@@BashNcrash Oh crap I meant to say the 015 LOL. I had the 010 and I realized that it was alittle slower and less accurate then the 015. I think there is a 0.3-1.0 mph difference between them.
@@BashNcrash 4S is what got it to break 70+ mph. I see what you did..... you took a series connector and used two 2S lipos while putting the Vxl-3m esc in nimh mode instead of Lipo mode right ?....... lol.... I could be wrong.
So for putting into nimh mode, do you need an nimh battery? I don’t have one anymore. My traxxas original batteries- one just lost power over time and other blew up on the beach. I’ve been on 2s lipo since then but want more speed now. I am on the smaller pinion that came in box. Would this work for 4s? And will 4s not work in lipo mode?
I think all you have to do is power on the esc and then press and hold the button in for around 10 seconds to switch between lipo and nimh modes. It gets hot super fast on 4s so I don't really recommend doing it. It wont work in lipo mode cause the esc is only rated for up to 3s lipo. If you gear up a little it will go 50+ on 3s.
The gearing is 33/43, I don't know the exact temps but the motor and esc gets pretty hot after each pass and has to cool down a few minutes before doing another.
By the way I was thinking of going with these Jaco Foams but I hate foams compared to rubber wheels. I like regular wheels that either balloon or dont balloon. With foams it’s better to use a bigger motor and esc in my opinion. For the small e Revo stock Vxl system the Contact Foams that I used took away 11-14 mph........ I HATED THEM LOL.
Rubber wheels are nice, I only use the foams for speed runs because they don't balloon. I put some smaller foams on it and lost a few mph but not 11-14 dang haha. I'm hoping to get a bigger motor and esc in it soon 👍
@@BashNcrash I want to break 70+ with my mini e revos lol. I’m gonna keep the stock systems in them for now and probably cheat with that series connector and two 2S lipos in nimh mode lol. I know I will get atleast 73-78 mph.
@@gorillabeartech4577 My best with it is 71 mph. Let me know what kind of speeds you hit if you try it. I just wanna say I don't recommend it lol. Good luck 👍
I just got my E-Revo last week and I've been thinking about upgrading it for top speed. When it gets going real fast does it flip over because the front end gets lift or is it because there's so much power left in the motor it's doing a wheelie?
Congrats on your new E-Revo! If you're running the stock tires I think it's mostly from the tires expanding that causes it to lift and flip at high speeds.
@@danielduncan8345 I used the Traxxas Series Connector and connected two 2S LiPo's in series. You risk burning up your motor and esc so I don't really recommend doing it.
I have two of these man they are phenomenal !. The fastest I was able to get one out of the two was 65.2 mph. That was with 34 pinion 43 spur and the regular mini 4000kv stock vxl velinion traxxas motor and esc. Esc of course is the vxl-3M. The small one that is..... but damn..... you got 70 mph on 4S whew !!!!!!!. I did the 65.2 mph with a stock Traxxas wheelie bar, stock system and two 3S max amp 100C 11.1 Volt batteries on Proline Racing Trencher 2.2 wheels all four front and rear. I used a Max Amps mini Parallel connector as well. Two 3S Max Amp 1,850 MAH 3S 11.1 Volt lipos.
That's a really nice speed you hit on 3s with the stock system. My fastest on 3s is 47mph but that was with stock everything. I was gonna wait to do more speed runs once I get a new motor/esc but now you got me wanting to do more speed runs on 3s with the stock system haha 👍👍
@@BashNcrash The stock system at most will give you 64-66 mph on max gearing which would only be able for you to put 34/43. 34:43 gearing on 3S will get 65.2-65.6 mph Atleast depending on the condition of the electronics of course. My mini e Revo Vxl systems have been used up for the last 2-3 years that I’ve owned both e revos. It’s been a good 2+ years almost 3 that I’ve had them though. One of the two cars had a motor and esc go out 2 times. I had to change out a motor once and stock vxl-3M esc’s twice atleast. The stock mini e Revo Vxl systems have trouble holding up after 6 months to about a year and a half if you are running them only for speed like I do. The stock electronics like I said have trouble keeping up with heat. The 34/43 gearing is too demanding on the esc and the motor man..... for longetivity they suck. For short time they are excellent. A 1/10 brushless combo which is a big block conversion is obviously better..... but the likelihood of stripping things goes up much higher. You need black hardened steel Integy gears.
@@gorillabeartech4577 Yeah I don't see it going faster than 66 mph with the stock system. I haven't had any problems with it yet but the gearing and bigger tires are definitely too demanding on the esc, I can barely get one pass in before it shuts down.

What batteries do you recommend for more speed for E-Revo ??
I've been using Traxxas batteries and haven't had any issues with them. A bigger pinion gear and/or smaller spur gear will give it more top speed.
Wait is this with what motor and esc
This is with the stock Velineon 380 motor and esc.

I used two Traxxas 2200mah 2s lipos connected in series.
