Snapping Howard’s eye patch, getting drunk with Leonard’s mother and telling her about being in a relationship with Leonard, punishing Leonard for emotionally manipulating her, scuffling with Alicia. Penny had many great moments!
I really love Penny's character development, and how she becomes more versed in nerd culture. I cheered when she called out Howard for his creepy, inappropriate behaviour, he became a lot more tolerable after he met Bernadette.
Yeah, but that GOOD and DECENT development only lasted til like season six-eight. It was STRAIGHT DOWNHILL from there on out. Penny became the third worst female character. Both Bernadette and Penny became similar (especially when it came to scenes and how they treated their respective husbands) and Penny is on her way to becoming Beverly. The worst part is, that Kaley was seemingly OKAY and praised the way they ruined Penny. I really hated how she just… didn’t care. It’s the reason why all her characters of the last ELEVEN YEARS, have been the same terrible woman that doesn’t really love whoever she’s paired up with, because Kaley ALWAYS fails to convince anyone that she loves whoever she’s paired up with on screen.
@@BenE8844 I totally disagree. Think about the time she and Leonard went to some kind of Comic-Con style show where Penny was advertising her gorilla movie. Leonard brings along one of those coin changers and Penny makes fun of him while they are at home. But when the nerds find out Leonard is married to Penny and don't believe him, one thing they say is, "but he wears a coin changer!" Penny's immediate response is "I think it's hot." She wants to make Leonard look good, even though she secretly agrees it looks dumb. One of the great things about Penny is that she was never afraid of the nerd gang, even though she knew they were smarter than she was. Her confidence in herself is part of what makes her a great character. And hearing her tell off Howard for his assumption that any guy will always seem desirable to a "hot" woman was a real win for all women. It's also interesting that although people often criticize the women for their behavior and attitudes, men don't get the same criticism. The friends were often quite mean to each other and frequently said belittling things. Why is that okay but when women say something mean they are horrible people?

Those f*CKING losers are LOSERS, and the episode just glamorizes seemingly pathetic men getting hot women that are bitches or become bitches later on. I don't think anything in my comments suggest that I didn't read what you had to say. I mean, you sort of contradict yourself. First you say good and decent character development for the first six seasons, then you say Kaley never convinces anyone she loves her ostensible partner. I mostly ignored the rant about Kaley, since I think she did a great job on TBBT and haven't seen her in anything else. Perhaps I am wrong, but you seemed to imply that Penny was becoming more like Bernadette/Beverley, which I took to mean that Penny was becoming nastier. I personally really hate the way Bernadette's character was written. Why do so many men create strong female characters that are bitches? Heck, even Howard eventually becomes a nicer guy, but Bernadette remains more of a stereotype than a person. Although Beverly would be an awful person in real life, she is hilarious in the show and is one of my favorites. Certainly the scene where she responds when Leonard forgives her for being a terrible mother is one of the most moving in the whole show. But the guys themselves are often nasty and play mean tricks on each other and it seems like we are supposed to see that as funny, but when women are nasty we see that as obnoxious.

Leonard is actually the most attractive of the guys. Galecki worked out and did yoga IRL, but the stupid writers and Chuck fired him to hide his physique too many times. People also seem to forget that the actors dated IRL too, so no. Leonard isn’t necessarily pathetic and completely out of her league. I always envied his hair; I liked its waviness. I wished mine was like that. Any episode where the phrase “wore her [me] down”, or “settled”, is some of the worse the show had. It’s SHOCKING how little of those jokes there were about Howard and Bernadette; I can only name a few, like in the what if Christmas episode where she said that without Sheldon, she would’ve assumed Howard was gay with Raj, and moved on, or when she casually said she’d wait a week after a divorce to cry and start working out (sorry, but I don’t see Bernadette working out, so her staying in shape feels not in character). One episode that REALLY grinds my gears is that stupid episode where Leonard is bragging to a bunch of LOSERS that live with their moms about how he got Penny at a convention. Fun fact: even KALEY CUOCO hated that episode. I mean, that one guy asked to kiss her, and then he bragged. Chuck Lorre is just projecting; he’s Leonard and Penny is a chick he never got in life.
Kicking the hacker in his “little special place” really should have been way higher on this list!! It’s a great moment!! The guys’ reactions are also priceless.
Penny was like one of my favourites in the show ❤️❤️ her character growth was great and I truly loved all her iconic moments including the ones that were mentioned here 😊👍👍 another great moment of hers which I liked is when she was with Raj were he finally talked to her without being drank 😄
Meeting Penny was without doubt the best thing to happen to these guys. She helped Leonard become more confident. She helped Sheldon become more sociable. She helped Raj learn how to speak with women. She made Howard grow up and stop acting like a creep.
This is a pretty good list. I would also add when Penny takes Beverly out drinking and when she and Amy dominate game night against Leonard and Sheldon.
I've loved Kaley Cuoco since 8 Simple Rules so I was thrilled when I heard she'd be starring in a new sitcom in the fall of 2007. That was the entire reason I even tuned in at all the night the pilot premiered. If she hadn't been in it, it might've taken me a few years to get into the show.

The writers must really hate waitresses from the Cheesecake Factory and think that they're stupid, given that Sheldon's lines are often so insulting and unkind. Things in situational comedy are often intentionally exaggerated for laughs. Nobody irl acts like any of the characters on this, or any other, show. It's a sitcom, not a documentary.

In my opinion, Cassie, Kaley Cuoco's character in "The Flight Attendant", is Penny if she hadn't met the gang, and continued on her destructive party girl lifestyle.

"I can't believe you saved all this stuff" "Of course I did, it's you." As a romantic who's always writing or drawing something for my partner of almost 11 years, that really hits different. All of it is separate pieces of love to form a giant picture over each year. It's very sentimental and even more so when it's all kept.

The stupid writers didn’t even make them kiss which is what you’re supposed to do at a wedding. 🤦♂️
I really hated how they made Penny bother with helping Sheldon “solve” string theory, when she doesn’t CARE about science AT ALL, yet it bothers her to also not get credit like for Raj’s comet ☄️. Also, when Sheldon was lecturing her and Leonard walked in, she made is SUBTLY AND CRYSTAL CLEAR, she was sick and tired of it, and wanted Leonard to get her away from Sheldon. What I hate is that they don’t make Penny try to help Leonard HER F*CKING HUSBAND. I think Chuck gets off of writing hot women with “seemingly”, pathetic men, because HE is pathetic.
