I see a lot of comments about Josh popping the question. Honestly if he does, that’s their business, and if they choose to let us know when that happens…. That’s also their business. Right now, I just see two wonderful people sharing their lives together and just enjoying life. THEY are the ones who carry the camera and allow us to have just a small peak into their lives. No matter what happens, ring or no ring, I just hope the great content keeps coming and that they have the happiest life together.
You guys are definitely the Dynamic Duo of RUclips right now. Totally outstanding piece of work. Breathtaking vistas with the personal shots blended in, a masterpiece. Huge respect for the hours, post trip editing, I’m sure.
I discovered your channel a little over a month ago. The second video I watched was your most recent trip to Lajitas. Your flight over the domes allowed me to catch a glimpse of a home (now Casa Grande), I used to stay at during my Thanksgiving trips to stay with one of my best friends. They sold the Lone Star Ranch a few years ago to Jeff to build the domes and cave casas. Seeing the ranch from the air was absolutely epic. I’m so glad you got to go up to the summit, that was my favorite spot in Texas. Thanks for sharing your experiences. And it’s wonderful to watch the life you are building together with Chelsey. Wishing you two many decades of smooth flights.
I think I must be doing some vicarious living watching you two. I am 88 and happy to say my wonderful wife and I have done some exploring this world of ours. I really hope the memories go with us when the time comes. Stay happy, you two.
Josh, been following your channel for a few years now. You are a true pro at films; and of course flying. You provide a great service to aviation safety. Keep it up mate. From Cape Town, South Africa
Great video. I had watched part 1 when it dropped. Saw this in my feed tonight and made my wife come take 20 minutes out of her evening to watch it with me. We are both awestruck by how beautiful that area is.
That was an amazingly well done video. We also love the Big Bend. Once upon a time, Terlingua featured a beer drinking goat that was in a pen for tourists to watch. The goat would, in fact, drink a can of beer when it was given to him.
I’m just part of the choir, but U2 radiate together and you’re editing and filmmaking is terrific. I was in the business for 38 years and I see good work from you. Chelsea you two make a good team and he glows when you’re around
Great adventure, beautiful and, at the same time, very rugged scenery, and superb video. Some the most well done video done on any RUclips content. Professional in every way. Well done! Thanks for the ride along. Looking forward to the next adventure.
Wow! Josh your skills as pilot and a filmmaker are outstanding...the visuals and editing on this are beautiful...great job surprising Chels too! Thanks for sharing this adventure...
Josh I have to say for me this is one of your best videos yet. Being a native of San Antonio I never have been to the Big Bend area, your video along with a couple of others has put this area on my bucket list. Can't wait to see it for myself.
Beautiful. Need I say more. And that's just Chelsea!! No. Seriously... Josh that was awesome and hit me where you intended. I love 'Solitude & Beauty' - and this hit the mark.
love this Josh! I love that you're focusing on the "zen" and what flying enables, not just the flying itself. your video work is so fantastic- the worst b-roll is better than the best I've ever filmed. I put it full-screen on a 4k monitor and wore headphones to enjoy it.
What a fantastic trip you two…and a great video. Thank you for sharing with all of us. Great videography, editing…that’s a boatload of work! Thanks for taking us along…look forward to the next one! Happy to see Chels so surprised too…nice work Josh!
I grew up in the desert. I will never understand what outsiders find so mesmerizing about it. No water, just snakes, scorpions, gravel, rock, and hellish sun...that Never ever stops. Lol
After watching this video we had to pay them a visit last week and it was amazing. If you like star gazing and peacefulness this is your place. We will go back for another visit.
First, thank you for the time and effort to make these great films. Also thank you for sharing your personal celebration of a birthday and Valentine's Day. I enjoy your channel MUCHO!
This video series was truly inspiring and amazing. My wife and I are headed to summit lodge next September. Can't wait to see the Texas sights. (from VT)
I did my first camping as a young boy out in West Texas. I’ve now got a son of my own, and I can’t wait to take him out west. Hopefully, we will fly in!
Super cool man. Stunning video and cinematic editing. I can only imagine how many hours of work it took to produce this video. Just incredible! I love the flying videos, but the thing that I’ve discovered after watching this video is that you need to make the destination the focus of your trip, as much as you do about the flying aspect, or you risk turning into a total airplane nerd (like I already am) and alienate yourself from the special someone in your life that is flying with you, regardless whether they are a pilot or non-pilot. Great choice of destination and accommodations. Josh, It was great meeting you at Oshkosh this year at the pavilion!
Fantastic, man well done. Thanks for speaking to the diminishing romance with curiosity in the broader culture, and putting words together to temper the blind, hurried pursuit of the mirage that is the notion of certainty.
Met you Josh a couple of times at past Airventures, met you again this year with the lovely Chelsea at AirVenture, and talked about stuff including my newly flying RV-14. Yous guys are an integral part of my aviation RUclips experience, I’m a happy cockpit club member, this installment is cool. My RV-14 is based at KSAD, which was on one of the videos when you stopped for fuel there. That’s home for me, and when I entered T89 into ForeFlight, that makes a very do-able trip. What a cool place! I love the AZ desert as much as you love the Texas desert. Thanks for another great series!
You do make me miss Texas for sure. I lived there moons ago, stationed at Bergstrom AFB. I loved it. Your videos are always awesome no matter the topic. Thanks for your work!
From our beautiful irrigated farm with a quarter section of never plowed land home site and its many acres lake in the Panhandle, I've never experienced sweeter air or more pleasant mornings anywhere. But then again, I remember thunderstorms topping out at 80,000 to 100,000ft rushing headlong up & over the Caprock, or three feet of snow now covering the ground that was bare 20 minutes ago. My wife on her first visit stood aghast as we looked across the Plano Escotada & me saying, "Isn't it beautiful!" She said, "What's beautiful?" ....I guess you have to be born to it
Adding this to my bucket list. If you ever make a trip like this to Wyoming, send me a note. I’m a syndicated talk show host heard on stations around Wyoming and the region. Also a pilot. I can show you fascinating places you’ll want to fly to and stay.
You two have an idyllic lifestyle and make the most of your lives. I know you both are very busy but still take the time to make special memories, I'm thankful you let us come along. Have y'all been to the observatory? Try to go at night and look through one of the telescopes, the place is very romantic for couples and there is the Indian Lodge right down the road with a good restaurant on site.
As always, a great video Josh - scenic, superbly edited, great demonstration of safe and proficient flying, and a fun experience memorialized. Only one thing missing: Josh, my brother, it’s time! Valentine’s day, Chelsie’s birthday, incredible setting? Bro….💍
Wow, oh well Josh and Chels. Great job with the video the drone shots. The overall ability of you and your skill with that camera. I envy you and Chelsea. I do wish you and Chels many happy circles around the sun as some have said take care Josh and Chelsea.
Its great Josh actually reads our Comments... He's one of the few that do.... Anyway with that said im sure in time he will be Popping the ? And we will all be there for it... Maybe he did already.. this was shot in Feb and were seeing it in October.. We Can Wait..... Just...... Git r Done soon...😅
Exceptional camera and editing work. I may be biased as I share your appreciation for that part of our state. You might want to consider flying in to Alpine some time. Some great B&B's there and you can check out Marfa, Valentine, Alpine, and Marathon areas. Probably not the volume of things to see compared to Big Bend, but still has that magical feel in the area.
I have spent many days in the Terlingua area. I serve with a ministry called Grace of Giving that delivers food to the Texas / Mexico border and their logo come from a picture of the crosses in the Terlingua cemetery. Thank you for all your posts and I hope to one day meet you at an airport somewhere.
i've seen Big Bend multiple times, both from on the ground inside the park, and though the sighting window of the boom compartment while doing Air Refueling with a receiver on the AR197 track. It is stunning scenery from every angle, and I'd love to visit there again sometime in the future.
Looks like a nice place to stay. Might have to try it out. Years ago we made a trip to Big Bend and had reservations in Terlingua. However, when we got to the park we were able to get a place in the park and cancelled Terlingua. We hiked into Santa Elina canyon until the trail ran out and headed back. It was a great trek. We also crossed into Mexico in a rented gutted out aluminum boat at Boquillas and walked a mile to a little village for beer. Then back to the boat and back to the U.S. The river is not deep there and the cost was US$1.00 each way. You two had a lot of fun and looking forward to future adventures
We visited Big Bend, unfortunately by car, about 5 years ago. It is truely an amazing NP. I only wish now that we could have seen it from the air like you did. Maybe in a few years I will get my Aussie PPL recognised by the FAA so I can do it when we visit the USA again.
This is just awesome! I always liked your aviation stuff but this getaway of you to two was spectacular! I hope I'll make it to Big Bend NP during my annual board meetings in US sometime. All the best from Kaziranga National Park!
People still bury their loved ones in the Terlingua Cemetery. It's a phenomenal place to shoot night Milky Way timelapse and stills when Sagittarius is setting in the west. It's also where I saw a ghost :) Legit. Maybe. Idk... I've never tried the hike up to Mesa de Anguila (above Santa Elena Canyon and to the right) but the view down on the Rio Grande from up there photographs well. I'm glad that you got to eat at the Starlight. It's iconic. There's an old church around the corner that photographs well. The restaurant up in the Basin closes in December if I remember right. They are going to tear it down and rebuild it. It's going to take 2 years and the lodging will be closed too. That's a bummer. I typically stay in the Basin when I go to BiBe. I wish you could have hiked up to the South Rim (go up Pinnacles trail. That's my favorite way to go). When you top out... it's amazing. Take a lunch and sit at the ranger cabin park bench for a while. I could type for hours... Guess what's below the window? Waaaay below. Cattail Falls. Fairly short hike and when you're the only one or two there... it's amazing. I've caught it when it was just a trickle and I've caught it gushing. Never caught it dry. The Window Trail is not easy. I don't care what they call it. The down hill to the window is fine. The uphill hike back up, facing into the sun as it crests over Casa Grande, is tough. Another fun and easy location in the park is the Mariscal Mine. That's back on the River Road. Running the River Road is a kick. I've thought about flying out to Terlingua but that airport is sketch. I'm glad you did this video. Something to consider... Great video as always Josh.
C??? Made a comment a few months back that J sucked bc he had a Mech at his side. This??? Now I dont like you C!!! LoL. Gezzz guys!!! Been watching J for 6 plus years now. Thanks for this experience. Been alot of places but not Big Ben. A+! The fact you guys can share like this. Is heart felt and humbling. FYI, I'm Eastern North Carolina and you flew by going south several weeks back. Hi!!! LoL. Thank you guys. My time with you is worth it...To the soul!!!! Awesome!!!! 😎😎😎

Great video guy's, was epic, beautiful scenery ,great company, love the way you suprised your pretty lady on her special day.
Chelsea is so beautiful it makes this grandfather smile for you both.
You’re an excellent filmmaker. I’m always impressed with the videography and your narration weaves together a great story.

Incredible video! Makes me wanna go there... perfect music choice
Great Video, She was probably thinking there might have been a ring involved!
I’m just part of the choir, but U2 radiate together and you’re editing and filmmaking is terrific. I was in the business for 38 years and I see good work from you. Chelsea you two make a good team and he glows when you’re around
I appreciate that! Filmmaking is something I'm just as passionate about as aviation.
Love the format one of the few aviation channels that shows what a plane lifestyle not just the cockpit.

Nice adventure, good work filming, editing and flying (bonus for music selection!)
Great adventure, beautiful and, at the same time, very rugged scenery, and superb video. Some the most well done video done on any RUclips content. Professional in every way. Well done! Thanks for the ride along. Looking forward to the next adventure.

Thanks so much for putting in the time for all of this.
Seems so humble and beautiful.

Was I the only one waiting for a proposal on this trip?
Nope. Spoiler though thanks
Heck no, no use in ruining a good thing.
Didn’t see you on the trip………. Maybe if you had gone too?
Must admit I was wondering if kiddies' booster seats would fit ok in N80991
Right lol

There is always a story, a journey with your vids. That is why I like them.
I'm glad you're liking the content. I love producing this stuff!
Videography and music on point bro!!
Great video and great relaxful music.
Fantastic, man well done. Thanks for speaking to the diminishing romance with curiosity in the broader culture, and putting words together to temper the blind, hurried pursuit of the mirage that is the notion of certainty.
Thank you for sharing an experience I will never get. It was so beautiful.
Yes, we also have to think to creator of such beautiful things like the earth and the gift of life to enjoy them!
Beautiful area. Never been there. Thanks for unveiling this place of nature’s created beauty!
Great video! This wasn't even an area I was aware of, now it is on my bucket list!!
BEAUTIFUL place!

Another amazing video Josh!!
You do make me miss Texas for sure. I lived there moons ago, stationed at Bergstrom AFB. I loved it. Your videos are always awesome no matter the topic. Thanks for your work!
Bergstrom is where I learned to fly. I love Texas! Thanks for your support 🤙🏼
Incredible videography and a wonderful surprise.
Nicely planned!!
Thanks for a great video, now i have another item for my bucket list.

By the way .....in our home, highly expanded and modernized ; we walked on the floors that were the headquarters of the fabled 6666 Ranch
Adding this to my bucket list. If you ever make a trip like this to Wyoming, send me a note. I’m a syndicated talk show host heard on stations around Wyoming and the region. Also a pilot. I can show you fascinating places you’ll want to fly to and stay.
Another amazing video. Loved this!
Just WOW! The stars
Good morning from Minnesota!! Fantastic episode!!
Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Fantasstic photoography!! Fantastic Scenery!! Watched full screen on my pc. Just amazing. Thanks.
Excellent, thoughtful reflection
I love that area of TX. I worked around Alpine, Pecos, Ft. Stockton, Ft. Davis area over the years. I enjoyed your video very much.
I love it out there!

On the second (or was it the third) watch of this video, amongst all the splendor (yes, going to summitbigbend link next), what was the tech at 21:11?
Drone controller!
Just spectacular from start to finish👌
I just downloaded a repaint of your plane for the msfs2020 c172! that's awesome!
i've seen Big Bend multiple times, both from on the ground inside the park, and though the sighting window of the boom compartment while doing Air Refueling with a receiver on the AR197 track. It is stunning scenery from every angle, and I'd love to visit there again sometime in the future.
That's not a bad way to take in the scenery!

Very nice video, I kept waiting for a big surprise annoucment. 💍
Janis and I said we have to make it out that way, such a cool place!!!
We visited Big Bend, unfortunately by car, about 5 years ago. It is truely an amazing NP. I only wish now that we could have seen it from the air like you did. Maybe in a few years I will get my Aussie PPL recognised by the FAA so I can do it when we visit the USA again.
By car is just as beautiful!
The idea is cool, but I especially appreciated the professional quality of the video, stable images, clear audio, dynamic cuts. 🎉 and 🙏👍
Thanks! I love filmmaking and editing, and I think the quality is worth the time it takes to edit these.
This is just awesome! I always liked your aviation stuff but this getaway of you to two was spectacular! I hope I'll make it to Big Bend NP during my annual board meetings in US sometime. All the best from Kaziranga National Park!
Kaziranga! I bet it’s beautiful out there.
Pop the question, mate. It's time.
Beautiful Mexican Territory 😍

Thanks for sharing Michael! It's such a beautiful area.
Amazing video!
Just great!
I am watching Chelsea’s birthday vid on My Birthday! Here’s to all of us getting a bunch more laps around the sun 🌞
Happy birthday! 🥳
