    This PRO version is a big improvement over the original 16889a. Having much more to offer for not much more money and being able to handle the abuse as the original. A slight odd thing that it cannot do, that the original can, has me a bit confused!!

    The 16899a brushless has a 2435 brushless motor, 3900KV. The 16899a Pro has a 2840 brushless 3500KV motor. So, while it is bigger, the Pro motor is not quite as fast, but has more torque. That's why it doesn't do backflips. However, it should handle larger tires better.

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  Год назад

      It does handle bigger tires better for sure. 👍👍

    For flips, you have to change the tire rotation speed to cause it to flip. If the bigger motor does not allow you to flip, I am guessing your wheels are already spinning at max speed before getting airborn. This might be because you have more power and the wheels start to spin out on the ramp before you get off the ground. Maybe try letting off the throttle once the tires are on the ramp, then hit the throttle once in the air. Alternatively, more traction on the ramp may fix the problem. It makes sense that a stronger motor would spin at max speed without being off the ground, because it is not bogged down by the little rc car.

    Hardened metal gears is a big plus . I think they probably use d2 tool steel . It’s not a chippy steel when hardened and pretty available . They use it in a lot of knives . It’s a tool steel with high chromium content so it’s almost stainless at 12cr

      @@DerbyCityRC passed with flying colors. Wet sand, puddles, wet tarmac and wet grass. The only thing is that on wet smooth tarmac is hard to find traction sometimes and mine is the brushed one with 390 motor. With brushless it probably is useless on full throttle on this conditions. Now it's time after dinner to clean it and dry with air drier. Also, a little bit of oil on bearings and a final spray of silicone as usual. Great car. Recommended for anyone experienced or not.

    Get the lc racing monster truck tires they’re perfect size and it will back flip no problem and also do wheelies in reverse. I think the 2995 stock wheels on it are to big and they just make it a wheelie machine I think on carpet it might do a standing backflip with 2995 tires.

    HBX 16889A Pro woes and Misery.
    Hallo Everyone, after A LOT of checking I finally managed to figure out why the rear drivetrain of my Brand New HBX 16889A Pro is so noisy and why the car kept veering off to the left or right regardless of how I tried to trim the steering. I do not know why it is but on this specific HBX 16889A Pro there is ZERO free movement of the dogbones inside the drive cups at the rear if the camber of the car is set up correctly so that the tyres will not wear out on the outside only. The dogbones are jammed so tightly into the cups that there is no freedom of movement inside the cup. This of course makes a loud noise so that the car sounds like a mini Nitro car instead of an electric one. I still need to figure out how to drill the drive cups out so that the dogbones can move and that the car will be controllable. Anyhow there it is why my particular HBX 16889A Pro is doing this, there is NO free play in the sideshaft setup of this HBX 16889A Pro. I even tried putting in new dogbones and drive cups but it is still doing the same, so my assessment of either the swing arms being too short or the wheel bearing hubs being manufactured incorrectly might be an accurate conclusion on why this is the problem. I trust that this information will be helpful to everyone who is struggling with the same type of issue on their HBX 16889A Pro.

You can’t use standard wheel nuts on them either so fitting larger tires doesn’t work out well. Would you recommend 16889a Pro or the 903a that would sometimes drive on grass? Thanks!

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  Год назад

      For the grass, the 903a would probably be better since it is heavier and has bigger wheels. I have a similar car and it’s not quite as durable as the 16889a pro, but if you’re not doing crazy stuff like I do, I think it will be a great option for you!

      Yes but you have to squeeze it, which I prefer not to do.
      This one here fits much better, you just need an adapter from xt60 to deans.

    Hi Evan! The rear upper suspension arm has a lot of play at the upper screw. I was looking for aluminium arms. All are available except the rear upper ones. Neighter in Aluminium nor in plastik. Do you know where to get rear upper suspension arms?

    • @DerbyCityRC

      I had that problem too actually. The official website is www.Haiboxing-hobby.com.
      If it’s not listed on there, hit the contact button and they’ll help you out. Hopefully they’re available to buy still. I know they have the rear upper arms for the 16890, but those are not as good.

    Hi Mate!
    My truck (pro version) has a problem. When i turn the steering wheel half a millimeter to the left, the servo is shaking with high frequency. Which part do you think causes the problem, the radio, the esc or the servo itself?

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  2 года назад

      Try reversing the steering direction with the switch on the radio, and see if turning the steering wheel in the same direction causes the shaking, or if it does it when you turn the steering to the right instead.

    • @ferdinandmaier1070
      @ferdinandmaier1070 2 года назад

      @@DerbyCityRC At the first time i tried this the shaking was after turning into the other direction. But in the meantime it is gone. But when i steer slowly (both directions) there is a strange noise (clicking/cracking) at some angles. When steering fast, everything is ok.

    • @DerbyCityRC
      @DerbyCityRC  2 года назад

      If the steering shake changed to the other direction, my first guess is it’s not the radio. Probably either the esc or servo. Also for the cracking sound, make sure the little black screws on the steering arm are not too tight.

    Would you recommend having a stock of any parts in particular for these trucks?

    • @DerbyCityRC

      I always recommend that. Lol
      An extra shock or two,
      Bumper and wheelie bar,
      1.5mm x 10 mm axle pins
      And 2mm x 10mm wheel pins.
      Wheel hexes.
