Very good video!! I have many of both of these brands. Like you said they are meant for different uses. 144001 handles amazing and is fast stock and on brushless it's NUTS fast!!. HBX are pure bashers that are super durable and fun as H*LL! Well, both are super fun 😁 Love it! Edit to add: AWESOME front flips Max!!! Keep up the fun bashing!! 😀
Thanks! They ARE both super fun! I’m sure we will end up with a BL motor in the 144 soon! Max appreciates that! He sure is proud of his front flips!! 😎😃😃👍
Awesome video and great job on the front flip Max. I've been running rcs for years and can't do one so super awesome job with that. I have both of those rc and I have to agree with you on the durability. Every time I take the 144001 out something bends or breaks. Right now the only straight thing on it is the chassis lol. I need to order some parts so I can have fun with it again. Great video, keep up the awesome job and thanks for the great entertainment
I agree on HBX durability I love my SG 1601 Pro smaller RC or not it never breaks and I’ve slammed it into solid concrete before, that’s really were these smaller scale RC’s shine. Great job Max on your front flip it was a good one👍keep it up buddy👊
Ageeed! Excited for my pro to show up! We crashed our 16890 and this 16889 a ton! Both need minor things. Thanks my friend! We really appreciate that! 😎😀👍👍
Great bashing, brutal landings on concrete with the 144001. Loved your video. I was inspired by your 9205e videos I put the 16890 wheels and body shell on the wltoys 144001 with a 3100kv 3650 motor and it flies and flips like a mad cheetah on 3s lipo.
I bet if flies lol. I’ll be doing something similar with it soon but starting with the stock motor (unless it burns up by then). Glad my videos inspired you! 😀
Love your videos, I just got a Hbx16889 Pro a and its my first RC. I'm curious how you can tell what body's would fit it or how to find larger tyres etc do you have any guides on getting started with customising cars?
Thanks!! Well you typically can use any body of the same scale, you just typically have to drill your own holes for the posts. I have many videos on customizing specific cars, including the hbx you got, mainly tire upgrades because it’s already a beast! You may learn a lot from checking out my other videos on that car, but much of what I learned is from research and trial and error. Pretty much everything I learn ends up on a video. 👍
I have two 16890 brushed 390s . After seeing videos of them doing wheelies. Running 3s and hitting 68km .. I bought two 2445 brushless engines stock 35 amp receiver and surpass one . Metal everything for 1 .. then the other I'm gna run all the plastic stuff see which goes faster last longer etc . Me and my stepson are gna Rip .. the 2445 are 5400kv. Loll I wonder if the upgraded drivetrain and pinion will work on a stock diff I have 2 kits comming to see !! Good videos 👍
Very cool! Yes they should work with the stock diffs! Eventually I’m sure they will strip down the plastic gears but should still last a while. Those 5400s should MOOOVE!!! Lol Thanks!
Awesome comparo brother! You nailed all the important differences and mini Max nailed the the perfect air controlled jump! That was great. Give him a 👊🏼💯 from me! I’m planning on doing a similar comparo soon between the budget bangers, just waiting for one of them to arrive. This was well done bud! 👊🏼to you too brother!
Thanks man!! He was very happy with his front flips and he finally understands how to make it stabilize after flipping in the air! Im actually about to watch your Raarlo(or whatever it is lol!) review! Thanks for your consistent support!! 😎😃
@@DerbyCityRC Just to clarify Max is better at bashing than I am. My Bigrock keeps finding rocks in my field. I am going to build some portable wooden ramps like yours (thanks for that video)but I am also making some permanent dirt ramps. It is still wet and muddy here. Ground is just starting to thaw. I think when it drys out I will rent a skid steer and go nuts.
He seems to be pretty good for his age! But I just mean you will get better with practice. I remember even just being amazed that it was possible to make a car do flips lol took me a long time to get it done, especially front flips. I practiced back flips on a small piece of wood set up at an angle against a wall.
@@DerbyCityRC I think that is what made me want to get into bashing. The air control. Growing up, nothing I had was ever powerful enough to control in the air. I saw some guys racing one day. Nosing the car down, and just sticking the landings. I needed to do that! I am getting better. I was at the skate park yesterday. I didn't even get the camera out. Just practice. The Bigrock is tough!!
Ya I had nothing but toy grades as a kid. The real cheap $20 toy cars lol. We got our Holyton as our first hobby grade about a year ago and kept going 👍👍
No problem we love your channel over here in Scotland and you guys are more entertaining than some of the more big channels and informative for knobs like me thanks guys
@@DerbyCityRC hell yeah i really appreciate that. Looking forward I love your content man you really show the potential and durability of these things. Your like whistlin diesel but for rc lol
They definitely have some parts, but sometimes under different brand names (even though they’re the exact same part). Seriously though things break so rarely on that truck that it’s worth the wait when something does finally break. I would just order it along with a few spares. We broke a wheelie bar once. I think we’ve bent a rear axle once or twice. Don’t think I’ve ever broken body posts. If it’s not in one of my videos on any of the 16th scale hbxs, then it hasn’t broken on us.
To me the WL Toys is a Speed Machine to set up speed records and do speed challenges, strapping a GPS to it and slamming the thottle and posting your Personal Bests.
Awesome videos bro.... 👍👍👍👍👍👍 Can you please make a quick comparison between HBX 16890 Vs HBX 16889A PRO??? Both brushless vesrions. Specs, Cons & Ads... Appreciated!!! Keep it up!!!!
Thanks man! Are you trying to decide between these two? The 16889a pro wins hands down due to the metal drivetrain and slightly larger motor, I plan on doing a video like this, but I have a few videos already started that need to come out first. Thanks so much!
I bought a hbx 16889 a while ago the dogbones always pop out. The wheels wobble so it cant go in a straight line. and the front link also pop out a ton. Oh yeah and one of the gears stripped so I wanted to replace them to metal and you basically have to by ever gear if you want to do that. DItched it and bought a traxxas slash.
I don’t have a slash, but I hear good things. The HBX 16889a PRO is the better option really, cuz it comes with metal gears and axles. Also an improved suspension arm system over the older version that help with the rear dog bones popping out from the upper arm popping off it’s socket. Hope you love the Slash!!
