My mother is from Burma. They left the country the night there was a military coup back in the very early 1970s. They were lucky because they were high up so they knew what was going to happen. They left everything behind and had to start again in Australia. My grandfather was lucky enough to know people here and was given a job. They were the few lucky ones who could afford to leave. Whenever my mother tells me the story she always sais "you could hear the tanks rolling down the streets that night." It's something that probably terrified her. Thank God for a country like Australia.
в Советском Союзе тоже люди жили дружно и радовались . потом танки расстреляли парламент и пытавшихся его защитить гражданских людей.теперь уже 30 лет без никакой надежды-все права растоптаны...
This is officially one of the coolest looking rail vehicles I've seen. I love this sort of effective ingenuity that you see in the third world, splicing together scrap metal, antiquated vehicles, and industrial machinery into reasonably functional creations.
@@maazkalim The third world is often thought of as an insult, but it's simply a way of referring to countries that do not align with the historic cold-war east-vs-west capitalist-vs-communist power blocs, IE Russia and China etc as one world, America and Western Europe etc as the other world. So you have those 2 worlds, and countries not in those worlds are the "third" world. That doesn't inherently indicate something negative.
I am aware of the etymology of the term.. ...However, we have to consider here-&-now.. ...So here, when anybody invokes it - it is nothing more than 'world-rankism'( you sound critical-thinking enough to understand what I'm conveying). But above all.. I genuinely appreciate your intuitively perceptive insight that in spite of my indirect, not-exactly-precise hint - you managed to find what I'm referring to in this thread alone. Thanks.

You all probably dont care at all but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the password. I would love any tips you can offer me.
Old British colonial 2 foot gauge. Used in mines, sugarcane areas, etc Burma's main gauge was 1 meter, connectable with India ( Assam) and Thailand and Malaysia. Doc AV
that must be something like a 2 ft gauge. had the impression the train must be rolling over to its side any moment whilst watching this video Thanks for uploading!
Now, I understand the older people having such mobility skills, having to get up and down that damned truck. Never seen such a narrow gauge rail tracks. Ingenuity at its best, as always, and we never see this in the travel brochures.

Except for phraseology: I completely approve of this message!

Nice.. I love their life style, nothing is better than nature.
I can't believe that thing manages to not tip over on 2 foot gauge track. Pretty wild. The loop at 30 seconds in is a really cool and unusual feature.
Wow, My best friend, Thank you for your hard work in making the video. I enjoyed the good video. Have a happy day.

What about the film taker on top class?

It reminds me of my country ( Indonesia) with the same rail way and train conditions 70 to 80 years ago. That is documented in the railway history.
This is what REAL fun and adventure travel likes
Awesome. When seeing this video it feels like being part of it.
Lovely moments

The train driver is having the time of his life. Best job in the world!
Wow in today's time, in such a train and such a journey has its own fun, which is rarely seen now.

An dem Film kann man sich gar nicht satt sehen... Grandios! Exotische Motive lebendig eingefangen.

Two feet, indeed! Built by the British. The lorry is from Japan, the wheels (with trend to turn over) are Burmes home-made.
