I was around when truggy racing wasnt a thing yet and know the MT class pretty well. There was a small block class (under .21 engines) and a big block class (.21 engines and over). The Revo and Tamiya TNX were the top dogs in the small block MT class, while the Savage and LST tended to be top dog in the big block class, although some Revos with big block conversions did do well when they weren't broke in big block class. At some point some of the racers wanted in on the action and started mounting up MT tires and bodies to their 1/8 buggies. They did so well that the big companies added a longer chassis to the buggy and the Truggy as we know it was born. Of course, they did so well that the trucks were separated into MT and Truggy and eventually MT died off in favor of the better performing Truggy class because it took a LOT of work to get an MT to be competitive in the MT class by that point.
My first truck was a Team Associated RC10 truck.. I did ALOT of bashing with it till I found the pleasures of racing, then after that the bug had fully set in and the upgrades were a thing.. Then the inevitable happened and it destroyed the trans in my truck while doing routine maintenance and missed one single stupid washer and my racing days were co.pletely over.. And by that point my Losi buggy was down for whatever reason as well.. But MAN were those some good times entertaining BIG races for my area and even just the simple every weekend races were so much fun
Same dude, my first race truck was the original LST, I broke a lot from being new and the truck being developed into a race truck. Eventually moved to a revo until that class died. Loved the MT class. Truggy is too similar to buggy for me, liked having the different disciplines.
My first gas car was a Losi XXXNT. It was so fun I got a TMaxx and learned quickly there was a big difference. I couldnt imagine what it would cost to get the MT to handle as well as the stadium trucks.
Naw, this is just a demo as to why the erevos suck so much.. And yes I know Mark will debate it to the death which is rightfully so because of his love for them.. But unfortunately the erevo is a trailer queen
@growlingbehemoth First off, thanks for the info. I enjoy the off-road bashing. But I am interested in both, the only actual track nearby is a road course as well. Currently I am just throwing the Stampede at everything I see. But I noticed upgrade parts get expensive fast. I am kinda looking to compare to other entry level cars.
you mention the Tekno cars being fairly bulletproof and low maintenance... that's awesome and one of the reason my son and I love our Tekno cars. If 2 wheels spin free, AE.... if 4 wheels go, Tekno! You also mention RC people all having nice cars... I live rural, miles from pavement on a road that would make me feel bad about driving such a nice vehicle....lol My race transport vehicle is a beat up GMC Safari that suits where I live and is AWD which is required to get to and from my house in winter. I bought it for like 1200 bucks, and it's saved us more than that by not always buying hotels for weekend long race events.... so i feel like it's earned it's keep....lol Cheers mister!

You get my favorite type of rain, that it’s so warm & humid it starts to rain, rain it’s pretty rare up in my area otherwise I hate hot & humid. Congratulations on the wins 👍🏽
Never come to KY if you hate hot and humid! It rains every day here and it’s always so thick you can ride a bike and get wet in daylight from the moisture in the air! Riding of a night I get soaked like it’s raining just from fog, low clouds basically but still hot and humid!
I banana'd the aluminum brace. Made my own out of 1/4" thick 6061. My current running issue is I break the center channel cover, then it flexes so bad it bends my lipos. Just replaced the cover with an alloy one... will likely make it break the chassis in the front/rear or just rip the bolts out holding the cover in place.
You can dial out that body roll easy enough. And yeah, you would need to upgrade a few key parts to make it durable. the biggest thing to worry about are the diffs.
Vapletrichs Gne LOL... I was talking about the chick walking behind him for a sec there who threw the nah nah face once Mark was far enough from her. But the dude with the vape was rocking that sweet a$$ huge hat tho!

You know, against those truggies you could tell that it's struggling a bit, but it would have cleaned up in a field of conventional monster trucks. Too bad the MT class died off a long time ago.
I feel like that rear brace being broken really took a lot away from body rigidity, I'd love to see the stock plastic replaced or the upgraded aluminum. I noticed a tremendous change in recovery when jumping when I put in the aluminum piece. Also, I removed a ton of unloaded suspension travel from my car by adding suspension travel straps in the front and rear. The car responds SO well after a big jump and recovery is way better. Granted, I've NEVER raced the E-Revo, and so none of what I just talked about could be translated to actual improvement in race behavior. From a weight perspective, I know the E-REVO is heavy and I wouldn't call the car nimble. How do the E-Buggy cars compare? Are they comparable to size/weight? I feel like the major disadvantage the e-revo has is just how much weight it needs to carry around.
@@V8chump sorry, just saw your post. Do all the Tekno models have this issue?

Question, Do you run Mip bypass or just stoke pistons?
Question? Why would you need to change a bearing every 3-4 races??
Dirt gets inside and grinds up the whole thing. It would really suck to have a race end early because of a bearing disintegrating.
