Moona's lore is kind of confusing, but what you see here are 2 people, the short haired girl is an ordinary college student named Moona, and the regal one with long hair is the Moon Goddess Hoshinova. Hoshinova was worshipped in ancient times by a cult of followers (you can see the paintings and tapestries depicting her as a goddess). However at some point, for some reason her followers turned on her, and sealed her. This part is a little fuzzy on details, but a ghost or amalgamation of the followers seems to be returning, and is represented by the giant red monster. In the beginning Hoshinova simply possesses Moona's body in an attempt to fight it, but after this fails, she is able to get Moona to accept her, and they bond as one being (Where they almost kiss in the video). This creates the person we now know, Moona Hoshinova, part college student, part moon goddess. And the final shot of the video is her applying to join Hololive (you can see the sign in the background). This song functions as an origin story for her, which is super awesome and creative. I love when Vtubers take advantage of their lore like this.
and if I remember correctly the lore when she was first debuted just about her as a college students who does part time modelling. And her moon goddess lore develop during her minecraft arc with pekora.
Moona is one of the talents from Indonesia Branch of Hololive, Its also funny you made the connection to League as some of her most populer covers were Villian and The baddest from K/DA
I love her voice, I watched her do this live when Hololive did their 3D concert where her, the other two from HoloID (Gen1) and HoloEN (Gen 1)premiere their 3d avatars. And her voice was beautiful and amazing live, I wish there was a way for you to watch hers and Cali's live concert from that day. Moona looked like such a beautiful diva professional, the other Hololive members said the same thing.
The mention of Britney Spears is spot on. Moona sings some of Britney’s songs in her unarchived karaoke streams (I love her performance of Toxic). She also has Lady Gaga, Adele, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Celine Dion, Avril Lavigne, etc in her regular rotation of songs.
When she made her debut, her background was only that she used to be a model. Over time, she wanted a more fantasy backstory. Now it looks like this: 0:45 - she fell when she was an ordinary person - maybe under the ice, maybe this is how they depicted the line between life and death (here she was shown with short hair, usually she kind of talked about blonde hair. The Moon Goddess has yellow eyes and long purple hair), the Goddess saved her and blessed her with power (when she fell, you can notice that the light of the moon shines on her through the hole). The model of Moona had features that are not suitable for a person: her pupils are divided into half purple, half yellow (like the light of the moon and the night sky); the tips of her hair remained yellow from her human form. And what about the song. Obviously, it's about her viewers. She said on the stream that the girl with short hair is us. "When you look up at night sky, what do you see?" the first line. "Watch my glory and might. Following me like a high tide" (analogy with the real moon). And I have to make a clarification: these are all the details of the lore that we have learned about her since the beginning of her career, we don't know much about her. From them it turned out to make an MV. Although she describes it in her own way (this is another person's comment): "There is no lore/backstory in the song or the MV. The MV is fantasy made to fit the song, and contains elements regarding Moona's viewers and how No one wants them to love her. The short-haired girl is a stand-in for Moona's viewers, and the long-haired lady (with a crown, not horns) is Moona herself. The scene where it looks like the two are about to kiss is actually Moona giving a 'second chance' (mouth-to-mouth resuscitation) to her viewers. Here's a clip where Moona explains the MV: ruclips.net/video/5XEH9M-hlNE/видео.html"
yeah the vibe on this song is like an theme/opening song of a gaming tournament like LoL. Also they also called Moona as Diva of Hololive due to this song
Lol still waiting for that Korone "Doggy God's Street" song reaction. Korone is from Hololive, she was the brown haired dog girl from their PV with the purple haired cat girl. The song isn't like made for super amazing singing like Moona and Suisei but it's just a fun song that was written by TopHamHat-Kyo.
Hololive had a concert back in March which included the first 3D performances from HoloID Gen 1 and Holomyth (HoloEN Gen 1). The Hololive English and Hololive Indonesia channels both put up summary videos which include snippets from each of the members (3 for HoloID and 5 for HoloEN). It would be a way to see what the songs would look like in a performance setting (and Moona's performance especially was amazing). For other songs, I would suggest ID:Entity Voices, from HoloID Gen 1 and 2, and Journey Like a Thousand Years, from HoloMyth.
Ah yes Moona is another level, she is the Diva. Also I recommend Animal cover by MiComet (Suisei and Miko). Hope you will react to this one in the future
Man, every time I watch this MV and hear the song I get goosebumps. Moona truly is the DIVA of Hololive. And no surprise you got League vibes as Moona is a huge fan of K/DA, made several covers of their songs as mentioned before and I feel like this song was at least partially inspired by K/DA style.
Funny you mention League of Legends in your video. Moona is known to be a big fan of the group K/DA a (mostly) korean group that is sponsored by LoL and uses characters from the game for their videos. Moona has done a couple of their song that are absolutely worth reacting to. Villain - she does this one solo The Baddest - Moona joined by Mori Calliope, Ayunda Risu, and Pavolia Reine (you havnt seen her yet, but she is in the hololive Indonesia branch with Moona and Risu)
Moona's voice is one of the best in Hololive! Along side Suisei and towa obviously lol Ill add anohter to my list from last week and that Amane Kanata's song 【1人2役】獣ゆく細道/天音かなた(Cover), she sings both the male and female parts of the song! Incredible singer, shes called Perfect Pitch Tenshi for a reason! Ill also post my list again, just for a few other songs lol Tsunomaki watame - My song Ninomae Ina'nis - Violet Moona Hoshinova - Ai no Chiisana Uta ookami mio - Sparkle Yuki Chihiro - Brave magic - Give a reason - Wishing
Cool Reaction, finally High Tide. Moona said the MV wasnt originally meant to be about her VTuber Lore. The Song adresses her viewers. Moona said she is well aware that (some) people look down on her (for being indonesian). In the Song she sings about pulling them in, like the Moon pulls the Tide. She literally sings " playing hard to get but i am patient. The meaning is that despite the hate, people watch her content and follow her. In the Kiss scene she is about to give air to someone, which can be seen as giving a second chance. Obviously this is only one of the possible interpretations.
I like your idea of Ready Player One, as soon as I saw that movie I knew, that's the future, and Hololive stars will rule the scene, since others are merely adopted to 3d streaming, but they were born in it :D
Moona does have one helluva voice, you should listen to her cover of "A Whole New World" the mad lady sings a duet with herself, and her Aladdin voice is just as good as her Jasmine voice, lol
i enjoy these vtuber wednesday reactions. i'm glad you enjoyed moona's high tide. one i would recommend you watch in the future would be Haachama's cover ECHO/赤井はあと, or if you want an original song Takanashi Kiara's Sparks if nobody has explained it to you yet, a quick summary of moona's lore is that she is a college student who also has merged with a moon goddess, it is two entities/people merged into one. moona is one of the most popular and well regarded singers in hololive, i love her voice.
yay Moona reaction should react to one of these next: - Polka: Hologram circus, or Polka anthem ( I would wait on everblue until you see one of those other two just to get an idea on who she is and what shes like) -Nene: Nenenenenene (just freaking adorable) Watame: My song, ai mai chocolate, a melody for you or watame rap Kanata: song of the beginning towards the end, Tokusha seizon wonder la der, Ghost rule (you cant go wrong with the perfect pitch tenshi so any of her songs are amazing) Miko: Stellar stellar compilation cover would be hilarious to hear as always I do suggest the group songs like: Ochame Kinou ( which has many different versions with the different generations of the girls) Shiny Smily Story last but not least, to get to know the girls, the long video of "the complete guide to hololive" (not so complete anymore but it has most of the girls and introduces all of them one by one for you to know about)
awsome pick! I was wondering when you were gonna get this one considering how much you love animation. One song that flies under the radar alot that is very chefs kiss is shallys by Aki Rosenthal. It will take you on an adventure and one of hololives first fully 3d captured music videos too.
Yeah, compared to most of the Hololive girls, Moona is often likened to a Pop Artist or the like. So the Britney Spears comparison is apt. Especially after that amazing performance at the Hololive Fest a while back.
The best thing about Moona is that her karaoke version sounds just as amazing as the studio production version... different but still amazing. That is a problem I personally have with a lot of Pop singers these days (yes I am old😅). They just don´t sound as amazing unedited.
I'd recommend checking out the Song Diamond City Lights by Nijisanji's Lazulight or Blackout by Obsydia also from Nijisanji. Both are a group of trios. Nijisanji is the other big vtuber agency with various branches.
I'm sure you'll get tons of comments and suggestions for some great songs and singers in the vtuber industry. But I'll suggest something a bit different. Hololive occasionally has their 'generations' or branches do a cover of a song called "Ochame Kinou". It can be a good way for you to get a brief introduction into these streamers. They each get solo time to sing so you can appreciate what they can do. You can also see various designs and costumes that go into their vtuber creations. I'd suggest doing the Hololive English one; only because they're the ones I watch the most. It has Mori and Gura in it, whom you're familiar with.
you should consider listening to some of their karoakes (people clip them but they are especially useful for the unarchived stuff) and 3d live performances if you want a suggestion Gura recently had her 3d birthday concert and you should check out her cover of Recipe by Tatsuro Yamashita its the first song she sang.
Once you get more comfortable with Hololive, I highly suggest taking a crack at Nijisanji. They're the current largest Vtuber Agency with a grand total of ~160 talents plus an extra 47 talents in their Chinese sister agency VirtuaReal. For comparison, Hololive has 68 talents. Unlike Hololive, Nijisanji is not an idol group and is more focused on producing variety content. This means that not all of their talents produce covers or original songs, however, a large number of them do. I'd reccomend starting with the Nijisanji English branch's debut songs: Diamond City Lights, Black Out, God Sees All, Hope In The Dark, and Stuck In The Abyss. I must warn you that God Sees All and, to a lesser extent, Hope In The Dark aren't the best lyric wise due to the lyrics being originally written in Japanese and then poorly translated into English.
@acethemusicman I totally agree. There are a ton of talent in nijisanji. but he just got started and hasn't even expanded his horizons to all hololive members. Remember that he does one hololive song a week and that's alot of ground but I totally agree that eventually he SHOULD start with nijisanji. when, we will never know.

In her real life moona use to be part of a girl band so it's no wonder she gives off these diva/popstar vibes because she was one!
Hololive had a concert back in March which included the first 3D performances from HoloID Gen 1 and Holomyth (HoloEN Gen 1). When you said her music reminds you of league I totally think you should react to Mona’s cover of Villian by K/DA
Man, I literally said to myself that you should react to High Tide an hour ago and what would you know. Here it is.
Just for you!!
Ah yes Moona is another level, she is the Diva. Also I recommend Animal cover by MiComet (Suisei and Miko). Hope you will react to this one in the future

Ninomae Ina'nis - Violet
Moona Hoshinova - Ai no Chiisana Uta
ookami mio - Sparkle
Yuki Chihiro - Brave magic
- Give a reason
- Wishing
I'm sure it's been recommended before, but: "Shallys" by Aki Rosenthal. Completely different music style and fully sung in an 'elven' language.
Moona is all
Sometimes i think she is secretly a sixth member of K/DA due to her quality of singing and dancing
Moona loves Britney Spears and she has covered songs from KDA (League of Legends music group) So you were spot on with those comments!

moona is one of the most popular and well regarded singers in hololive, i love her voice.
yay Moona reaction
should react to one of these next:
- Polka: Hologram circus, or Polka anthem ( I would wait on everblue until you see one of those other two just to get an idea on who she is and what shes like)
-Nene: Nenenenenene (just freaking adorable)
Watame: My song, ai mai chocolate, a melody for you or watame rap
Kanata: song of the beginning towards the end, Tokusha seizon wonder la der, Ghost rule (you cant go wrong with the perfect pitch tenshi so any of her songs are amazing)
Miko: Stellar stellar compilation cover would be hilarious to hear
as always I do suggest the group songs like:
Ochame Kinou ( which has many different versions with the different generations of the girls)
Shiny Smily Story
last but not least, to get to know the girls, the long video of "the complete guide to hololive" (not so complete anymore but it has most of the girls and introduces all of them one by one for you to know about)
Everblue is so good though to wait on, also all good recommendations
@@DrakenKorin619 I mean the reason I feel that everblue is so good is because we know what Polka is normally like
I feel it would be better to show her funny hyper side before hitting him with depressed right off the bat.
awsome pick! I was wondering when you were gonna get this one considering how much you love animation. One song that flies under the radar alot that is very chefs kiss is shallys by Aki Rosenthal. It will take you on an adventure and one of hololives first fully 3d captured music videos too.

Nijisanji also has some banger songs, 00

Nice reaction
you should watch the song Nai Nai by Ninomae Inanis, I'm sure you will be surprised and you will really like it)
you should consider listening to some of their karoakes (people clip them but they are especially useful for the unarchived stuff) and 3d live performances if you want a suggestion Gura recently had her 3d birthday concert and you should check out her cover of Recipe by Tatsuro Yamashita its the first song she sang.
Have you watch ayunda risu song alice&u I believe it the hardest song in hololive to sing, or her king cover
You missed a kiss!
Tidak menerima hal seperti itu pak
You should react to Naruto and Sasuke vs
Momoshiki
please react to Alice & U by Ayunda risu
You look like someone i know!? Xq

Inui toko, machita chima, enna allouette are all great singers. Probably the best vtuber singers along with ayunda risu and moona imo.
