I MUCH rather follow the recipe from a humble lady cooking in her kitchen than that of famous chef!

Thank you for the video and recipe. We traveled to Greece this year and enjoyed all of the food. The 2 best meals I ate were moussaka and roast chicken. I can't wait to try this recipe.

That looks awesome. Is that a bechamel on the top? And what type of cheese did you use? I appreciate tradition, so I want to make it the authentic way

The white sauce is becahmel sauce- made with milk. - flour- butter
In other words a rioux- it’s a white sauce- add a touch of nutmeg - salt and pepper

To be specific, moussaka uses a form of besciamella (bechamel) known as "besciamella densa," which is a very thick and enriched version with much more roux (note the spelling) and also egg yolks. It is spreadably thick, but you can pour it while it's hot. Many people whisk in some Graviera cheese, and then sprinkle some Kefalotyri on top to form a golden crust.
