Chadwick Boseman's passing makes me so sad. He was so young and so accomplished. He should have had a much longer life ahead of him. The others were terrific actors and all of their losses diminish us, but they were mostly able to realize their potentials. Chadwick's loss struck me at the time as so unfair. Of course John Cazale's loss was probably equally tragic, but I wasn't familiar with him when he died and was too young at the time to have heard about it. I do remember feeling sad at the loss of Alan Rickman, Vincent Price, Raul Julia, and Pete Postlethwaite.

In regard to Raul Julia’s performance as M Bison, they filmed the final battle between him and Guile first and then film the rest of the movie afterwards since his condition was getting worse. But it’s nice how his performance is so iconic that Bison’s recent appearance in Street Fighter 6 pays tribute to Raul Julia by entering on the battlefield in a horse similar to that painting from the movie
John Cazale... Quite possibly Hollywood's greatest character actor EVER! Godfather, The Conversation, Godfather II, Dog Day Afternoon, & finally The Deer Hunter. As good of a resume as any actor ever. Add to that his incredible Broadway career & you have an All Time Great.
Richard Jordan was dying of cancer when he played General Lewis Armistead in Gettysburg. It was what made his final scene where he is dying on the battlefield so heartbreaking.
I had just commented this my friend. Richard Jordan brought Armistead to life! I believe the soul of General Armistead was Jordan’s when I saw his performance. His soul, and that of that hallowed field are entwined. And his performance brilliant and heartbreaking!!

Alan Rickman and Chadwick Boseman got me the most. I am a huge Marvel fan and Chadwick’s performance as Black Panther was amazing. I grew up watching Alan Rickman’s films. Die Hard was my first and favorite!
The fact that these men passed away too soon just to entertain us while they were fighting what they had makes them a true hero and an inspiration. Another actor who knew he was leaving soon but kept acting was Massimo Troisi in The Postman. He postponed heart surgery to keep shooting. 12 hours later when filming ended, he was gone. He has a statue in San Giorgio.
Allan, Vincent, Yusaka, Jason, John, Raul, Chadwick Cancer has taken a lot of people. Chadwick had colon cancer for 4 yrs and kept on working. Chadwick also visited St Jude kids who had cancer, while he was batting cancer.
Richard Jordan was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1993, the same year his film Gettysburg came out. He played Brigadier General Lewis Armistead, who commanded a brigade in Pickett's Division, Longstreet's I Corps, Army of Northern Virginia and would die on the third day of the Battle of Gettysburg, having made it to the Union Center at what would become the high-water mark of the Confederacy. Jordan is said to have engaged with anyone who wanted to talk to him, despite his ailments making him tired. He died before the release of the film, which was then dedicated to his memory.
Believe he was originally cast in Jeroen Krabbe's role in The Fugitive, Dr. Charles Nichols. When his illness got too severe, he had to drop out and Krabbe was brought in to reshoot the character's scenes.
I had a feeling that Chadwick Boseman was gonna be number one. Rest well King T’Challa, Jackie Robinson, James Brown and so on. And rest well in heaven to everyone else on this list.
Boseman's passing still hits hard. We are both South Carolina natives. What's sad is that the town of Anderson where he was born has a small art tribute vs a reasonable memorial statue in his honor.
Chadwick Boseman will always be a soft spot for me. It feels unfair and like such a steal of a great man who had more to give the world. And for him to have literally fought his way through Cancer to deliver the movies he did is so heroic in its own right, let alone none of us knowing until he was gone. Makes the entire MCU run hit different in retrospect, esp his line about death in “Captain America: Civil War” 😢 Rest In Peace to every actor/actress on this list. ❤🌹
If the list had more actors, they could have had Massimo Troisi from Il Postino. He pushed off heart surgery to finish the movie and died 12 hours after the camera wrapped. He received two posthumous Oscar nominations for Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay.
I remember being SHOCKED when I learned that Chadwick Boseman had died 😭 He seemed so healthy and energetic with his MCU movies! He did such an amazing job and will always be remembered and respected for what he accomplished especially in such a short time

Alan Rickman was true British acting royalty. As much as I love his turns as Snape and Hans Gruber, my favorite role of his is Phil Allen in the movie Blow Dry. His performance as a former championship winning hairdresser turned barber was a funny/heartbreaking/inspiring watch. It also marked the beginning of his very close friendship with the late actress Natasha Richardson. (And why Liam Neeson asked him to be a pallbearer at her funeral.)

When Chadwick died; a part of me died. It meant that much. As a person of color…what that young man accomplished… in film and in life…it meant everything. And to learn, suddenly, that he was no longer in this world…it just broke me.
I was in utter shock when I heard that Chadwick had passed away. I didn't even know that he was sick with cancer. I love his portrayal as The Black Panther!! WAKANDA FOREVER.
I was absolutely gutted when I heard the news about Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther was and still is my favorite Marvel movie. Incredible what human willpower can accomplish. I was (and still am) in absolute awe when I found out that Chadwick Boseman did all the Marvel movies with cancer.
I remember hearing Raul reason for making street fighter 20 years ago and i loved it
Pedro Armendaríz's last line in "From Russia With Love" was made more eerie knowing what was to come afterwards.
what is it??
@@robertdominicceasarsalvill2221 Think it's " I've had a particularly fascinating life.... Would you like to hear about it? You would?" which he says on the train before he's killed
Chadwick’s death is the saddest because he was bullied before he died and I hope the people bullied are being tormented for it, this is a good way to not only humble yourself but to shut tf up if you don’t have anything nice to say about anyone 💯, RIP Chadwick Boseman 🕊️
“…but for me, it was Tuesday.” The coldest line ever delivered. Man was such a legend
Very good work and probably the most touching list you have ever made. Thanks.
The most surprising performance is definitely Raul Julia's. It was a dominant and effective performance in a much-expected but average movie.
And I must ask, why is Chadwick's James Brown performance so under-mentioned?
Chadwick Boseman was an amazing person ❤😢
How was John Wayne not on the list? He knew he was dying of cancer In fact , there were days that he couldn't make it to filming because he had so much Pain
Before know checkmate
He dying before start?
No kidding.... grrr
My sisters and I saw Alice Through The Looking Glass in theaters. I’ve only seen it that one time I believe but I had no idea Alan Rickman was 1. The caterpillar yet and 2. That he was dying 😭❤️ What an amazing actor and man!
Rest in Peace Chadwick Boseman. 🕊 🙇🏿♂️🙇🏿♀️
When Chadwick died; a part of me died. It meant that much. As a person of color…what that young man accomplished… in film and in life…it meant everything. And to learn, suddenly, that he was no longer in this world…it just broke me.
Chadwick Boseman still hits hard 😢😢😢
I was in utter shock when I heard that Chadwick had passed away.
I didn't even know that he was sick with cancer. I love his portrayal
as The Black Panther!! WAKANDA FOREVER.
I've only seen Inception, Edward Scissorhands, Black Rain, Magnolia, The Deer Hunter, Street Fighter and the MCU stuff with Chadwick Boseman.
You forgot to mention Michael Jeter, who made his last movie Open Range, knowing he was dying of cancer.
His lines in that, reading Costner's character's will, were soooo good.
RIP to them all 💔
Chadwick died 6 days after my dad did. I didn't know much about him but I was devastated for his family. He seemed like such a good person.
The actor from Black Rain was a very famous and loved comedian actor in Japan .
This is what I call 'Admiration for their work'. They will be missed.
So tragic 😢. RIP Chadwick. You will forever be missed 😢
Damn, I didn't expect to shed a tear watching this video.
It is tragic
Raul Julia was so great in Presumed Innocent.
I was absolutely gutted when I heard the news about Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther was and still is my favorite Marvel movie. It also hit really close to home for me cause my dad had his first surgery for colorectal cancer in 2016 so by 2020, at which time my dad had had his second cancer surgery and has now by 2024 has had a third, I was intimately aware of how badly treatment can ravage the body. RIP King T’Challa, WAKANDA FOREVER!
You forgot Elizabeth Sladen, she was a major fan favorite in the Whoniverse. She played Sarah Jane Smith and during the last series of The Sarah Jane Adventures, she couldn't complete the final story due to have been ailing from cancer which she kept to herself.
I came to the comments to say that. Her and John Hurt. The final War Doctor audio is him and Jacqueline Pierce acting together. Its evil sadder listening to the behind the scenes of it, everyone talking about looking forward to working with them again.
Wakanda 4Eva! 🙌
metatron in Dogma is how I best know Alan Rickman, he's a bloody genius of an actor, everyone should watch that movie.
Giving their all so that we could enjoy their final characters 😢
Awesome video. I loved every second of it.
Chadwick boseman well always be our king, our black panther wakanda forever
The way Spencer Tracy fought for his life so he could finish his last movie before he died is beyond words!
You forgot Edward G Robinson's performance in Soylent Green. His death scene is an emotional gut punch. It still gets to me 50 years later.
Chadwick Boseman’s death hits harder since he was still so young. 😢
WakandaForever 💜🖤
Pure legends. Alan Rickman-fantastic in Die Hard and Severus Snape. Raul Julia-perfect Gomez. Chadwivk Boseman, young. Shame. Glory and respect to them. May they enjoy with angels
Chadwick and Raul Julia both deserved be number 1 on this list.
John Cazale is probably the most prominent in this list while making The Deer Hunter. Then comes Raul Julia in Street Fighter.
Chadwick Boseman and Alan Rickman were the 2 that affected me the most!! I was introduced to Alan Rickman in the 1st Die Hard and he was always a favorite of mine. I saw an interview with Chadwick talking about the sequel to Blank Panther and he said he was dead!! Turned out it was true, devastated me!!!! I really wanted and needed more from him but his legacy continues!!!!
Man I cried like a baby on the opening scene of Black Panther because I know those tears from the actors/actresses were coming from a place of love and unbearable sadness 😭😭😭
You missed Massimo Trosi from “Il Postino” … that performance gave him an Oscar nomination
