Even when he thought he was bombing, still great he was the master of delivery ........ Stuff of legend.
For those of us that are still alive, should be blessed that we got to share the same planet with this genius...
He had the entire room in the palm of his hands from the get-go. What an unbelievable talent.
That's cause the man had talent and comedy.
P
What a crowd!
The best of having Rodney interacting with Johnny is that Johnny could make Rodney momentarily step out of character and provoke him to laugh, and Rodney had a very funny, contagious, heartily, beautifully sounding laughter, as if he was having the time of his life !!! 😂😁😂😄😅😃 God bless these two guys, they brought us endless hours of joy.
"My wife and I were happy for 24 years. And then one day, we met!"
He's got it right on the money, that's how some marriages go , that's fact just as much as comedy
OMG !
LMAO! I didn't realize how much I missed Dangerfield!!
Rodney ALWAYS kills, sure do miss him
Millenials wouldn't understand this comedy.
Caught Rodney’s show at his club years ago. He is a real king of comedy...and all without cussing,
I first saw him doing stand up at a club in May of 1951
You are a freaking weirdo. Rodney has a dirty act. Who the hell cares whether he curses?
I could hear Rodney tell the same joke a hundred times, & I'll still laugh at it every single time. "What a crowd, what a crowd......" I'm thinking more like...what a funny, funny guy !!!
JB Fonfrias Me, too, over and over! It’s got to do with how he delivers the lines.
@@edwardroot1969 .....Right - & the expression on his face when he delivers his jokes 👍
That's why he is a genius of comedy.
Both Rodney and Johnny go hand and hand in my book! I loved watching them together. R.I.P. guy's! You were the best!
LIGHTYEARS better than the current crop of late night talk left-wing parrots masquerading as comedians!
@@frankseprino8610 Truer Words Have Never been Spoken!!!!!
@@frankseprino8610 No, they are comedians whose politics you don't like.
@Scott Miller I'm sure that there are indeed truer words that someone has spoken.
@@steveschwartz8944no. They are comedians who use their profession as a platform to express their politics. Big difference ledty
I still laugh when I think of "she told me to come over, no one's home. I came over, no one was home! LAUGHTER. What a crowd, what a crowd.
2 National treasures! Rodney and Johnny!
You forgot Charles Nelson Reilly. He shook Rodney's hand.
Greatness knowing Greatness
@@tubesocksbrigade3031 🤮
Rodney's jokes are timeless, never out of date. I hope all of his jokes have been collected somewhere to allow young people and future generations to enjoy them.
Here on RUclips, at least.
Carson gave Rodney the space to shine. Perfect team
No one has been able to
Replace Johnny Carson. In my opinion he was one of a kind. A GREAT host of l
ate night television.
I agree. I don't find Carson very funny but he's a great host.
Sometimes....he was too smart for his audience. Today....it would be all the time.
@@rd9793 YEAH I AGREE
@@jshepard152 he was willing to act as straight man for the guests. He understood comedy and television and timing perfectly and could gently move the act along.
Agreed. The term "The King" is oft-used, but when it came to late night talk show host, Johnny was (and still is) The King. I never saw this footage though, and you could tell Rodney was especially touched when Johnny said he missed him. Two true legends that were also friends.
My Father Died at age 80 this past March. I will Never Forget it was 1977 and I was 12 years old and on School Nights I had to be in Bed Lights Out by 915.
Well I had my own small black and white TV and was watching The Tonight Show and The Monologue when My Dad opened up my door and caught me.
I thought I was Dead. He asked me
" Boy what are you watching ? " And I said Johnny Carson, He is Just so Funny Dad. My Dad looked at Me and said
" Yeah Johnny is a Funny guy and I watch Him too, I tell You what, You can Watch the Tonight Show But if even 1 TIME You don't wake up on time or wake up in a Bad Mood, You can't watch Him Anymore ." I Thought I had Hit the Lottery, Not to mention it was the First time I felt Like My Dad Was treating Me Like a Real Man. Dad, I know you were Saved and I will See you again, But Thanks and I Miss you. Also To Johnny Carson, Thank You for being involved in My Dad treating Me Like a Man and I Miss you too.
@James Broms
Thank You James. Just listening to Carson and Dangerfield brought back that memory, My Dad thought Rodney was a Hoot too.
What happened to Men Like Carson ?
My Dad would have Never Let Me listen to today's late night host.
Carson would rag Reagan and Yet they were the Best of Friends and it was said they talked at least 2 times a week.
What happened to Comedy and Civility.
My Father was a Conservative but didn't want to Hear anybody Constantly running down ANY President.
God bless you.
That story has got to be close to yr heart. That's where it hit me, straight shot👍👍
That’s the nicest story I’ve heard in a while! Thanks for sharing. Thanks for you serving as a Military Veteran!

Thank you N J Toondrawer, Your Welcome and Again thanks.
He's had the same act since 1970, and it never gets old!
Finally a brand New Rodney Video. I love it. Rodney's the best.
To the guest with the tuxedo on. You look like you fell off a wedding cake. That was hilarious 😂😂😆
That was Charles Nelson Reilly. Strange that Dangerfield ostensibly just dropped by for a visit; CNR was on the Tonight Show more than 100 times - in large part because he lived within walking distance from the studio, so he’d be on quite often if another guest cancelled. I wonder who the original guest lineup was supposed to be if both of them just filled in
@@neilm2794 I thought that was Charles Nelson Reilly.
@@andrewps84 I was wondering who it was, so thank you for identifying him.
More laughs in five minutes than a whole week of Comedy Central.
except for South Park
@Ultra CNC says the guy who shits in his fridge

Johnny was a great straight man. For Rodney and everyone. That’s why he was so popular for so long. Do you really care what his political views were? No. Colbert could learn a thing or two.

Thank You for the continued uploads of these classic clips.👍
We definitely need Rodney more now than ever. Humor heals 🙏
We need humor like this in the present time.
Agree.👍
Amen.
Two icons from a time that we will never ever see again Ever PERIOD!!!!!
He never flops..he's amazing.
So cute how Johnny helps him close!! Two masters
Johnny was the perfect straight man for guys like Dangerfield or Rickles. He understood comedy unlike these "hack" late night hosts today who are not funny and wayyyyyyyyyyyy to political.
Yesterday Productions Johnny actually had one line himself and Rodney laughed! Great stuff!
Dangerfield &tickles were icons.they were awesome.
It’s the nightly hate hour. Johnny k ew that’s not what people wanted at that hour and that no one cared what his own views were. His guests were the stars and because he was a great stand up comic himself , he knew just how to be the straight man for them.
Boy did we need this! He seems nervous and unsettled like we're all feeling in this crazy time. ♥️ Rodney!!!
I think it was because like Rodney said he couldn't find any drugs! LOL!
Rodney was a comic genius, how can he remember all those jokes , on any subject, he was one in a million
"You look like you just fell off of a wedding cake" classic.
I can now relate to “When i bend over to tie my shoes, I try to think of other things I can do down there!”
Rodney Dangerfield was the best standup comedian ever !
But no respect! 😂
100% agree
Two Legends!
Rodney was "One of a Kind" no one can take his place he was exceptional ....
I miss real talk shows and real comedy. Both of them are awesome 😂
I have no finish, no beginning and I'm weak in the middle 😂😂
The thing with the old comics was even when they weren't on their a game watching them struggle was funny lol.
I sue miss Rodney Dangerfield he was one funny man. I also miss Johnny Carson.......
I miss Johnny Carson the best talk show ever. The comics back in the day were alot funnier.
@@andreahogan648 yes he was king of late-night comedy and he had some great guests. Rodney Dangerfield was something else to. I wish I could go back to those days sometimes.
Saw Easy money 💰 when it opened couldnt stop laughing
Many have tried to replace him, but never could match his wit and delivery. Truly, one of a kind.
Rodney's jokes are like knots, easy to understand hard to remember
NO ONE could ever,EVER,replace one liners like Rodney Dangerfield and late night hosts like Johnny Carson. They were part of a passing era. As fans, I guess we are to. They are MISSED.
Big drug problem.... i can't find any lol
That movie is awesome....it is funny as hell...
I've been watching these Rodney bits for a couple weeks now, and I learned something about him: he told the same jokes from 1969 thru 2003!
He put a smile on my face every time,añd that's a good thing 😅
"I tell ya Johnny my wife and me we made a pact ya know. We'd only smoke after sex, I'm on the same pack now since 1975. What bothers me is my wife, she's up to 3 packs a day" 👌
Cheering me up, on this miserable Christmas 2020.
"I got no finish, no beginning, and I'm weak in the middle" 😂😂
This man is a legend.....why don't we have a monument of him🤷♂️
The lefties would tear it down.
We’ll never see another one like Rodney. One of a kind. Him and Carson together were magic.
He was the man! Luved that guy!
Back to school scene with the professor was hilarious. Where will we put our business? How about fantasy land
I was on the floor laughing... the business teacher was EXACTLY like my brother-in-law. Four 4 year degrees, two Master's, and a Doctorate. And about as much common sense as a brick (sorry brick). All education and no experience... but he had those pieces of paper so he was a college professor teaching what his professors taught him. And THAT is one of the BIG problems in colleges today. Most of the people 'teaching' the young, have no experience in what they're teaching. They are teaching socialism, while they're make a quarter million a year. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat???????????????
@@donf3877 well those kids are in their 40s & 50s burning businesses and cities to the ground to drive us into a civil war over the President of the United States of America in 2020.
I am more worried about 2024 if Trump wins now.
Oh how I want to yank George Carlin, Joan Rivers, Red Fox, Malcolm X, John, Bobby, & Teddy Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, all the people on all 3 flights on Tuesday September 11th, 2001, all the fallen veterans of both Worlds Wars, The Korean War, and Vietnam War and the Gulf War, from their Graves to see the state of affairs we have right now!

This is the most fresh performance I’ve seen Rodney do. His material apears to come out intuitively and engaging with the crowd. Too deep? He asks when there’s silence, but that’s basically what made it interesting, the mysterious aspect of is he just kidding or is he for real? And I think he was for real, being a troubled addict looking for approval and that’s what makes him most interesting I guess.
Mr.Dangerfield, was a genius! Perfect timing. Facial expressions, body language, voice quality, he was full of it!! Talent and gifts! Smores! Good night. Andrew Dice Clay. Was his love child. In comedy.
R.I.P....total respect.
OH RODNEY, RODNEY, RODNEY.....we sure do miss you.R.I.P.
In the early to mid 1980's I flew Lear Jet charters. During that time I flew Rodney Dangerfield several times. Each time he had his wife and son with him. He always invited us to come and see the shows. Unfortunately work had kept us from being able to go to his shows.
Women my age have been tremendously affected by gravity.
What a classic line. He’s the best.
I loved that he said NO!
RODNEY. . . my hero !!!!!!!
Was there anyone else who could make Johnny laugh like Rodney?
No not even Rickles
4:50 - Rodney got emotional for a second there.
The GOAT of stand-up.
The 80's! Rodney was on the rise!
still thanks ! :)
The Great Rodney Dangerfield....GOAT...
The old days. "The Tonight Show ".
Here's Johnny!
Those two guys were great
Got to see Rodney live he was unbelievable
You know he has to touch his tie after every joke you know we miss him
A great soul.
Love this guy
I think his talent lay in the fact that he could shoot out many mildly funny, different jokes, in rapid succession like a machine gun.
The overall effect is that you eventually have to start laughing, because his constant talking is relentless.
He must have had a great memory.
Back for more!
The quality of this video is like that of a VHS recording, of a VHS recording, of a - well, you get the idea.
Still better than some of the old stuff on RUclips. At least didn't have those lines where they need to adjust the tracking control.

Hi jjii

Carson had Rodney on as much for himself as for the audience 🤣
Great comedian name Rodney Dangerfield ❤
Best comedian ever.❤
When men were men.
Simply, the best
Rodney and Charles Nelson Reilly, on the same show? Wow. They really brought out the A Troops that night.
My wife and I had twenty five good years.
That was before we met.
Dangerfield, 'You know It's lonely at the top, Johnny. Especially when there's no one underneath' :)
My favorite Rodney joke (paraphrased): “My wife said she‘s going to put a mirror on the ceiling over our bed for when we have sex...I said what are you gonna do that for?...she said ‘so I can watch myself laugh’...” 😆🤣
I was coming home from work and I saw a man running down the street naked. I said why you running down the street naked ? He said because you came home from work early. I saw him in Torontoyears ago. Third row. He said that joke making eye contact with me. I was already holding my ribs and in tears because you know it was one after another.

He could tell jokes for weeks and not repeat one lol.
Easy Money “ was classic! 💫
With a very young Joe pesci.
Wow. Three of the greats on one stage. Carson, Dangerfield and Charles Nelson Reilly.
back when you could laugh and joke and the world wasn't shit
The Master...
Rodney Dangerfield puts today's Hate Night TV "comedians" to shame.
My favorite Rodney joke, “ I was driving behind a semi with a bumper sticker that read,’ how’s my driving, call this number 1-800 eat @&$#,’ so I called and got a Chinese restaurant “ !
I like this guy. He really seems to care...about what, I have no idea!
He Was the Best
Oh that Rodney!
I liked 'Easy Money' a lot.
"I have no time for you. There is no time for you." My favorite line of his in the movie.
WOW! That seems to have been a really slow audience that night.
I didn’t realize Charles Nelson Reilly was so tall.
I still say Easy Money was still his top best movie by far over all of them. Wally Sparks and Back to School come close. It's the chemistry with him and Pesci. Those two should have did more more movies together.
