Everyone who films on a phone should watch this however, it's also applicable to cameras.
Absolutely 💪

Started off using my smartphone as a entry level for my channel. Now I've invested in Sony Lens and Camera and is tough going back to mobile quality. Just can't unsee the quality difference.
Honestly the biggest tell is that the smartphone footage is waaaay over sharpened. If you can get the exposure right and use compositions where the small sensor deep depth of field isn't noticeable, you wouldn't be able to tell, if it weren't for the sharpening.
@@thatcherfreeman agreed! Way too oversharpened
@@thatcherfreeman yeah
@@thatcherfreeman I use a iPhone se 2nd gen and it’s is over sharpened way too much. And I can’t de-sharpen it 😐😐
@@dannybaldelomar it is possible … use davinci Resolve (free version)
Thanks a lot 🙏🏻

bro the phone he is talking about is more expensive than any midrange camera lol
@@mohammadrafin8243 Bro, He is Comparing the phone with a Cinema Camera which is Really Costly.
I'll add a couple: anti-flicker and de-sharpen. Smartphone footage flickers a lot, especially in higher contrast scenes, but I found the anti-flicker in Premiere does a pretty good job at removing this. Smartphone footage also tends to be way too sharp. When that's toned down, it looks a lot more natural.
With my S21 the stabilization is pretty darn impressive. Unless you need to be walking for your shot, you really don't even need a gimbal, especially if you shoot in 60 fps for slow mo. Add in warp stabilizer and it looks like it was on a gimbal! I've been sleeping on what my phone can do, but after reviewing some video I took with it, I'm gonna start using it more!
How do you de-sharpen the footage? in editing or there's anything we can do while shooting
@@rishabhnaudiyal1301 yes, in editing
Compared to real film all digital images look too sharp 🙂
This is one of the most detailed and yet crisp information I've seen on Smartphone Videography or Photography. Keep up the great work.
Wow love your page Parker, thank you so much for these great tips i have learned so much because of you guys. You guys are the best with helping new videographers and film makers to pursue a career's in the film industry especially these days with social media. Once again thank you
An excellent very professional presentation which makes me seriously consider your course.
Great content, makes me want to do more filming, very inspiring. Thank you.
It was really helpful, thank you ❤️
Love these tutorials! I actually learned recently that certain social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram only take iPhone videos that are 30 FPS hence why it automatically goes to 30 FPS in the camera app. Anyways great job again keep crushing it!
I think 30fps is just the default settings for most phones
You're extremely generous. I truly appreciate it. You've definitely gained a follower!
What an amazing work guys. Knowledge is worthwhile when shared. ❤🍻 You just sumed it up so well.
This is very helpful. I’m traveling to Nigeria and I’m traveling light. So definitely using my smartphone to capture video. I have an DJI Osmo 3 and the Moment Lenses. I use counterweights that can be screwed into the stabilizer to balance the phone.
Wow, this is really impressive. I'm so glad I came across your video. This is why content creators need hardware nerds! The kind that are smart in translating hardware technicalities into simpler terms.
I had a limited budget as a world traveler and I brought the wrong gear (insta360 X3) even after countless hours of reviewing the best action camera on Earth. Because no one spoke about its negative aspects of vlogging and the editing work. Now I have to sell it for a huge loss. I was thinking of using my iPhone 14Pro coupled with the latest DJI gimbal and adding in the best wireless audio from Rode. I needed to know with full confidence if my footage could beat the few thousand dollars cameras I couldn't afford. I was strategizing on using Adobe Premium Pro and upgrading my video editing skills, sharpening my music pairing intuition.
Your production was the greatest testament, it was the best 25 mins I have ever spent on RUclips. You did so well in explaining and showcasing everything (The sales pitch was pretty subtle yet such a powerful presentation). Thanks for helping me to trust that what I have, is already a powerhouse! :)🕊
Thanks for the scenes from Sausalito, brings back good times.
Oh boy. You guys are on fire!! I'm in! Planning to get your course ASAP
Awesome video - thanks guys!
Best detailed video tutorial I've seen so far.
Nice video! The DJI osmo gimbals are great for broll but people need to understand they are not built to hold a chunky lens and filters. The gears can/will eventually wear out so I have gone from the osmo 3 to the Weebill S so I can use a full set up with the gimbal.
Dropping a cellphone videography tutorial right after insta comes out as saying they're primarily focused on video.
Genius 👏
They dropped it a few days ago but then deleted the video. Not sure why. It's still there in my notifications but greyed out.
Full Time Film Maker is the Best Course I've Ever paid for!
So much value here. Thanks for the content! Using this for my youtube channel
Really helpful! Thank you so much for these tips! 😍
That was a LOT of info in one video. Thanks!
you are delivering such a great and well done content! thank you for all the effort with such a beautiful result!
YES, this was needed ⚡ thanks for making this video 👍
I would say a bonus tip is to lean in to the quality. Instead of trying to make the phone look good, just use it a a handheld little story machine, like for flashbacks or some handheld action to create emotion, make the viewer feel like they are there. Thats how I use the smartphone atleast :)
Im always learning a lot about your stuffs! Thanks!
this is the only channel that uploads a 23 minutes video and I dont skip
Lots of information u guys described here so clearly. Thanks a lot.

Amazing video! Btw, the soundtrack, in the beginning, is Pens and Needles by Virgil Arles, was looking for it for a while.
Спасибо большое за видео 👍🏻 Вдохновляет!)))
Thanks a lot sir for this amazing knowledge
Step 11: you achieved your story in my case: as a San Francisco Bay Area resident from 1977-2006 your story made me feel REAL HOMESICK (especially during this crappy lockdown era). I now live in Sydney AU, so it's not that bad per se! :0) I will check out the course though as I love using my iPhone 12 Pro Max for videos (Filmic Pro, Moment lenses, Beast Cage et al).
Thank you so much for sharing tips & tricks for beginner also.
❤❤
Excellent tutorial! Thank you for That!
Thanks for the great content.

Thanks for sharing this idea, amazing
Great video
I really enjoyed watch it
Thanks
Nice work Team, I appreciate the quality content you are sharing on your channel.
It would be great to see your next video about the comparison between smart phones vs action cameras vs professional mirrorless cameras ( iPhone/Samsung VS go pro 9/Insta R and 360/Osmo action VS Sony/canon/ Panasonic/Fuji film cameras)
Best wishes.
Since I film only on an iPhone, this video helped A LOT. One thing I would suggest though is adding a light blur/glow to the footage- it gets rid of that ultra sharp iPhone look

That intro was amazing 😍
Hello, really interesting video! :) I have a little problem: i have a pretty old compact camera (Panasonic Lumix Lf1), and even it's a little compact camera, every setting is exactly like in every other professional camera. (You have ISO, aperture, shutter speed, white balance, etc) For photos it works perfectly, but when I start recording video, it seems like every setting goes back to "auto". The focus, the aperture and the shutter speed I've just made don't apply to the video! But even my smartphone can do that with a manual camera app... am I doing anything wrong? Can you help me? Thanks :)
wonderful,,,
thanks for sharing such great tips,,
