@@JustineCarissa Thanks for the comment! Yes, Fort Lee has indeed emerged as a high demand location for buyers searching for property along the Hudson but don’t like the congestion of the Jersey City/Hoboken area. Are you a Fort Lee resident?
Hey @AHF, it could be worse...weather gets much colder further north in locations like Boston, Buffalo, and Toronto! You find a good number of residents to reside in Florida for the winter.
Thanks for the comment @Jerome. It is all relative when it comes to prices. Northern NJ is on the high end of the real estate market in general at the national level. And higher demand locations like Fort Lee are going to be even higher.
Traffic BLOWS here. Too expensive Parking rules, and more. Unless you work in NYC, this place makes zero sense. Gone are the days of humble homes with nice front and rear yards. Now just giant 2-family homes with no lots and constant renting. You’ll never have consistent neighbors. Central Jersey person here that has been here 7 years and can’t wait to leave.
I lived in Fort lee in the late 60's and early 70's. In 1970 I was in 9th grade in FL Public High School #1. There were 1200 kids in the school that year. I think there was like 3 black kids in the entire school that year. All nice kids lol. There were no black people in Fort Lee. It was 2 miles from Washington Heights NYC lol. very odd. Because no one would rent to them and no one would sell to them. Lots of mafia too but there wasn't really any crime either no bank robbery's no store hold ups no drug areas. The Police did not fuck around though you messed up you caught a hell of a beating on the way back to the police station. It was all working class neighborhoods the only high rise then was Horizon House and then soon after The Colony. It was actually a pretty nice place to grow up. Heavy italian great pizza great food. Now its all 100% Korean. Times change.

Fort Lee has really made improvements the past few years.

In the early 20th century Fort Lee was movie capital of America before moving to Hollywood. In the 30’s a lot of NY gangsters lived there.
Thanks for sharing @Roy, this is a very interesting fun fact!

I Love Fort Lee
Thanks for the comment @Rico, yes Fort Lee is a great community!
I live in Fort Lee half the year, and while it’s a great town, the climate of northern NJ is just atrocious.

Alan Alda lived in Fort Lee while filming MASH. He commuted every week to Hollywood, and came to Fort Lee on the weekends.
Great insight @Gregg, thanks for sharing!
He lived in Leonia, not Ft. Lee. Next town west.
@@hudsony777 Okay, I stand corrected, at least I was close. 😊
@@gregganderson5458 You were.
Although Sinatra's parents lived in Ft. Lee in the 50s/60s.
Is there bus service to Manhattan?
Hi @Matthew, absolutely! There is bus and ferry service to Manhattan although the ferry is in Edgewater, which is only about a 10 minute drive.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts @billthehofcollector4525. I understand that northern NJ along the Hudson is not for everyone!
