Q: How fast you wanna be ?
I like how the answer came first before the question
@@ASTONMartin-vf1ix Hi, Captain Obvious here. This is called a pre-move. Nicely done, OP.
Respect for getting this out so quick
That's what she said
Would have loved to see a world chess championship between these two.
Imagine after drawing all the classical games, then all of the rapid games, we could watch them play faster and faster.
Hikaru is one of the few who can stand up to Magnus in the faster time formats.
7 menit Magnus vs 10.menit nakamura 😃
Hikaru wouldn't draw Magnus he has won exactly once against Magnus in Classical 8 years ago and lost 14 times
@@terrarossa-tk6zu world championship classical matches rarely see results other than a draw.
Hikaru is not strong enough to be a world champion. He's fast but in classical time control he's simply not that impressive.
@@abebuckingham8198 sure, number 2 in the world in classical, one of only 14 players in the history of the game to cross 2800, is not impressive 😂
I agree that in the era of competing Magnus it is hard if not downright impossible to get the title, that does not mean the others are not impressive.
The real world chess champion is Fabiagnus Hikaruana Nakumarlsen.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hikanus
Looks like he took the top 3 and put them into the blender.
True true true, sooooooo true
Any true-ers out there?
XDDD
Magnus was freaking frustrated. He banged his fist on the table lol
What a sore loser!😅
Great observation! 👍
@@cw6136yeah especially for us podcasters that are listening to audio only to save on bandwidth
Kasparov style
I think that Hikaru deserved to win, though - his line was inspired, and if he had dared to play the moves that we found later, Magnus would not have had a chance.
Watched this live, Hikaru even apologized after the Armageddon. Such great spirit between these two❤
Hikaru is a child
@@FerrisMcLauren then how did you come into this world, I wonder 🤔
Magnus did looked disgusted but I guess that’s natural after a tough loss
@@FerrisMcLauren And you are a completely mature adult, right? lmao
@@FerrisMcLaurenhahahaha cope mangoose fangirl. Hikaru remains king❤❤❤
Carlsen only has six armageddon losses out of 32 games in NorwayChess history:
Nakamura in 2024
Abdusattorov in 2023 (draw)
So in 2022
Anand in 2022
Tari in 2022
Caruana in 2019
Thank you for this information.
How tf would u know these tho 😂. Anyways...6/32 is still such a good score. What a 🐐
@@mubaraksenju7521 the Almighty database I suppose
@@mubaraksenju7521 this was on one of the live streams. When they interviewed Hikaru they did show this results.
@@mubaraksenju7521It was shown during the live coverage.
Hikaru vs. Magnus always bangs!
Idk about always. We've seen hikaru get dominated many times lol
@@bradleyw1753it's about the fight he puts out that makes the overall match so amazing, we know magnus has no real rivals that can match up to him so anything that comes even close works and hikaru is the only guy who seems to hold himself somewhat good against magnus after all these years
@@bradleyw1753 Simply Hikaru is the most consistent guy that Magnus has ever faced. It seems Hikaru's performance never get worse in every formats through the years so far that's why Magnus enjoyed playing him all the time. it's just Magnus is too strong
Pause
@@thirstforknowledge._Hikaru is the guy Magnus dominates the most lmao 14 Classical wins and 1 loss. Hikaru hype comes from blitz and bullet matches from the pandemic
Got excited for Hikaru vs Hikaru at 2:20
Everyone seeing the evaluation bar has been so deceiving and harmful to chess understanding. Quite often, even if the bar shows a big advantage, it ends up being a long complicated engine line that humans will simply not see, especially with little time left.
I remember watching some tournaments a couple years back where chess24 offered two different broadcasts - one with eval bar and one without. I wish they would bring that back.
Never ask for like, comment, Share... True gentleman. Best whishes for you
Much respect . Also no shouting etc, or crazy faces on video thumbnails.
@@indianfan1029not crazy but Chad like faces
Frankly, I saw the Kf1 move and thought it was simple enough. But Magnus saw so much deeper in such time trouble that the queen sacrifice to prolong the game was actually the only practical move to extend the game with how Magnus's pieces were hunting the White King. This was a most deserved win by Hikaru, because if he didn't play that way, the pawn would have been unstoppable. Props to Hikaru and Magnus.
This is just psychological battle of world no 1 vs world no 2, showing how great they are especially Magnus when ran out of time. Truly match of the year
I mean it’s a match where Magnus does start with less time so this is probably the most common way black loses in this format
destroyed maldnus carlosen in arma
@@universalplayz7496not really. Armageddon is way more advantageous towards black.
Match of the year? No
@@malsawmzela609magnus has 11 wins out of 12 white Armageddon game.
"Punish this insolence" is a phrase I will have to use more.😆😆
🤣
Thought there was some dirt on my screen but I realized it's a goat ...
😂😂
I thought it's a horse
This is the best rivalry in chess.
Magnus played well today. Everyone know Magnus cannot show his full strength in rapid chess, but he managed to keep up with his opponent, often referred to as the king of blitz.
@emanuellucin who is referred to as the king of blitz?
I always liked his chess moniker "speed demon." And the level of respect he gets for blitz even compared to Magnus.
Magnus is a demon in every section of the game . Strange that he lost on time . 7 mins n Magnus lost on time . But the comeback was pretty much Carlsenesque
"Magnus cannot show his full strength in rapid chess"... mate have you seen the ratings? Magnus is #1 in all three major time controls (classical, rapid and blitz).
@@victoroliveira6828 and also won both rapid and blitz world championship last year
Tough loss. The way Magnus has turned this around is incredible.
I love Magnuses passion. And Hikaru really did well in deciding what prep to use. Just enough to win some time on the goat.
You should also emphasize the one dominating the whole game and the point where situation turns around
When it comes to flagging, no one beats hikaru
0 World Champion 😂😂😂
Goat Magnus ❤
And once again our RUclips hero posts another fine chess video with almost zero time left on the clock!
What a battle!!! Between friends it is crazy
they are certainly NOT friends...
@@Jonathan-ec9ppall the top chess players are friends.
I found the first two "pause the video" moves very quickly, but without an in depth analysis as to how they would work in all lines - so it would be scary to play them !
cant believe hikaru didnt upload yet
He might be busy with the tournament
@@humbleguy1533 doesn't usually stop him. He uploaded it before your comment
@@dessertstorm7476 he even starts streaming DURING a match, when he goes to the confessional booth 🤣
Only thing stopping magnus from winning is his own time...
Thanks for always reading and getting feedback from the comments really nice to see the clock
Great play by Hikaru and Magnus as well coming back in the game after losing his Queen I would’ve liked to see Hikaru find that Kf1 move when he needed it but like so many players when time is of essence they miss the winning move Thanks Agadmator
Crazy game 😮
Small question around 4:30, where Hikaru's Knight is hanging. Why can't Magnus take? If Hikaru goes Re8, Queen takes, Bishop takes and Rook takes.
That means Knight + Bishop + Rook for Queen. Should be more than fair.
Do you mean the 3:50 mark?
after rook tskaes bishop white queen takes knight in tgea center which is now undefended. Always look for a couple of next moves after exchange !
I wonder if Magnus ever burns time on purpose just to make his opponents think he’s out of prep
I used to do that. Tends to cause opponent to stop burning time to find the best move.
I doubt it. Every second is valuable to them.
Grischuk intensifies
About 3:48
Punish Harrwitz for his great insolence and activate your inner Morphy.
One second increment OTB is useless
Can you consider going back to the old background or something similar. It really makes a huge diffrence.
4:34 instead of recapturing the rook you should check the king and take the queen
10 seconds is crazy
Did anyone notice that Hikaru has two peg legs? He cut off his legs and replaced them with two giant chess pieces
i found king f1 so fast i was wondering what you were even talking about with rook e1 check threat, you'd still have a queen for rook knight and 2 connected pawns on the queenside
he actually did find king f1, timestamp @2:40:30
He found it, but on the live stream that I checked he was talking about Nc2+ instead of Ng2+. Way easier variation than one that Agad shows.
The standing handshake says a lot about this legendary matchup
It's nice to see Hikaru at 2803. Playing for the enjoyment and entertainment aspect has definitely made a difference in his game
10:00 I was pretty sure its rook e1 because rook take rook then you don't take the rook but promote to a queen on d1 then rook take queen rook take rook check only move king f2 then knight d3 wins , but then i realized after queen promotion white could just take the knight because the queen cover e1 , really amazing how magnus found that with the time he has.
Thank you for explaining... I had wasted lot of time thinking of it👍

Your welcome 🤍
A world championship between these two will be the most watched event ever in the history of chess. Someone needs to be make this happen before they retire!
Very interesting to watch in chess base india,...i suggest everyone to watch this match in that channel
"Insolence"...ok ok, I see you! Im going to make it a goal to use that word this week. Agad teaching me knowledge up in here. 😊
Agad premoved a whole video
A fascinating game between two gladiators!!! 🤼♂️
What if instead of night g2 go night c4 discovery check and pick up the rook? Can anyone show this line if its better?
You said it's hard, but kf1 is not hard to find. Ofcourse that whole line is not easy to see. But if Magnus's only threat is to bring his rook down to e2, king to f1 is the easiest move to spot.
And in the first second we have a completely new video.
Thx .. your videos are awesome
I watch a hell of a lot of AI chess, but Magnus and his gang always keep me interested in human play (with the help of agadmator, of course).
Hikarus smile at the end 🤣
Doesnt the clock beep when the timer runs out first ?
Excellent game, love it
when Magnus defeated Nepo in 2021 WCC, he no longer preparing for any match format.
What? Y’all dont follow chess don’t you. Hes been winning everything
I don't know if I should be amazed or not as I'm finding all the right answers to pause the video moments lately
8:04 why can't Hikaro take the black knight with his pawn?
Where is Levon Aronian?
why was the knight not taken by the rook as per the example
4:34 why can’t you still do rook e8 to win the queen?
The Grand El Clasico
Pragg vs alireza , Armageddon match.
At 4:07 what about queen to c2?
At 9:32 instead of Rc2.. What about Rd1
Amazing accuracy by both players in a complex game. Hikaru one of the best players never to play for world championship, assuming Ding defends his title.
Show the pragg and ding game
I g one second increment in over the board armeggedon chess isnt enough although that creates thrill but two seconds increment would have saved the draw for carlsen
The whole point is not to give so much increment till time trouble doesn’t exist anymore. 1 second is the sweet spot over no increment. The 1 second is not for you to play on increment.
Time pressure is literally the theme of armageddon.
Very exciting game 🤩!
8:47 what about knight C4? (I am too lazy.. somebody do it for me)
Extraordinary game!
Man vs Machine, and the Man won. a tag different but good news to chess community. thrash the engines and vantage bars.
Antonio is speed
Wow. Great game
Lovely game of chess that
Nothing against the rest of the top players, but I would really love to see these two play for the world title.
Why Hikaru's rating is still 2794 ??
Please update it from nex match.
Cool video, first time i see Hikaru vs Hikaru match 😅
Just me got confused with agdmator swaping the names during the game?
Who would have won if there was more time?
#suggestion Caruana vs Firouzja round 7 Norway Chess '24
It's an interesting time format for an OTB game; however, it may want to be tweaked to account for its physicality.
heh, they call it Armageddon for a reason)
I've heard others say that this time pressure is the point of Armageddon and I'm inclined to agree. The time deficit has to be a real drawback for Black, Black is not supposed to be able to play on increment in the end game. It would make getting a draw too easy
Time pressure is the point of Armageddon. Black is not supposed to be able to play on Increment, even if they play very quickly
Time pressure is the point of Armageddon. Black is not supposed to be able to play on Increment, even if they play very quickly
So proud of Hikaru!!
Excellent.
What "former" champion are you referring to? Magnus is undefeated in classical chess format matches...
didnt win the latest world chess championship, therefore is not the current world chess champion. or do you think that if someone won the world championship and then retired without playing any more matches, they would remain the official champion forever?
@@zoid_on_youtube Clearly the greatest chess player of our generation, fighting computer preps etc. who else???
This Magnosis Carlison guy is pretty tough
Yeah. He’s probably got a chance to become world champion some day if he keeps up this level of intensity.
It took me a minute looking for forks but then I saw Rd4!
Great game
Love you !!!!
Agad is bullet 🏃
I’d move once, let time run out and tell all my friends we had the same number of pieces but I lost on time. 😂
hikaru playing on the side further from the clock to flag magnus LOL
Magnus the goat!!! Literally saved the game
Nothing wrong with being angry at failure. The key is to be polite to your opponent and the crowd and officials, but expecting no emotion is weird. If you don’t care, don’t play.
waiting for magnus' tweet about being distracted by someone somewhere wearing a smartwatch
Are you dumb?
This isnt classical
Also magnus only accused hans nieman. Stfu
How about Rcd1
good commentry !!!!!
