    I installed that system on my 69 mustang that previously had points and condenser and it worked flawlessly .

    Thank you for the great video. I was wondering, a previous owner converted my truck to duraspark 2. I’m unable to get a spark now after driving it for 2 years. Is there anyway you can help troubleshoot?

    Good video yeah like the first comment said I would like to know more how to connect from the ignition module to the harnesses of the truck reason for my question I bought a 82 f100 and they previous owner had a mess with all the cable coming from the distributor harness to the 2 plug connectors of the ignition module

      I will try an get a video uploaded on how to connect the harness. Are you planing to use an OEM coil with ballast resistor or an aftermarket coil like I used in the video?

      I am converting an old points system to a 1977 ford electronic distributor. No old harness available. Just have to hook up to a new ford ignition module ( I think its before the ds -2) but 6 wires. The new reman distributor has 3 wires. Which coil should I buy? A side note, its a 73 lincoln and used a solonoid on starter instead of inner fender. Im going to keep rewatching your wonderful video and see if i can make mine work

      I'm not all that familiar with the 2.8 variants. If it has the duraspark style distributor it should be the same I was what I did.

    Hi,
    so i am actually using kwik wire on my 78 ford with the same ignition module. my question is, what did you do with the neutral safety wire?

    • @buckeyebullnose6298
      @buckeyebullnose6298  Год назад

      The neutral safety wire goes from the output side of your key switch or push button start to the neutral switch, then to the signal side of the starter solenoid.

    I’m in a jam with my 84 f150. I pulled the original 302 and dropping a fully dressed 347 Stroker from blueprint in. It had a newer style distributor. Blue print is saying I can install a 12v coil and bypass the dura spark. Any input?

      It’s pretty easy just to swap over and run an HEI style distributor. I’ve got a video on my channel explaining how I did it on my 85

  • @GordonCohen
    @GordonCohen 2 года назад

    did you swap because you wanted to get rid of the EEC-IV systems? i've got an 85' f150 with that crap and im thinking of getting a sniper efi setup. i have a feeling its going to be a lot of work switching over the whole ignition system.

    • @buckeyebullnose6298
      @buckeyebullnose6298  2 года назад

      I got rid of the stock wiring and what not because I am building this truck for drag racing. As long as you can read a wire schematic, and have some patience it's not too bad of a job.

      If you go with a Sniper system, I would suggest either the DuraSpark II, or an aftermarket HEI unit.
      Also, both can be locked out so that timing can be controlled by the Sniper unit, which is ideal.

    I came to your video with great hope. but wasted my time...I wanted to know the color by color wiring pattern for the old style duraspark. You used an aftermarket harness that doesn't seem to relate to the original ford installation. The coil in my case has one red wire and one green wire on the coil...your installation has 4. Then you get off target and start giving a tutorial on wire crimps....Where is your instruction on where the orange wire and purple wire are attached...useless for me.

    • @buckeyebullnose6298
      @buckeyebullnose6298  2 года назад

      Too bad I guess, the harness I made follows the OEM style setup up minus the ballast resistor wire. A simple google search will show you what each wire goes too. It's not that hard.

      @@buckeyebullnose6298 I went back and watched the video again to make sure I wasn't missing the point. I am not able to access a previous harness because I application is a Clark Aircraft Tug with a 300 straight six Ford motor. Even you use a quickwire harness in the video. I was hoping for a Color by Color explanation of the placement of each wire from the original brain box. Thank You for the reply.
