不睡觉？ Cos I’m of a very average height for a female or some may consider me to be slightly short (1.62m) & my elder sister stands at 1.69m & our height difference was already significant in primary school so I was called 矮婆 at home for a good chunk of my teen years until my younger sister came along & she ended up being the same height as me. Then I realised what could have caused this: 1. My elder sister slept normal hours as a baby but I was a very difficult baby at night, always crying & refusing to sleep. Then when I was 11 I suddenly became very studious & studied till 2-4am almost everyday, even on weekends. Always not enough sleep. My elder sis was not as studious & slept regular hours. My younger sis also suddenly became very studious in her sec school days & slept very little. 2. My elder sister was more sporty than us although she was classified as overweight & my younger sis & I were scrawny (so don’t assume all fat people are inactive/ lazy), she played basketball, joined Girl Guides whereas I was always trying to avoid physical activities. 3. First kid usually gets the most nutrients from the mommy, especially when the age gap between the children are very close (1-2 years). There are studies backing this up. Mommy’s body take time to recuperate. It doesn’t just happen over a few short months. That’s why so docs recommend if you want your next kid to be smart & tall, dont immediately get pregnant again, try to achieve a 2-3 year gap. I have no idea the age age between Ben & Randy. I’m guessing 3 years?

When I first met my husband , I was 45kg . After 38 years of marriage and three kids , I am now 71kg . He said I am like Jabba the Hutt , always lying down . This sort of thing , one can never forget .
👍as a fellow fat person, i also dont take lifts when i go out bc im paranoid that the lift will beep bc of me 🤣 My parents are the main critics of my weight (since strangers may be scared i can sit on them 🤣). They always call me stupid pig etc. but i just treat it as the words of a loser, bc if im so stupid, how is it that i am trilingual. I didnt even notice about Ben's nose, people who say that are just jealous of his good looks.
Criticism from others hurt, but from own family even hurts more. I've had my aunt commenting "why is your leg like elephant leg". TBH I really wanted to d*e that moment. People often misunderstand us also, thinking we have a huge appetite. We eat lesser bit, they tease us for being paiseh and will starve ourselves, or we eat just the amount we need, they tease us for eating too much. They will always find a way to bring us down, irony because not all of us gain thru eating, plus we eat also not they pay!!! Booooo.
Pls lar, Ben’s nose where got big?! It’s of an average size what! So many men on the streets have bigger nose (flat & wide, at least Ben’s is not like that)! And I think a smaller nose probably won’t suit Ben’s face cos his face is oval & he is tall. I think it’s proportional to his features & height. Relative to Randy, Ben also looks more manly. Not saying Ben looks like macho man/ Randy looks feminine. What I mean is Randy has a more boyish, cute look. So if you put Randy’s smaller nose on Ben it probably wont suit him. And if you put Ben’s nose on Randy it probably won’t suit either. Both brothers actually look good in their different ways. Always thought one of them (Randy) is a carbon copy of Miss Hippo & the other (Ben) is a carbon copy of Miss Hippo Laogong. So lucky, both parents each have a child that looks really like them haha. And wow Miss Hippo looked so cute as a kid! And still looked greattt after having Randy! Miss Hippo Laogong also looked good when they were younger. It’s just an unfortunate fact that people will age in appearance & their metabolism will also slow down making it easier for them to put on weight/ harder for them to lose weight as the years go by. It’s ok since these eventually happens to most people, just be happy! Also, those who made fun of Miss Hippo joking that she must have eaten all her hubby’s food. Harlow, hubbies cannot 生孩子 ok?! So many women only put on a lot of weight after giving birth. And it’s not just about self-discipline, it’s the body has changed. Also, women go through so much hormonal changes throughout their life! Period come, crave carbs & sugar. Pregnant, hormones go havoc. Menopause, hormones go havoc another time! And 70kg when pregnant where got fat? Is quite normal. And those pictures of Miss Hippo carrying small Ben/ Randy actually look great leh. So sad, some people are so bad! Most importantly, this looks like such a wholesome, loving & happy family. Miss Hippo may feel fat now but if she’s healthy & happy that all it matters! And remember having a doting husband & such filial & successful kids is something not many people have. This is priceless!

well, maybe some people didnt really want to fat shame others but just purely cuz they made a lot of inconvinience to other? for example one statement was right about plus size people occupy the seat way more that you keeps touching the other passenger. I know most people really feel uncomfortable about skinship with strangers. Think about it, if you are plus size person, would you want to seat next to another plus size person as well? imagine how squeezy it will feel. Thats the feeling others will feel too. For scent it depends, definitely there are people way more digusting than others like those who smoke foreign cigarettes or intense perfume. I dont think super size people are smelly when compared to that but they do sweat much easier than normal people so i guess there is a reason for all these. But not everyone is rich so i guess everyone have to suck it up and tolerate. If really intolerable, just take the next public transport i guess. Im not rich so the best i do was to take less transport, ride bicycle to travel to nearby mall for grocery and stay at home as much as possible Sorry im a bit of hygiene freak, feel like its a bit of a crime to be a hygiene freak when i see this video. I guess most people are hygiene freak when Ms Hippo gave that comment at 7:07, cuz most of the people definitely do not enjoy touching some stranger body or like smelly things (depends on individual tolerance levels, some have much more sensitive nose) Im definitely not saying being fat is a crime, i think its natural people get fat as metabolism decreases but i just want to comment that generally there is a reason for everything, people dont fat shame others unless they had a super bad impression or incident with a super size person before. Dont think of it as a NEGATIVE thing, just let it be a MOTIVATION for you. I BELIEVE THERE IS NOT UGLY/FAT PEOPLE ONLY LAZY PEOPLE. I saw a lot of people with asthma problem, disabled too, but this never stops them from moving around, they are really big inspiration for me to work out more.

I was overweight in my primary school days until I menstruated for one month (due to hormonal imbalance) and lost 8kg. Now I have an acceptable weight but....the insult I got back then stayed through and so even though I know I have quite healthy slim body size, I would often still see myself as the overweight girl I was. Like I wouldn't dare to enter any clothes shop without anyone accompanying me cuz I was scared ppl would say things like "don't have your size" and I don't dare to wear crop top or dress cause I am scared ppl will laugh at my big belly (even though it's not present)
6:30 for me I often sit with people who also sit into my seat but I personally don't mind however, they always end up shifting to another seat and on my side I will think is it because of my problem 😰😰

My insecurity is being fair-skinned. Everyone would compare me with my dark, tanned, sporty brother. And they'd say I look like a pale nerd. Really really dislike that. I just can't get tanned. Just can't!

Alot of the people whatever thing also got things to say. You say fat shame blah blah, but those who are skinny also get skinny-shamed by people saying things like oooo like bamboo blah blah. Short people get shamed for being too short or shorter than average, tall people get shamed for being too tall also, so don't try to change yourself to make others happy, cause those people will never stop being cheap with their mouths.
As long as you are happy with who you are, it's all that matters! Jiayous everyone!

Curious, Randy 小的时候是不是不睡觉？
Cos I’m of a very average height for a female or some may consider me to be slightly short (1.62m) & my elder sister stands at 1.69m & our height difference was already significant in primary school so I was called 矮婆 at home for a good chunk of my teen years until my younger sister came along & she ended up being the same height as me. Then I realised what could have caused this:
1. My elder sister slept normal hours as a baby but I was a very difficult baby at night, always crying & refusing to sleep. Then when I was 11 I suddenly became very studious & studied till 2-4am almost everyday, even on weekends. Always not enough sleep. My elder sis was not as studious & slept regular hours. My younger sis also suddenly became very studious in her sec school days & slept very little.
2. My elder sister was more sporty than us although she was classified as overweight & my younger sis & I were scrawny (so don’t assume all fat people are inactive/ lazy), she played basketball, joined Girl Guides whereas I was always trying to avoid physical activities.
3. First kid usually gets the most nutrients from the mommy, especially when the age gap between the children are very close (1-2 years). There are studies backing this up. Mommy’s body take time to recuperate. It doesn’t just happen over a few short months. That’s why so docs recommend if you want your next kid to be smart & tall, dont immediately get pregnant again, try to achieve a 2-3 year gap. I have no idea the age age between Ben & Randy. I’m guessing 3 years?

Criticism from others hurt, but from own family even hurts more. I've had my aunt commenting "why is your leg like elephant leg". TBH I really wanted to d*e that moment. People often misunderstand us also, thinking we have a huge appetite. We eat lesser bit, they tease us for being paiseh and will starve ourselves, or we eat just the amount we need, they tease us for eating too much. They will always find a way to bring us down, irony because not all of us gain thru eating, plus we eat also not they pay!!! Booooo.

Pls lar, Ben’s nose where got big?! It’s of an average size what! So many men on the streets have bigger nose (flat & wide, at least Ben’s is not like that)!
And I think a smaller nose probably won’t suit Ben’s face cos his face is oval & he is tall. I think it’s proportional to his features & height.
Relative to Randy, Ben also looks more manly. Not saying Ben looks like macho man/ Randy looks feminine. What I mean is Randy has a more boyish, cute look. So if you put Randy’s smaller nose on Ben it probably wont suit him. And if you put Ben’s nose on Randy it probably won’t suit either.
Both brothers actually look good in their different ways. Always thought one of them (Randy) is a carbon copy of Miss Hippo & the other (Ben) is a carbon copy of Miss Hippo Laogong. So lucky, both parents each have a child that looks really like them haha.
And wow Miss Hippo looked so cute as a kid! And still looked greattt after having Randy! Miss Hippo Laogong also looked good when they were younger. It’s just an unfortunate fact that people will age in appearance & their metabolism will also slow down making it easier for them to put on weight/ harder for them to lose weight as the years go by. It’s ok since these eventually happens to most people, just be happy!
Also, those who made fun of Miss Hippo joking that she must have eaten all her hubby’s food. Harlow, hubbies cannot 生孩子 ok?! So many women only put on a lot of weight after giving birth. And it’s not just about self-discipline, it’s the body has changed. Also, women go through so much hormonal changes throughout their life! Period come, crave carbs & sugar. Pregnant, hormones go havoc. Menopause, hormones go havoc another time! And 70kg when pregnant where got fat? Is quite normal. And those pictures of Miss Hippo carrying small Ben/ Randy actually look great leh. So sad, some people are so bad!
Most importantly, this looks like such a wholesome, loving & happy family. Miss Hippo may feel fat now but if she’s healthy & happy that all it matters! And remember having a doting husband & such filial & successful kids is something not many people have. This is priceless!

well, maybe some people didnt really want to fat shame others but just purely cuz they made a lot of inconvinience to other? for example one statement was right about plus size people occupy the seat way more that you keeps touching the other passenger. I know most people really feel uncomfortable about skinship with strangers. Think about it, if you are plus size person, would you want to seat next to another plus size person as well? imagine how squeezy it will feel. Thats the feeling others will feel too.
For scent it depends, definitely there are people way more digusting than others like those who smoke foreign cigarettes or intense perfume. I dont think super size people are smelly when compared to that but they do sweat much easier than normal people so i guess there is a reason for all these. But not everyone is rich so i guess everyone have to suck it up and tolerate. If really intolerable, just take the next public transport i guess. Im not rich so the best i do was to take less transport, ride bicycle to travel to nearby mall for grocery and stay at home as much as possible
Sorry im a bit of hygiene freak, feel like its a bit of a crime to be a hygiene freak when i see this video. I guess most people are hygiene freak when Ms Hippo gave that comment at 7:07, cuz most of the people definitely do not enjoy touching some stranger body or like smelly things (depends on individual tolerance levels, some have much more sensitive nose)
Im definitely not saying being fat is a crime, i think its natural people get fat as metabolism decreases but i just want to comment that generally there is a reason for everything, people dont fat shame others unless they had a super bad impression or incident with a super size person before. Dont think of it as a NEGATIVE thing, just let it be a MOTIVATION for you. I BELIEVE THERE IS NOT UGLY/FAT PEOPLE ONLY LAZY PEOPLE. I saw a lot of people with asthma problem, disabled too, but this never stops them from moving around, they are really big inspiration for me to work out more.

I was overweight in my primary school days until I menstruated for one month (due to hormonal imbalance) and lost 8kg. Now I have an acceptable weight but....the insult I got back then stayed through and so even though I know I have quite healthy slim body size, I would often still see myself as the overweight girl I was. Like I wouldn't dare to enter any clothes shop without anyone accompanying me cuz I was scared ppl would say things like "don't have your size" and I don't dare to wear crop top or dress cause I am scared ppl will laugh at my big belly (even though it's not present)
