  • So, today's video is basically an update video to show where we are as of today (Thursday, Dec 8th) We did get all of the filler pieces installed and most of the trim pieces. We just have a little bit left for the upper trim. Finishing touches really make it all come together so it's exciting. We have toe kicks left to do and that's it as far as the cabinets themselves. There is still much to come because we have counter install soon, then plumbers to come back, and then the area under the windows to start....backsplash...and on, and on, and on! Hope you enjoy and we will see ya in the next one!

We are Dave & Tiffany. We wanted to start this channel so that friends and family could feel connected to us even though we moved so far away from them. We also wanted a way to document the adventure. We are two crazy kids (We still think of ourselves as kids) that decided to sell our home, pack up everything we owned, and move from small town Southport, North Carolina to Central Florida. Our channel is called Purposely ReRouted because we needed and wanted a change in our lives. We want to show you what Central Florida has to offer whether you choose to live here or vacation here. We hope you like our channel……LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, & COMMENT….Onto the next BIG adventure!!

Would really love tips on cutting the trim for the corner cabinet.

Honestly it depends on the degree of your cabinet. We watched lots of RUclips videos to tell us how to cut ours with the math etc. Some of ours were 90 degree angles and the corner cabinet with the glass was 22.5 degree angle.

What were the measurements for the corner cabinet trim? I'm struggling with it at this moment😢

@@Daniel-ik6xm Dave had a hard time as well with these measurements. The 90 degree corners were a breeze but these corners are different. He went to RUclips and searched calculating measurements for corner trim. I know he said it's a lot of math but search that and some of those videos may be helpful. Sawdust and Wood has a video that looks helpful Titled: How to measure and cut angles for baseboard, crown molding, etc. I hope that's helpful.

I absolutely love the area with the wine racks! I will start remodeling my kitchen in a couple of weeks and I have not seen any videos explaining how to hang the wine rack. I have the instructions from Ikea; so, that will have to do for now. Also, the molding in the bottom of your cabinets looks great!!! I have not decided if I want molding on top, after seeing yours I think I like how it looks without the molding, but I worry my cabinets will look "unfinished" without them. 🤔Anyway, thank you for posting!

Thank you for watching. We really had to get creative with the wine racks on the sides because we didn’t have studs it the wall in those areas. What I will try to do is post some shorts for you to see how we did it. To try to explain a little…the middle large cabinet is secured into the studs but the wine racks on the sides are not. We used wall anchors and then also used wood across the tops to secure them all across.

Did you get the molding from IKEA?

The trim pieces above and below the cabinets we got from IKEA. The trim pieces we put along the side of the end “pantry” type cabinet at the end in the kitchen as well as the trim we finished the island off with we got from Home Depot. I’m not sure if that part is even in this video. We also bought quarter round and added that too all the toe kicks to give them a more finished look. We took a cabinet door to Lowe’s and had them color match the paint and it’s a perfect match.
