I love this camera overall. Maybe i was too hard on it? What do you think? :) Thank you so much for watching. Don´t forget to like an subscribe, it help a lot. Markus :)
On one hand, it is a great little camera with awesome features useful for professionals. On the other hand, it isn't built to be a tool for professionals. The X-H2S might be a better fit for you since it is billed as a professional level product. I've seen reviews that say that the fan can dramatically increase the time it takes for the camera to overheat. I want to say up to 90mn depending on the settings and I think this is perfectly reasonable for a very large portion of people that will be using the camera. The weird thing is that I think other models have a 30mn record limit but the X-S20 doesn't for some reason. My 128GB cards can't fit more than about 30mn of footage anyway and I'll be shooting short B-roll clips so I doubt I'll ever see the warning light. EDIT: In a quick test of the camera sitting on my desk recording 6.2K 30fps H.265 Longop, the camera shutdown around 30mn.
Did you change the setting in power management? SETUP> POWER MANAGEMENT> AUTO POWER OFF TEMP> HIGH Generally it is set to standard by default which will show you immediately the overheating warning. But when you change it to high it will be good to go for long times
You can just get an 11 dollar universal rechargeable fan from soophon and set temperature warning threshold to high on your camera, your welcome..... Also there is a ulanzi fan V2 that is super efficient and powerful for 32 dollars, I own the and I can hit the recording limit of my older xt4 using 4k 60 10bit h265 4.2.0 200mb long gop outside in shade for sports shooting And all day 4k dci 30fps 200mb long gop in events h256 10bit 4.2.0
Yeah you have to adjust the heat setting in camera . I sat outside with it last weekend and recorded for about 45 mins without even a warning . I recorded at 4k 29.97 no issues .
I have a pre-ordered X-S20 and when photographing insects in pre-shot mode the yellow overheating warning was displayed. The camera was used in Trent Lock in the East Midlands in the UK at around 17:00 on the 8th of September 2023, but it was a hot day. It happened after about 90 minutes of photography, but most of the time I was waiting for insects to be in the right position. I had taken around 350 photographs that were saved in both jpg and raw formats so about 700 files were written to the card. The camera still uses the original firmware, I will update it and see if that helps.
What's your overheat setting at? Menu > Set Up (wrench icon) > Power Management > Auto Power Off. Temp If it's at Standard, try changing it to High and then redoing the tests you did. A camera as small as the X-S20 naturally doesn't have the cooling capacity that other larger bodies do. Physics :)
Its a small body. My xs20 overheats after 20 min checking menusettings. Then i tested filming 4k 30 fps until battery is down more than 1 hour. Imo no problems.
as I understand Fuji gave you a good hybrid camera for 1300$ with great video specs and with some limitations as overheating . But they came up with a solution for those who want to use this camera for more professional purposes, this is to buy a fan.
like sony has a overheating iusses , there is a setting in camera that resolve the over heating , also you can get the fan fuji makes that you can control the speed with in the camera which is around 200usd . or Ulanzy make a fan which cost $39 usd . for you pay this is very good value , 6.2open gate , so many codecs to choose from , and small form factor , just with fuji would have made the xs20 and h2 ,h2s be able to record to ssd direct.
I didn't really watched the video but i own the camera and it doesnt overheat (not even a warning) even when im shooting on 40°C+ celcius in Greece. So if you are gonna shoot 120fps for 5 minutes under direct sunlight then ok it may overheat. But under normal working conditions and holidays the camera will be fine.
21 degrees no sun, windy and it was a Little Bit cold. My Camera was Oberheated After i was Shooting sone photos in about 30min about i only Shot maybe about 5min in Full time. My Camera was always overheated. I dont trust that camera. I will search for something similar. Exactly like you said. It’s stressing. I couldn’t enjoy my holidays with that camera.
Overheating is always a thing with smaller apsc bodies this is nothing new. I believe you will get similar performance too with the XT series too. I have yet to receive my own xs20 so I will find out when I do
Initially I too received that warning but filming didn't stop , then after few days I don't know what happened I updated camera or something I stopped receiving that warning even after long 6k recordings in hot climate of India
Just got mine and it started to overheat while i was in the menus setting it up. 10 minutes after I turned it on, after adjusting the heat warning setting. ~15c ambient temp in my home. I want to use this really just for photography. Seems like it can’t even handle being on. Any suggestions?
In which bit rate did you film? 200 or 100. When I watched more video centric videos it seems that the camera in 4K 25 100 Bit it’s not overheating. As well hear warning to max. Would be cool to get there some more insight. Cheers
Do you have clipping/spiking audio? My XS20 audio spikes from time to time. In my opinion there is no reason for - I record audio in a silent room and BOOM: A cracking noise.
I agree with you, I am having the same issue, is impossible to use. I consulted with a fuji staff member and he even does not know. :(. I tried everything I found online to fix the issue and NOTHING works, and to make things worst, I am past the return time limit and cannot return it. If you find a solution please share it.
Yes ! I tried pretty much everything . Really frustrating . Even asked a Fuji rep and non even him had an answer . Hope Fuji comes up with a solution soon !😢
@@the1uckyone I am shooting 4k. 60FPS. pretty standard, I may have to buy the fan, which is absurd , I should not have to , is uncomfortable and $200 , totally overpriced
I was going to say the same thing, I’m curious if it would help at all as it seems to for other owners of this camera. I had an X100V and while I loved the size of it, it couldn’t record any 4k video past 4-5 minutes without it overheating and shutting down, so even this X-S20 would be an upgrade.
I changed mine and I have not got a warning so far. Filmed in studio with camera on for several hours - recording for several 20 mins blocks of time. No warning so far.
too strange . actually your 42 min in 4k are mine 42mins but in 6k , and I live in Mexico and its 30C + now ) But I did record in h265 codec , 4:2:2 I shot part of the wedding at +30С and at 6k a couple of days ago, and the camera did not overheat,
