Hi Ken, from England, lovely easy to follow recipe. I had a Greek friend many years ago at work and she taught me how to cook mousaka the way they cooked it on her island passed down through several generations. She used mince lamb to which she added cinnamon and red wine. She didn't use potatoes just aubergines, it was scrumptious. 👋🏻🇬🇧💝
You are so clear. You make recipes easier than expected
You are an excellent teacher and chief
Thank you so much Grace!!!
Ken, I love to watch your videos. Your down to earth personality, your technique, your manner of explaining step by step instructions on preparing Greek dishes are very appealing.
Thanks very much Elaine!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I am so subscribing. There is something about chefs that cook in a very homely kitchen that makes me want to eat the food. I love this version of the recipe> Thank you so much.

My high school friend Eoanna got me a job at her uncle's Greek restaurant. We'd get a free meal. I'm Italian. Eoanna would order the Lasagna and I'd order the Moussaka! Lol. I love it more then Lasagna. It's the bechamel that i love!
😂😂😂👍👍👍

That I will make again. I’ve had moussaka but not like this one.
Thank you Ken.😃
Thank you so much!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
You're doing great..don't change anything
Thanks Ken, fantastic recipe. I have been looking for some time for moussaka recipe without frying. Your steps are really easy to follow.
I tried moussaka from a high end green restaurant called Santorini in Vaughan and omg it's the best thing I ever ate!!!
I slice my eggplants and potatoes. I prepare two large trays with baking paper and add eggplants on one and potatoes on the other tray. I brush with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper and add on top baking paper and bake for half an hour. Then I start to assemble my moussaka
👍👍👍
Thank you maestro ! !!!🙏That was really fantastic !!! 👌👍🙏🙏🙏😍😍😍❤️

I never heard of Moussaka until a couple days ago and I'm "mature". This is the fourth recipe I decided looked good but this will be the first one I prepare! I don't mind the task involved in cooking but this is too simple to pass up.
Thank you.
Thank you!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I freaking love this guy!
+Rachel Monk LOL Thank you:-)) xo
Babe, no cinnamon in the meat? Have I been making it wrong???
Rachel Monk When it comes to Greek tomato sauces, there's always at least 1/2 tsp. in there....
I am happy to hear it is correct, because it is such a unique and amazing smell combined with the meat in the oven. Moussaka days are heaven. I curse at the oven waiting for it to be done. "Hurry up, bitch! I am dying for you."
I will watch your cabbage rolls next... I like mine, but maybe yours are better....
Hi Ken, love ur wonderful personality & wise cooking tips!!

@@KensGreekTable 😍😍😍😍😍
I grew up on this dish and the best cook I've ever known was my godmother who is the only person I ever met born in Montecarlo. My parents were both amazing cooks but Choupie could have a 3 Michelin star restaurant … and always left something out when asked for a recipe. So began my career as a food detective :) cinnamon and a hint of cloves, who knew? excellent video!
Thanks so much Evelyn!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Haha no mental block Nettie. I didn’t add oregano in this....
😂👍💪✌️❤️
Excellent demonstrations! You made it easy to understand.
PS: I love Beagles
Haha thanks very much Margaret!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Mitso is one of my biggest fans.... 🐶😂👍
I happened to have some sweet potatoes that I combined with the russets that gave it a yummy sweetness with the hot sausage I used with ground beef. I improvised on a recipe that was basically your method --much easier and healthier if it weren't for the belchamel. I served it with homemade olive bread and lemon bars for desert--total Greek style indulgence.
Thanks for sharing ken
Thank you!!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I ate this long time ago i think way back 1998 its been 20 years now i will make this mousaka so that my only son taste this too. Thanks ken so much God bless.

Bravo! Thank you Ken.I am a Greek American who has never made Moussaka! Can you believe it? Made Pasticio, Spanakopita, and Lamb but never Moussaka. You explained it very thoroughly and you are right it is not hard just a matter of layering. Going to be having a Greek themed dinner party within a few weeks and this will be on the menu......with some Retsina! LoL! Thanks again
Hey Stacy,
Thank you for your comment!!!! It really is easy if you’re organized. Good luck and let me know how it turns out:-))

great Job..u r very clean...
Thank you!!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Another fantastic dinner idea that's so much like my mother's old recipe. Great to know you're Canadian too, EY??! 😆I'm from Montréal! ⚘
😂👍🙏🏼✌️❤️💪🙌
The handling of the eggplant and potatoes is fabulous. The one thing I always add to Bechamel is Parmesan cheese and I would continue to add that. In addition, I top the Moussaka with some grated Parmesan before baking. I am definitely going to try the process because it really shortens the time required. Excellent.
I would take the extra step of flash frying the potatoes for some crust on them, but besides that this is a really good guide on making moussaka. Thanks sir!
Thank you for your comment:-)) You can totally use whatever method for the potatoes you choose as long as you enjoy the recipe....
Cheers,
Ken🇨🇦

Excellent job. You killed me with the "ooo behave" lol.
LOL Thank you!!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
WOW! I'm so happy I came upon this video by accident. I've made Moussaka before, but it's been a long time. So, I made the meat sauce last night from my Greek cookbook & thought I'd try watching a moussaka video for fun; well, when I was following a different video, the eggplant/potato business was NOT working for me. The next thing I know your video came on. LOVED IT!!! So, I ended up correcting my eggplant by microwaving them, changed casserole dishes, added breadcrumbs to my meat like you said (awesome), and followed your bechamel sauce. I just took it out of the oven and it looks faaaaantastic! Thanks a million Chef Panagopoulos. p.s. I'm Cdn and that bag of milk line cracked me up! All the best, happy cooking & OPAAAAAA !!!!
Ok, now you’ve moved waaaaaaay up on the fan club list LOL Thank you so much for your kind words. They are very much appreciated:-)) Also, I’ll kill two birds with one stone here and say thanks for coming to my defence LOL Much ❤️, ✌️ out....
