It's been a while since i comment in Moona channel, but i still listening to this 'til now, still my favorite Hololive song so far, i wish she would made a lot of kind song like this
I'm trying to get the story here. 1) Moona, surrounded by anonymous walking red figures, gazes up into the heavens. Over her shoulder we see another woman appear, one who looks very much like modern Moona but with archaic dress. When Moona reaches out, there is a red flash which transforms into a moonflower. This in itself may mean nothing other than being similar to Moona's name, or perhaps symbolic of archaic Moona's power, but I think it's worth noting that the moonflower is a poisonous plant. 2) The archaic Moona floats upward and disappears in a blue flash. Modern Moona is shown falling slowly, like through the ice into a frozen lake. Her eyes glow yellow, like archaic Moona, and we see a vision of archaic Moona sitting on an unambiguous throne. This, combined with the dark crown on archaic Moona's head makes her some sort of queen. 3) Next, we see something which looks like a flag or tapestry depicting archaic Moona holding something which shines brilliantly in her hand. We see a scene of a crowd of people standing in a street, staring up at a huge Moona in the sky, parting the clouds and shining like the sun. 4) Next, we see modern Moona staring down forlornly at a glowing spark in her hand which I assume to be symbolism for the memories she was just shown. The camera pulls out and we can see she is standing in a field of moonflowers. Behind her we see a huge red figure similar to those in the beginning of the video. It raises its hand, presumably to attack, but a bolt of blue energy strikes from the sky. When the camera turns we can see Moona with glowing yellow eyes holding her hand out. Blue energy arcs around her hand and she rushes forward in a ball of energy to attack the giant red figure. Moonflowers appear over where the entity was standing, only to be subsumed by a red color moments later. Moona jumps into the air and the red entity launches some sort of attack after her. 5) We briefly see archaic Moona being pursued by an angry mob, before modern Moona executes a powerful divekick on the red entity, causing an explosion. It appears she is knocked out, and sees another vision. She is floating over some sort of ancient temple, and archaic Moona appears above her. Archaic Moona reaches out to her, there is a blue flash, and we see archaic Moona floating and looking down (in contempt?). 6) Next, we see a red orb of energy which starts to send out threads which grow into some sort of tree. Archaic Moona pulls out a weapon which looks like a scythe and flies toward it. She executes a rapid series of attacks, presumably destroying the tree. I believe this symbolizes the red entity trying to exert some sort of control over modern Moona, and archaic Moona defeating it. 7) In the final scene, we see modern Moona walking. She has glowing yellow eyes. So I've got a couple of theories of what's going on. - First, we assume that the ancient queen was evil, used her power to oppress the people, and these mysterious red entities are either her paranoid delusions or she is actively trying to deceive modern Moona so her spirit can reincarnate into a new body. - Second, we assume that the ancient queen was good, and the red entities are some sort of outside influence which deceived the people into overthrowing the queen and now her soul has reincarnated in search of revenge. I'm not sure if the evidence supports one theory or the other more, but, personally, the second is my favorite. EDIT: Just saw Moona's breakdown on her freetalk stream and it works in a meta context, but my analysis is only things that are shown in the video itself.

Moona's 2nd original song is so cool. The similarity between Moona's 2 original songs is both give us the aura of goddess. However, Stories told by High Tide is very different from Ai no Chiisana Uta as if Moona's 2 different sides are from different universe. This contrast reminds me people on earth can only see the same side of the moon. The other side is always full of mystery.

But I'm sorry that I will not spam the lyrics in chat after anniversary of ai no chiisana uta. 1 year ago, after ai no chiisana was premiered, there is no official English subtitle and there were lots of TL and clips I don't think it's precise enough, so I decide to create my version of TL. After few months, I started my TL spam in chat while Moona singing it, hope it will help for understanding. I think most Moona's viewers already know the meaning. At the same time, people start to summon me and say gambare to me in chat, I'm afraid that I distract chat from Moona's singing. So I decided to stop. I'm ok with the subtitles in this MV. Since English is the most advantageous language for being translated to other language, I have no plain to spam lyrics and TLs of High Tide too.

DAMN that High Tide live in NYC Breaking Dimensions was immense, performed as a unit by Moona Irys Bae Suisei complete show stopper and was the best in that concert, full potential of the song achieved as a unit song and dance (composer ZSunder is a kpop producer now FYI) hearing Irys, Bae, Suisei covering the highs notes, with Moona stepping down into the lower notes and backup vocals and all 4 with the harmonies really tough song to sing coz of the range and even more while dancing (even the choreo is considered tough coz of the body rolls, Moona had to tone down the choreo from her debut FES performance) just amazing!!!

Very rarely I am this confused with a "lore" MV, as this has absolutely destroyed my expectations on how to perceive pre-Moona Hoshinova. With AI No Chiisana Uta, the playful and gentle character of Moona is cemented into my brain and I regarded that as the "Moona" for a long time, but in this MV, "Moona" is depicted in a very menacing, confident and a little eldritch light. It really fuels the imagination on how Moona became who she is today, and who Moona and Hoshinova was in the past before their souls merged together. Oh and, my favourite thing about the song is how it serves as a counter to AI no Chiisana Uta, with it's menacing nature and it's focus on the Hoshinova deep voice range, and of course, focusing on Hoshinova herself. I may never be able to decipher the story in this MV like the rest of the lore music like Reflect, Bully, Dawn Blue, Real Melancholy, etc etc, but I'm sure we will gradually explore more of it as we go. And to that, I will keep on supporting you Moona!
Yeah, I used to think that the 'dark' ambience is tied to hoshinova instead, maybe because of the other song too, unconsciously. And also because hoshinova with her short hair looks a bit edgier I suppose? I guess the two are more interlinked than we think!

My image of moona always a combination between the moon goddess and normal human who is a collage student whose also a model. I always imagine the human part have a timid nature while yhe goddes is exact opposite. I mean i imagine it as the goddess take control of the human, making the human confused. Tho i always imagine either of them has yellow hair while others purple, thats why now the hair color combined. Hoooly... I just want to appreciate the smart choice of word for the "High Tide". It sounds as something big and powerful (because it is) but it was portrayed here that even THE High Tide follow the Moon and bend its knees to the Moon. Such a simple but effective way to deliver the message of the domineering presence of the Moon.

I'm trying to get the story here.
1) Moona, surrounded by anonymous walking red figures, gazes up into the heavens. Over her shoulder we see another woman appear, one who looks very much like modern Moona but with archaic dress. When Moona reaches out, there is a red flash which transforms into a moonflower. This in itself may mean nothing other than being similar to Moona's name, or perhaps symbolic of archaic Moona's power, but I think it's worth noting that the moonflower is a poisonous plant.
2) The archaic Moona floats upward and disappears in a blue flash. Modern Moona is shown falling slowly, like through the ice into a frozen lake. Her eyes glow yellow, like archaic Moona, and we see a vision of archaic Moona sitting on an unambiguous throne. This, combined with the dark crown on archaic Moona's head makes her some sort of queen.
3) Next, we see something which looks like a flag or tapestry depicting archaic Moona holding something which shines brilliantly in her hand. We see a scene of a crowd of people standing in a street, staring up at a huge Moona in the sky, parting the clouds and shining like the sun.
4) Next, we see modern Moona staring down forlornly at a glowing spark in her hand which I assume to be symbolism for the memories she was just shown. The camera pulls out and we can see she is standing in a field of moonflowers. Behind her we see a huge red figure similar to those in the beginning of the video. It raises its hand, presumably to attack, but a bolt of blue energy strikes from the sky. When the camera turns we can see Moona with glowing yellow eyes holding her hand out. Blue energy arcs around her hand and she rushes forward in a ball of energy to attack the giant red figure. Moonflowers appear over where the entity was standing, only to be subsumed by a red color moments later. Moona jumps into the air and the red entity launches some sort of attack after her.
5) We briefly see archaic Moona being pursued by an angry mob, before modern Moona executes a powerful divekick on the red entity, causing an explosion. It appears she is knocked out, and sees another vision. She is floating over some sort of ancient temple, and archaic Moona appears above her. Archaic Moona reaches out to her, there is a blue flash, and we see archaic Moona floating and looking down (in contempt?).
6) Next, we see a red orb of energy which starts to send out threads which grow into some sort of tree. Archaic Moona pulls out a weapon which looks like a scythe and flies toward it. She executes a rapid series of attacks, presumably destroying the tree. I believe this symbolizes the red entity trying to exert some sort of control over modern Moona, and archaic Moona defeating it.
7) In the final scene, we see modern Moona walking. She has glowing yellow eyes.
So I've got a couple of theories of what's going on.
- First, we assume that the ancient queen was evil, used her power to oppress the people, and these mysterious red entities are either her paranoid delusions or she is actively trying to deceive modern Moona so her spirit can reincarnate into a new body.
- Second, we assume that the ancient queen was good, and the red entities are some sort of outside influence which deceived the people into overthrowing the queen and now her soul has reincarnated in search of revenge.
I'm not sure if the evidence supports one theory or the other more, but, personally, the second is my favorite.
EDIT: Just saw Moona's breakdown on her freetalk stream and it works in a meta context, but my analysis is only things that are shown in the video itself.

1 year ago, after ai no chiisana was premiered, there is no official English subtitle and there were lots of TL and clips I don't think it's precise enough, so I decide to create my version of TL.

Both of them are different from Day Helder, Day Helder routinely creates content using his virtual avatar, whereas Pokimane and PewDiePie don't do it actively, in fact they only do it once.

DAMN that High Tide live in NYC Breaking Dimensions was immense, performed as a unit by Moona Irys Bae Suisei
complete show stopper and was the best in that concert, full potential of the song achieved as a unit song and dance (composer ZSunder is a kpop producer now FYI)
hearing Irys, Bae, Suisei covering the highs notes, with Moona stepping down into the lower notes and backup vocals and all 4 with the harmonies
really tough song to sing coz of the range and even more while dancing (even the choreo is considered tough coz of the body rolls, Moona had to tone down the choreo from her debut FES performance)

Very rarely I am this confused with a "lore" MV, as this has absolutely destroyed my expectations on how to perceive pre-Moona Hoshinova. With AI No Chiisana Uta, the playful and gentle character of Moona is cemented into my brain and I regarded that as the "Moona" for a long time, but in this MV, "Moona" is depicted in a very menacing, confident and a little eldritch light. It really fuels the imagination on how Moona became who she is today, and who Moona and Hoshinova was in the past before their souls merged together.
Oh and, my favourite thing about the song is how it serves as a counter to AI no Chiisana Uta, with it's menacing nature and it's focus on the Hoshinova deep voice range, and of course, focusing on Hoshinova herself.
I may never be able to decipher the story in this MV like the rest of the lore music like Reflect, Bully, Dawn Blue, Real Melancholy, etc etc, but I'm sure we will gradually explore more of it as we go. And to that, I will keep on supporting you Moona!
Yeah, I used to think that the 'dark' ambience is tied to hoshinova instead, maybe because of the other song too, unconsciously. And also because hoshinova with her short hair looks a bit edgier I suppose? I guess the two are more interlinked than we think!

My image of moona always a combination between the moon goddess and normal human who is a collage student whose also a model. I always imagine the human part have a timid nature while yhe goddes is exact opposite. I mean i imagine it as the goddess take control of the human, making the human confused. Tho i always imagine either of them has yellow hair while others purple, thats why now the hair color combined. But well, this mv tell otherwise haha
Edit: i guess in this sense i always thought 'moona' is the name of the goddess (i mean, duh) while the human is from the hoshi clan lol

That's explain why we rarely, if not never, see Moona switching personality like Risu ... Even when her vocal changing, her personality remain the same ...
Hoooly... I just want to appreciate the smart choice of word for the "High Tide". It sounds as something big and powerful (because it is) but it was portrayed here that even THE High Tide follow the Moon and bend its knees to the Moon. Such a simple but effective way to deliver the message of the domineering presence of the Moon.
Moona has out done herself. This song is amazing. Her voice really suits these type of songs.
I don't watch much of ID. But wow, Moona's voice has blown me away.
