- This was my Fiancée's first time watching TROPIC THUNDER and I don't think she was ready for the FOOLISHNESS coming her way! Tropic Thunder is back and forth hilarious, one of my favorite comedy movies, hopefully she thinks the same!

Not realising it was Tom Cruise till the very end was Internet gold
Im really surprized how many reaction channels dont realize until the end. Tom cruise got such a recognizable face..even if it would not be tom, i would think it was him.
@@Sizzlik i didn't realize it till the 2nd call with the hobo's dick cheese line 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Face and voice. My then 8 year old old niece knew it immediately. How an adult doesn't get it is beyond me.
RDJ isn't doing "dumb stuff", this is one of his most beloved roles!
RDJ actually did the DVD commentary as Lincoln Osiris. He really never broke character.
Awww man we definitely have to check that out!
I'm pretty sure he was his Australian character for that
That is hilarious.
@@READY_OR_NOT he was in character as Lincoln Osiris until the wig came off in the movie, then he was in character as Kirk Lazarus for the remainder.
@@dezzconnor8360 And then he became Robert Downey Jr when the credits rolled.
RDJ at one point is white American actor playing an Australian who is playing a black man who is pretending to be Vietnamese...amazing
Who is speaking Mandarin Chinese (with an Australian accent).
"I'm the dude..PLAYing the dude disguised as another dude!"
One of my favorite lines from any movie. 😂
And accurate, since RDJ was really pretending to be Russell Crowe.
You the one who don't know what dude he is😂 never gets old😂
Brandon Jackson (Alpa Chino) did an interview and said that RDJ was always in character. One time RDJ was late to set and said to Brandon “you know how we always late.” That had me dying!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
lmao, the tom cruise realization was just 10/10
Rdj is being ironic and satirical. He's making fun of actors who would go to these links and be completely serious.
And thats all it is.
Lengths not links
He’s actually calling out diversity hiring, ahead of time.
Robert Downey Jr received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for this role.
Any other year he would have won, but Heath Ledgers Joker performance couldn't be touched.
Lol I legitimately think it could be touched. And by this performance.
^^^^^^^ agreed. Turned into the feel good award after Heath passed
"TUGGER!! I GOT THE TiVo!!!"
The fact he went that far to not get fired, and the fact he thought he was getting fired over a tivo will always be my favorite running joke in any movie 😂😂😂
It’s ironic that Osiris is telling him he went to far with over acting with simple jack while he himself is doing it with being black lol
The agent took the money and the plane then used them to save his friend.
"I told you it's going to get offensive"
It's not offensive.
It's humor.
I don't read the script, script reads me.
The end with the thrown Tivo, the movie alluded to it throughout as Matthew's character was constantly playing those Wii games, preparing him for the ultimate toss at the end of the movie.
"This movie is about to be a hot-ass mess". That, is the best description of the movie I've ever heard. The good news is that we're back to laughing at all of the ridiculousness of this movie and recognizing it for the satire it is. For so long, people doing reaction videos were afraid to laugh at the Simple Jack stuff, "retard" references, blackface, etc. Everyone got too sensitive and forgot that this was satire and was mocking the entire movie industry, pretentious actors, etc.
It was Tom Cruise's idea to dance and for his character to have big hands!😂
He wasn't originally intended to even be in the movie 😂 he basically demanded that Stiller wrote him in. Without Tom there would have been no Les Grossman.
I am so glad he did
11:53 "How you get booty sweat in 69?" Well see, when a man and a women love each other very much...
Good one 🤣🤣🤣
Saw it theaters 😆 yes I was the same about Tom Cruise. I had no idea. lol My favorite part is when RDJ said "Any Tips?" The face he makes right before he grabs the map 😆 🤣 😂 whole damn theater laughing 😃 AWESOME SHOW THERE 👏 😄 yall keep up the good work 👏 🙌 👍 👌
I’ve heard people saying that because RDJ is more about making fun of them ( like actors who would do some dumb stuff like this ) that’s why a lot of people saying it didn’t offend them + Jamie Foxx talked about how RDJ wad worried doing it and how Leo was little worried starting Django but he’s like both them were acting an we fuck with them so it wasn’t coming from it in a hateful and demeaning place, like it usually does when people do black face/ playing a role where the character is awful
Also love you guys videos
Tom Cruise was basically playing Harvey Weinstein, but nobody clocked it at the time.
Weinstein wouldn’t dare act like that in person he’d get his ass kicked.
"Someone said they were close to me?"
OMG - Ben Stiller was EPIC with that line. Perfect comedic timing.
I recognize *Tom Cruise* through his voice but I'm glad you waited to the credits for her to find out it was *Tom Cruz*
I remember watching this with my family and none of us had any idea.
This is a parody of saving private Ryan, deer hunter, mission impossible, Indiana jones, platoon, we were soldiers, apocalypse now. U have to see all those to truly understand the conversations and attire
The “what do you mean” segment have always been my favorite overall quote of this movie💪🏾😂
Lex Grossman needs his own movie.
I think lex gross man was supposed to be Harvey Weinstein!
Isn’t is great!
Well done for not telling her it was Tom 😄 you’re better at delayed gratification then me, I would’ve blurted it out
We need more movies like this! A group of actors that always wanted to work with each other and have Fun.
Jay baruchel has another one like that with his real life friends . This is the end lol
Does anyone else think RDJ was channeling his inner Mel Gibson when he broke character? The eyes, hair and voice….he was the spitting image of MG.
16:40 bro fr that is my favorite line to use from this movie "you talkin' to me this whole time?"
Frfr, I love hitting people with that one 🤣🤣
I heard (cannot confirm) that the NAACP previewed this movie and was ok with the Robert Downy Jr. Character ... The idea is that is spóofs the many times white actors played ethnic rolls.
"Damn, that felt just like bologna for some reason." "For 400 years, that word has kept us down." - RDJ, you're killing me, man, killing me!
One of the points with RDJ doing this character and going 100% in is that he's mocking method actors (especially with stuff like him refusing to drop the character when he knows that they aren't filming). Secondly he, and the movie as a whole, is mocking the whole unacceptable and reprehensible Hollywood practice of putting A-list actors in movie in black actor roles. I guess we could still be offended, but we can't be more offended than when the Wayons put on whiteface to do the 2004 "White Chicks" movie (which I don't think offended anyone - we get it, it's comedy and not meant to be offensive).
What A-List actors have played black roles???
@@clevelandcbi Al Jolson and Judy Garland come to mind.
I heard Tom Cruise did all that dancing in the end himself, without a stuntman.
Legit didn't know it was Tom Cruise till it popped up in the credits. Apparently RDJ was concerned bout the role, but funny enough he got no heat when it came out and Ben Stiller got DOG PILED on for Simple Jack lol.
30:01 - That's the real Jennifer Love Hewitt too. lol
3:29 "Secret mission in South-East Vietnam" - Come on, no US troops ever made it that far.
That should have given it away 🤣🤣
@@BAUScoupleReacts Yeah, I mean, it's not like there ever were any US troops in Saigon, right?
One of the funniest movies of all time. The last movie to be offensively funny in the tradition of Blazing Saddles. Back when we could laugh at ourselves together.
This movie is TOO GOOD! 🤣🤣 Blazing saddles is another one we need to get around to watching!
LOVED AND STILL LOVE YHID MOVIE. I am black and not offended because I have brains and I'm not sensitive and easily offended.
My wife and I saw it in the Theater and when he was on the TV talking, I looked to my wife and said, is Tom Cruise in this.
What up. That's a nice Arnold impersonation! Bzzt..
He even did the character for the DVD commentary 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
lmao she said Isley Brothers 🤣
RDJ was hilarious
you guys are great!!!!!! so funny !!!!! you have a new subscriber for THIS watch!!!!
Welcome to the family! 🤗 So glad you enjoyed our reaction! 😁
@@BAUScoupleReacts you guys are a blast! You guys MA MA MA MAKE ME HAPPAY!! Hahaha
Your fiancee just earned you a sub.. She is hilarious.
I love this reaction😂😂. So good.
We appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed! 😁😁
*I need someone who speaks American goddammit*
My favorite line in the whole movie was, " Survive!"😂😂😂😂
"Survive" was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
RDJ was absolutely freaking hilarious 😂😂😂
But i feel it kinda got that wild appearance tryna be a Soul Brotha
When he said "you people .....? Wdym you people?"
Great job Guys !
Such a brilliantly done comedy. Imho, a top 5 alltime great 👍🏻
This movie is gold ❤No boundaries.
Great reaction. This was a hilarious satirical portrayal of what the ridiculous Hollywood movie biz is about. I read Les was loosely based on a certain very influential producer at the peak of his career but is now dead
This is a GREAT reaction. So much fun
You guys are hilarious!!!
Les grossman was bothering me the whole way through, too. I figured it out just before the credits, during the final scene in his office.
Wow! She is so articulate
No one ever notes how funny it is that Brandon's movie character also has a ridiculous way of talking. He says "ya cause we all talk like this" but Alpa switches to a bad caricature for the movie within a movie and has no problem with it. So my question to the reviewers, which is worse? Alpa's in character version or RDJ's? Is Alpa throwing rocks from a glass house when he knocks Kirk for how he does it?

18:11 😂
Always funny to read the comments about if its controversial or funny that RDJ did "blackface" in a comedic way....what about the movie "white chics" was there a debate if its ok to "whiteface"? People should get their shit together and just enjoy comedy if its not in a degrading but satyrical way.
27:23 i scream this in my head every time 😂😂
What's the point to cutting off the most hilarious moments...
It wasn't in his drawers 😜
You two are FAS !!!
Everybody gay once in a while
It's Hollywood baby 😎🤣
It’s Hollywood!
This movie shouldn’t be this good lol
I’ll give you both a heads up this movie will make you laugh your socks off, but a question for you, but would you both be interested in reacting to the movie maximum overdrive for the first time if you have ever seen it
We've never heard of it but we'll look into it!
It's cool to think that RDJ did this the same year that he did Iron Man. Heck of a breakout year for an actor, complete with the Oscar nomination for this. So happy for him to win this year. Also, RDJ fans should search the Police song "Driven to Tears" with him f you haven't before. He sits in with Sting live and slays it.
WTF Jim Jones from Dipset doing here! :D
I think this was made 08 or 09 if I had to guess without looking it up.
I will like for yall to rwact to "Boomerang" starring Eddie Murphy
I don't get the not recognizing Tom Cruise. When I saw it in theaters, the moment he came on screen every started dying and people all over the theater were saying "Tom Cruise?!". I don't think any of us had ever seen him curse and be so wild like that. It was hilarious because it was so far away from his typical roles and personas. It was almost like going to see a Shakespeare movie and Samuel L Jackson pops up on the screen. 😂
please react to the 1997 Selena movie
Reviews
Hey ❤❤❤plz new contect indian super hit movies RRR and ANIMAL❤❤
Only role i like Tom Cruise
Ngl i really wanna see this movie wit will farrell in it now 😂
Imagine be offended by a comedy. Imagine.
This movie is not offensive - just the weak would think that
You being offended where offense hasn't been expressed is not only ironic but hilarious. Keep guarding your imaginary outpost, soldier!
RDJ has gotten too many passes from your people for it to matter if it offended anyone or not. Most black people seem to consider him an honorary brother.
I don't understand how anyone can get offended by RDJ's character. The character is not making fun of black people. The character is making fun of Hollywood and the stereotype caricatures they've had black people play in military and action films. At the same time, it's making fun of actors that take on roles to play other ethnicities than their own and think that they are method acting by embodying the typical Hollywood caricatures people of that character's ethnicity have had to play in military and action films. His character is brilliant and meant to be ridiculous and waaay over top. That is the point. RDJ kills this role. For me, it is on par with the first Iron Man, Tony Stark outing. And if you are black and offended, I would question if you see yourself in that role and that is what gets you triggered 🤷🏾♂️.
Robert Downey Jr nailed 100%...,"doing extra?".. really?.. nobody had a problem with "White Chicks" Being done...lol . right?
It's amazing how weak and humorless the current generation is.
I'm sorry but you guys interupt so quickly and often that you ruin the setup
Loved the energy and reaction to this amazing flick!
We appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed the reaction to this iconic movie 🤣🤣🤣
