- Lee Bottom (64I) is a fantastic spot on the Ohio River to have a picnic. Chelsea has been coming here for years, and now that she's introduced me to it, I'm hooked on this place!

Cessna "when a door closes another one opens, other than that it's a pretty good aircraft" 🤣
Welcome to my flying neighborhood. I'm based at Clark County (KJVY) and both Bowman Field and Lee Bottom are very familiar destinations for my wife and I throughout the year. Don't be a stranger!
I really appreciate the briefings, attention to detail, and level of professionalism I see from your channel, Steveo1kinevo, and CitationMax. Some of these aviation channels leave a lot to be desired in regard to judgement, decision making and airmanship.
It never gets old........
ahh, that pizza looks delish, and that red racer, just a beautiful plane
Your narration: There is simply no room for improvement.
Lee Bottom is awesome! Nice to see some familiar airports on the channel. I took my medical flight test at JVY and my FAA written at Bowman back in 2015, and finally found time to fly my 150 into Lee Bottom in 2020 (I'm over in Southwest Indiana). Great grass strip and a such an awesome resource for a picnic, camping under the wing, or just dropping in for a visit. I also took my 150 over to Bowman to see if anyone remembered it, as it spent several years making pilots there in the late 70s/early 80s. What an awesome experience when SDF cleared me over the numbers 35L and 35R on the way into LOU - got to see a pair of UPS Airbus do parallel takeoffs right as I flew over. Great content as always Josh, thanks for sharing!
The drone operator was on point with those landing shots.
Rich and Ginger are the best! The fly-in every year was some of my favorite memories. I was the young kid running around in the gator all day. Not many realize how much time and effort they put in to keep it going.
Close to my neck of the woods. Ohio River.... aka, the Mighty Muddy.
Formation with loved ones. One of my three aviation dreams. Such a beautiful thing.
Seeing their smiling faces in the next plane is so special!
It is indeed a great spot on the river. I went to college up the bluff at Hannover College in the sixties.
Josh: Really touched me with this episode. Having grown up in Louisville, learning to fly out of Bowman in the late 70s and after some snooping learned that Chelsea had worked for "Bob" , as I had, out of Somerset Ky while I was in A&P school. Such a close community, ManyThanks on this one!!
Re: the break away maneuver, takes me back to watching Sky King when I was a kid, his turn and bank away from the camera in the intro was always cool. Watching your break brought that to mind! Fly safe!
Josh, haven’t watched a video I didn’t like, this is one of my favorites! Nothing like spending time and making memories with family and friends!!!!
Awesome !!!!!,thank you.
Really great, appreciated, thanks for sharing thrilling experience congratulations to all wonderful video and useful detailed information, excellent photography 🙏
N691TC with the low pass i see you!
This has to be the coolest channel I have ever found. I can’t get enough! With your informative information in these videos I am seriously considering going to aviation school. I currently weld aerospace parts for a living and have always wanted to fly. Thanks for the confidence!
YESSS!!! Lee Bottom!!! I like to see your flying videos in my neck of the woods!
Isn’t it the best!
@@Highmaintenance_chels It sure is! Another great one is Hagerstown Indiana I61 4000' grass just north of I-70. We did a weekend campout fly-in there last week.
@@ChrisFeasterpilot we will have to check it out! Thanks for the suggestion, fly safe 😃
Been flying since 1980. Made me grin ear to ear to hear the girls reveling in the simple joy of flight. Looks exactly the same as it did back then. 1966 C150 - might be the same airplane. "It never gets old."
So fun to watch because it looked so relaxing and fun especially with Chelsea at the controls. Nice pictures of her flying one of the two planes in formation to a grass runway along the river with pizza for a picnic. You had a extra seat, wish I were along with you. Thanks for sharing.
Lived not far from here -- use to fly my helicopter there ... when no one was around ... great scenery in Hanover, IN & the Ohio River. The power plant down river from Lee Bottom - my father put that in with his construction company - He would fly over the progress of that in the early 80's and I helped take photo's in his Beechcraft A36 ... good memories.
I love you guys, such a cute couple!!!
Sending love back at ya friend! Blue skies 😃
My son and I recently toke a c/152 up to Coopertowns NY.. what a great flight 6500’ through NY air space. Had lots of BIG birds to thread my way through. Been flying 25 years now and I can’t get enough. That’s again Josh.
I know that scenery well... I go from Evansville to Louisville a couple times a year. Sadly, never by air. Great to see you in my neck of the woods. The country is much smaller when you have a plane
Do you fly out of Evansville? If so what do you fly? I am based in Carmi. Never been to this airport but will have to check it out
@@jmharms2000 I fly a Cherokee 140 out of EVV!
Love Lee Bottom! Thanks for showcasing this great little airport!
I didn't realize private planes were allowed to fly so close together. It was very cool, especially the break! Thanks for another great video.
Josh I just want to say thank you, I took my first training flight today! Your videos are both a source of inspiration for doing this, and a source of learning and understanding that helped me be able to understand some of what I was doing and seeing today.
Took my first lessons on a grass strip in NC. nothing like it...and there's nothing like that radial sound!
A true pleasure to watch.
You ought to stop by Hanover, Pennsylvania. The pretzels and chips are awesome.
My dad and I flew in his 1929 Pietenpol Aircamper to Lee Bottom for the 2016 fly-in…they served the best steak I’ve ever had on Styrofoam plates.
I hate to see private aviation dying, good thing your helping bring it back
Never gets old watching your videos been doing it for a long time. Safe travels.
Outstanding.
Great video. Being in those small planes looks exciting. Watching videos like these sure makes me feel like I'm missing out. keep on flying. Let's go Brandon!
Let us GO! Brandon
Very nice Josh! Good stuff!
What a great flight:) Thanks!!!!
This was absolutely amazing!! Great job! Fun times.
11:26 - using full flaps landing a C-150. Learning from a recent Dan Gryder's accident, C-150 might not have enough power for a go around with full flaps in the event the flaps get stuck, so please be careful. I myself did not know this about C-150's as I spent all of my time in a PA-28-140 flying as a private pilot.
Gorgeous field! Thanks for sharing Josh!
GREAT to see Chelsea as PIC!!
Thanks for sharing.
What a great video- thanks for sharing!
LOVE your videos! Thank you so much for sharing your flights on here. You all rock! ✈☀️👩✈️💞👨✈️✈
His videography and cinematic skills are phenomenal! It’s a joy getting to film with him, such a talent
Awesome video, Josh. What great memories you are making!!!
Aviation never gets boring!
That looks like great fun!

She….. is so right for you….Chelsea you rock girl….
Great video..thank you so much.
Jodh,
That's what it's all about!

Great tour love the impromptu video. Keep up the good work
Enjoyed the info on Bowman. Well done.
Excellent video!!
Class vid as usual 👍😁
Steve.
Dude! What an awesome video. Love how you got footage from both planes.
Fantastic!
Josh, great job on the video, flying, and the formation. I have been a longtime subscriber and you keep making some great videos. Kudos
Great video man. Always a good day when you post. Love the content, keep up the hard work! Fly safe.
Lee Bottom has been on my bucket list for awhile, can't wait to check it out.
Another great video!! Formation flight, great drone shots and beautiful scenery all around! I really enjoyed it!!
Was a special day, couldn’t have asked for better people, weather, food, or transportation! We are so grateful
Super fun video Josh....so glad you are working with Dan on GA Safety and being a superior CFI......All the Best!
@@sethadams4871 So I wasn't suggesting Josh is anywhere near Dan, but Dan mentioned he was working with Josh in his last video N4765N part 3. In 1986 my first lesson, my CFi (who was a retired 727 Capt).....we did chandelles and stalls in my first lesson....his point was leave the controls alone and the Cessna would recover itself.....that was a long time ago....I am NOT a pilot now, but if was was signing up for lessons now....Josh would be someone I could trust and relate to.
I really love seeing the small grass strips that I have no prior knowledge of .. great video
Such an awesome channel. This is what life should be about - living your passion and finding new and creative ways to enjoy it.
Beautiful video
Thank you for sharing.
From Louisville myself and enjoyed your flight. Flew right over my moms house. You guys rock! Fun flight!
Excellent stuff bro
Always enjoy following your adventures!! Keep it up and stay safe out there!
Blue skies
Loved it.
That's a great airfield! It's the first grass strip I ever flew into. I did all my training out of Clark county! Great content my dude!
Drone shots for the win!
awesome job as always! makes me want to learn to fly
Great video Keep up the Great video's
Great video Josh. Lots of precious cargo in the 150. Have a good one sir.
Blue Skys and Tailwinds
Love this, nice landing strip and most important, friends and family flying with. Also love the detail and professional way you publish these videos. Keep up with the quality videos, great stuff!! Safe flights. Greetings from Nooitgedagt Farm, Sutherland, Northern Cape, South Africa
Nice camera angles on the landing into lee bottom!
I have been waiting for this video for lonnng! Excellent editing, so much fun to watch and to see Chelsea in your videos brings so much "life" to them. What an awesome experience and how fortunate for us to be able to share with you.
Jim, we are so grateful! Thanks for coming along on the ride - how could we not have fun, flying still feels like a dream 🥰
I’m a student at ATP at Clark co so that’s awesome to see people going to Lee bottom!
Awesome! 👏
"Three Zero Faaaaahve Six X-Ray" sounds beautiful to Australian ears :)
And the win goes to Chelsea. Thanks for the great vlog Josh.
I just LOVE your videos!
Ahh UPS, my job for the last 24 years. I hope to retire from there in the next 2 to 3 years and go airline pilot as I am working on my commercial now. I can't tell you the amount of planes that fly in every day to Orlando from Louisville. Scenery looks great, keep on flying!
Good luck with your training! LOU has been my home airport! We have a great community here
So cool formation! 😎
This is a great video. Loved seeing the adventure, bonding and the passion for flying.
Couldn’t agree more!
I love it !!!
This is awesome
As always great video
Great vid Josh!
Great video, you're the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The drone footage on touch down was a cool surprise.
691TC with the low approach
Almost diverted into Bowman the other day going into KLEX. Awesome video, Lee Bottom is now on my list! 🤙
A pristine public grass strip! Take a weekend and pack a tent!
Just found your channel and cannot stop watching your videos. Well done they are amazing videos. I am going to recreate some of your flights in MSFS2020 since you have some spectacular routes
Great job. Long time viewer. Just wish you could post twice a week. Worth the wait though. Gig em
Awesome video! Hope to be there one day🙏
Not quite the same but I've done a lot of sim flying in and out of a Louisville. So many UPS flights.
So cool seeing both of you formation flying over the city.
I camped at Lee Bottom a couple of times when they used to have a large annual fly-in. Those were great times. I wish that they would do it again, but it was hard work for a few volunteers and I think that they had to give it up. BTW, my dad trained at Bowman Field with his C-46 crew before departing for the China, Burma, India Theatre during WWII.
