he's gotten so used to noticing little details to help him predict patterns and breaks in the beat and actually remembering them, it's really fun to see. like the first rest at 0:53, he tries to predict it coming at 0:59 (giving it a "test run" by breaking snare but keeping kick and then making a mental note of it) before finally nailing it at 1:04 and the succeeding ones. he then keeps the "test run" fill he did at 0:59 as a stylistic choice throughout the same parts. all that thought process on the fly! too fun!
The second rest in the chorus was the moment this was elevated from another Hololive cover to one of his best blind covers of all time, at least for me.
Something interesting is what he said at the end at 3:40 where his favorite section was when the drop would come and the action of the drop he describes is very much like what happens at "High Tide" where before the High Waves crash in, the sea pulls out. It's a interesting note to the Producer of the song, ZSunder ( ruclips.net/user/postUgkxExHorDti5C97dM2xQer8t2buPN82O1AA ) - who has a lot of background remixing K-Pop songs.
with enough experience it's actually pretty easy to play any song that has nice flow and progression,in a split second you could already tell where it'll go and immediately adapt, and mostly you'll only need to use some basic and common patterns to fill it in.
He didn't start like this. It's all experience. The more you listen to songs and drummed to them you kinda pick up their time signatures and the style/genre the songs are going for so you kinda anticipate them.
not even 24 hours, truly amazing I'm also really stunned by how high quality the MVs have been for many recent Hololive MVs, this along with others like Kanata's and Watame's original songs have scenes that look like they're straight from a high budget anime.
@@pentadunk Q is another great example! and as a fan it is really cool to see that the support that the talents receive directly leads to them making bigger and greater projects than ever before
The structure of this song is not even that complex (just another classic verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus banger) but Moona's voice makes it feel so complete and clean. And here, with Jerod's drum line, it gained another level of 'surround' and freshness.
You Moonafics, cheers to you. Wonderful song covered by the master, in less than a day from release. Edit: You Moonafics, all 1 million of y'all, cheers to you.
holy frick, that's so fast! POGGERS Thank you for the drum cover, Jerod! 🙏& I definitely love this new original song by Moona! Thank you for the performance, Moona!
the improvisational ability of rhythm instrumentalists i find is sometimes even better than that of melodic instrumentalists which i assume is because they have a stronger understanding of conventional song structure n when there are gaps. either way, though, jerod just has a real knack for listening n adapting, which has really developed over his years of being exposed to tons of other kinds of music.
you nailed it, it's all structure and familiarity. When songs follow popular chord progressions, melodic instrumentalists can improvise in their sleep. But yes, your assumption is correct, and it's proved by the reverse: a lot of songs that don't follow conventional structure (e.g. suisei's ghost or stellar stellar), really trip him up. For a really unfair blind play, Mumei's "a new start" makes him stop completely because of a meter change.
Greetings Everyone My name is Artemis Knight From MLM Member of Moona Hoshinova Hololive-ID I see you have taken interes behind Moona New Original High Tide I shall bring forth the news to Her for this Cover of Drum beat you have Brought

Oh wow you're here
Da animator himself
Ayyyy Furaisen
its impressive how jerod is able to time the pauses so well
drummer instinct
@@Foxshirakami he's taught to do that with Hololive's song lmao
He missed the first one but then realized it was going to be a repeating pattern. Insane
I'm confused, seems like he hears some of the songs for the first time and still plays the drum so well, matching the song
That's what he does best
Drummer's instinct
Once you play couple of songs using drums, the next one you play even its new to you. your instinct will go bbrrrrt
When you have thousands of thousands of hours of hard work and dedication on drums, it really does wonders huh

The best english hololive songs coming from hololive indonesia is peak hololive
3:22 That laugh there. He knew he nailed it perfectly :D
Moona’s voice always amazes me. Also holy crap this is an absolutely flawless blind cover, not a single flaw or mistake. It’s perfection
I mean flawless is a complete exaggeration but it is nice, yes
Clearly he missed the rest at 0:53 so it is not perfect but still very good
@@actpianocover6329 Although that is the case, he adapted to it and made a special rhythm used for the next chorus
@@MysticMocha i know. I'm just pointing out the fact that "this cover is flawless" is false.

I can't believe he heard this song for the first time…🤦♂️
That's what's you called an *expert*
as long the song have no trap on it. so pros will do it naturally and beautifully
It’s insane
He figure out the pause and adjusted to it after the first time it happen. Its so satisfying to hear. Amazing
with this combination, we have a song for LoL World Championship MV
I won't be surprised if her song gets used there with how fire it is 👍
That would be really cool
Yeah bro I thought it was Rito music holy shit, the quality is the same with their MV imo. Which is pure BANGER 😎🤙

Original song is great but with drums it really ascends to another level imo. Love it.
yeah it sounds like an evanesence song!
The performance in the 3rd fest also featured live drums!

A Good Song is a gift for all ears.
Bro, the way he closes his eyes at 2:40 . That’s a musician getting lost in the music.
He is letting the music flow through him. He and the music are one.

Wow it's eally good combined with the drum sound

Really love his "one beat late" crash at the reff... That blend really well with the vibe of the song 👍👍👍
It's not easy keeping up with Moona. Very few of Hololive friends are capable of it.
But he hits the drums like he wrote them.
When he stop 1 sec playing drum in the middle of song make it even better

amazing song from moona.
Es una canción con mucho contenido relacionado al lore la cual de por sí ya me gusta, pero la complementación con la batería lo hace aún mejor

Soo cool, i can imagine Moona sing it Live with this drum version playin on the back 😭😭💜💜
I think the kiss scene would shocked him...
Amazing cover, also i think the genre suit Moona perfectly
everyone talking about the cuts (which are excellent), but my favourite parts are the cymbal accents at 1:08 and 2:01, super tight.
