There are times I think, "I could do that."
And then I realize oh yeah, because I've been drinking.
Magnus is like Messi. You know what he is going to do, you prepare for it as much as you can but he anyway does it.
Like khabib
@@Layla-077 stop the meat riding please.
I actually think Robben is more suitable for this comparison. Everyone knew he will make a simple short dash towards the middle and then shoot with his left foot and he still always did it. While Messi did all kinds of great things on the field so no actual signature move
His playing style is hardly messy
And like Fischer in another way - everybody can see and (with analysis) understand the moves, nobody can replicate
At first it looked like Gukesh was going to destroy him but then got destroyed in the process.
Magnus is a combo of capablanca and Fischer with a dusting of Morphy.
More like Karpov and Fischer. Capablanca is in a league of its own 🤫
Prime Lasker> Capa
A bit of Stockfish mixed in his circuitry
@@abhirammsd3728 Lasker is not better than Capa at any stage.
I think more like a Capablanca Karpov. Not sure about Morphy....
"Hello, come with me to this dark forest , all will be well."
* adjusts hidden knife
Actually I think Gukesh was trying to lead Magnus into the dark forest 🌳 but unfortunately for Gukesh Magnus operates with an extra pair of high Beams and finds a way of his own
@@michaelmassaro4375magnus brings stockfish into the forest with him the whole time
In every tournament is a player that plays exceptional and briliant chess and derstroys everyone and the whole world stays speechless. Then Magnus arrives at the board....
Sees the player is Hans, leaves…
3000* vids and now i seem to be looking forward to the next one. well done.
Gukesh is showing the sparks of brilliance. He needs a little more time to reach his peak, probably a year or two.
He should explore the previous goats of chess....!!
Then he can succeed
He's still young so he will improve a ton in next few years.
He is just 17 , 22-24 yo makes more sens to be at the peak
Magnus showing Gukesh and the world why he refused to defend the title.Unbelievable!
He is a combination of all previous great players; Morphy, Capablanca, Tal, Fischer, Karpov, Kasparov, Anand.
Blitz isn't a strength of Gukesh.
@@curious_banda Right, whereas Magnus is the best at ... every time format :) That's why he's the GOAT (give or take)
@@curious_banda Does that make any difference? Dont think so...
@@curious_banda I guarantee Magnus would beat Gukesh in Classical or any other format as well
@@SemperMaximuswhaddup Pac?
well thanks for the advice! was planning to do so next wednesday
Good commentary. I love ur voice .
Seems Gukesh current weakness is fast time control
I think thats a well established truth. Just like Caruana, some people are not good at one second moves.
Yeah magnus said it himself, but he didnt literally said it's gukesh weakness. However, he said in the interview that gukesh plays more on calculation based so technically he is saying that his intuition is not that strong yet. Which makes it harder for him to play in a faster time control cause you barely use time.
Yeah, he's now at crossroads - focus full time on classical or start really training blitz and even bullet to improve his intuition.
Hans Niemann isn’t afraid of using his deep dark forest
Magnus is combo of every past players 💪💪💪🔥🔥
Crushed like bug
Magnus likes slow torture, but if you take him to sharp positions, he is equally good at those also
Fresh and cool haircut Agad!
Magnus is a machine & not human, 10 wins @ this level it's insane performance.
Nice! Good encore!
Can't wait fot the Tal game
So the upshot is Magnus blundered, but then bluffed his way out of trouble. haha nice
9:25 imagine there Gukesh play Na2 😁
He’s like a 4th degree BJJ blackbelt, or Judo master or any elite martial artist, you know the move is coming. You see it 25 moves ahead. Yet you blink and they submit you, or throw you, or knock you out like a flash of lightning. ⚡️
That trophy is very beautiful. Im from Morocco and I'm sad about missing this tournament in Casablanca.
Great game by the destroyer Magnus!
The brilliant attack followed by brilliant def what a game ❤
Just Magnus stuff.🔥🔥
Even Magnus's blunders are brilliant!
Great game
a masterpiece
i watched chessnetwork's video about this game, I'm not comparing channels or anything, but he explained something interesting about why Carlsen only fianchettoed the bishop on move 9. That was quite interesting!
This could have been the first match in world classical championship if Magnus continued playing.
He should reconsider in the future but it seems it’s a foregone conclusion Magnus won’t go that route I think Chess fans lose out because of that even though he’s won the event in the past
Although the fact that's it's a blitz game compromises that premise a lot
@@michaelmassaro4375he didnt say he'll stop playing!
even that would'be more fun to watch carlsen competing with world champ alongwith other top-tier guys
Magnus wasn't having fun prepping for a WCC match and he wasn't having fun anymore.
@@allanfifield8256 he's getting into chess960 format with no theory at all, as there's lot of memorization going on in the name of preparation by the help of stockfish, the chess engine
The caption is the mvp😂😂😂
Magnus here teaches Gukesh a lesson to remember.
Magnus is the Chess Ronaldo. He ages like a fine wine
Incredible calculating by magnus.
Unbelievable
3 best chess players right now.
1:magnus
2:late magnus
3:drunk magnus
The bar would be swinging like crazy in this one…
after Rxg6 you could directly go for Knight e5 and then get the king into safety through d7.
At 5:48 after black snags the e3 bishop and white plays Rxe6+, why does Be7 not work just claiming the extra material and refusing to let white have anything with fxe6?
Rxe6 at time 5:46 in the video can also be defended by Be7? Would that be right or does it worsen black's position further?
I had the same question. After Be7 engine continues with Qg7 attacking the rook, Rf8 only move, Rxc6 Nxd1 and Nxd5 with a big attack for white. It’s around +3 from that point forward.
Also wanted to mention that you win back the black knight that captured on d1 because after that sequence I just mentioned Nc7! is the big threat winning the queen so you have to continue with Qa5 only move and after that the king can pick up the knight Kxd1
Magnus, the King of Chess
Hi Antonio, thank you for analysing that game(Carlsen vs Gukesh...(never enter a dark forest with magnus) Really appreciated. My query is after magnus played Knight to c4....why Gukesh didn't go for Rook capture e6 check instead of Queen g2? Thanking you in advance
Regards Jean-marie
Magnus game with such an announcement on an upcoming Mikahail Tal game... It doesn't get much better than that. It's in about the same level of a new AlphaZero coverage or a Casablanca Immortal, if not better...
Hey Agad. There has been a lot of news about Tyler1 playing the cow opening and reaching 1900. Wondering if his random games are good enough for a video analysis. #suggestion
At 9:30, why not Nc5? Seems to me like it would solidify white's position
Well if ever I’m in a deep dark forest with Magnus I’d just let him help me get out lmao
Hi. Can you show the Game between Magnus Carlsen and Rey Enigma?
You look like the wine merchant from GOT who tried to kill danaerys except you drank some magic wine and now are no longer a dwarf
If you're playing chess in a forest, choose a bear instead of Magnus to play against.
3:37 - knight to f6
Maybe Gukesh could have beaten one of the Candidates with this bizarre opening, but never Magnus.
Surely those crazy positions would only ever be in Blitz?
Magnus 🎉
Knight e5😮
what game is the magnus quote at the top referencing?
Nice haircut!
I'm booked at the bar and barred from the library.
What if gukesh play rook take e6 immediately? Would magnus take with pawn back? Then bishop g6 check only move is king e7 pawn f5 sacrifice the queen bishop g5 check.... You can check this line I think!
This could’ve been a world championship 😪
The fastest man alive
Why not block Rook e6 check with Bishop e7?
Is it blitz or rapid ?
Instead of f7xRe6, can't Bf8 e7 ?
Magnus looking like woody from toy story
He will be holding a copy of Tales from the GrandMasters 😂
goat🐐
did you say the "Durant Defence"?
🐐
So Gukesh did not play Magnus he played his idea of Magnus
The boy is just 17😮
Magnus flew a Plane on 9/11
Magnus is the man who will drag you into a deep dark forest and torture you so much you'll beg to die
Not really. He'll drive you mad and hand you a rope.
Thats a bit dramatic
I love chess but holy shit this is extra 😂
I bet this guy writes fanfics lol
Ok Mr Bateman
5:12 what if you start with Q xh4?
If rook goes back to g5 and cuts off the queen's diagonal, the queen is getting trapped soon. That may not even be a good response by white, but it is uncomfortable.
Andrey Mikitin says: I believe Magnus win this endgame even he drink 3 l alcohol😂
Tal game, when❗❗ when😭😭😭
7 min!
@@agadmator aahh yess, that's the good stuff!
Vincent keymer is number 14 and 23 AT THE SAME TIME.
This man is a wizard!!! 😂
That list was showing Magnus's games. And as the tournament was a double round robin, Magnus played Keymer twice. In his 14th game and 23rd game.
Gookesh gonna get rekt by Ding
Magnus plays a lot more of this romantic style chess in blitz, that's for sure, and also since he's retired from the championship circuit, he's even been a little more ballsy in classical I think. I don't think he's as protective of his rating or anything, because I think he said that he's essentially given up on trying to get to 2900. He just seems like he's out there having fun, and he's playing some of the best chess of his life.
When C19 happened, and all top 100 played each other online, I think for a lot of chess players that psychological barrier "I'm playing Magnus/Nepo/AnyTopGM face to face for the first time" had a positive effect. Imagine if Gukesh played TopGMs only once or twice before Candidates tournament. I don't think he would have even qualified.
There are some human traits that refuse to go, obviously I mean the negative ones. They reemerge, in every subsequent era. I can draw the analogy to Roger Federer in tennis. He absolutely hated the hawk eye reviews/challenges when they were introduced. He probably felt he had better chances of getting calls in his favour if it was left to the human umpires. Similarly it seems Carlsen may not have been very supportive of such a idea. They want to retain all their advantages probably. Including their aura, etc.
Hope Gukesh will become world champion🎉
Queen-rook fork, i guess?
That’s the Reason he didn’t defend his title 😅
Carlsen really ought to play the world championship. Instead of adding fuel to his own ego, "i can continue being considered the best player without playing the world championship" just play it man. If you are a gifted player, you ought to use it.
What do Kramnik think about Magnus 10 game winning winning streak?
Why can’t Magnus grab the bishop on. E3
Never enter the deep dark forest with Magnus, because he will mate you!!!!!
well its one thing for Magnus to take you to the forest, but quite another for Gukesh trying to defend like he is playing for the championship against Liren.
After 33...bxh4, the "amateur" 27 depth stockfish gives my good instinct move the knight forward 34.Nc5+. Forces an expect exchange, but after that good luck for black to find rook to h7, which ok its logical, put the rook behind the passed pawn, but would Magnus play it? that pawn is 4 moves away from queening and 2 moves away from the uboat alarm to sound, Magnus might just have opted to keep the rook engaged somehow.
For lower ranked players there were plenty of traps after attacking with the knight, even sacrificing it to the king.
Anyway, perhaps when the best of the best offers you a forest, the worst thing you can do is chicken out, and why? Fear of losing? I would rather lose in a forest, than retreating. Oh well, perhaps Gukesh was shocked by that missed opportunity earlier on, was afraid to blunder near the end there, anyway, good game, at least Gukesh did pick up on Magnus's offer/mistake with the bishop earlier on (even if he maybe got overboard excited to follow up successfully), and that is not nothing.
Yaps
our people are born in forests
WOW!
Gukesh not quite as strong as Magnus yet
Agad need to mention Magnis won 7 straight tournament
Yay
Sometimes I think Magnus deliberately plays poor systems/moves just to keep himself interested.
Magnus is the type of guy to lead you into a deep dark forest and convince you to save a drowning hippo.
A+ Tal Reference
Cagnoose Marlsen
This game was utterly spectacular, I struggled to understand watching live and I am not a weak player!
We're all weak
You are weak
Yeah I was just like huh Gukesh hung that fork of queen and rook with bishop, but that's also why I'm not a 2800 player. Glad for the analysis there since I'm pretty sure all of us found the fork almost instantly.
GG
Magnus Carlsen is fantastic 👏 👌
Brilliant game. The game alone watched 3 times to understand whats happening at the centre of the board ❤
challenger destroyed by someone who couldn't even qualify for candidate tournament 😵
Hilarious 😂
I know crazy huh 🤔 😅
Magnus was qualified for the candidates, as he won the WC. He just didn't participate in it.
He qualifies in multiple ways
