Exactly? He wrote numerous hits for Genesis, numerous top ten hits as a solo artist, plays the drums , sings. Certainly more successful and talented that most musical artists.
Phil is a awesome dude! He really seems like a nice guy to talk with. I adore him so much, he has such a rare voice. Easy to pick his voice in a group of singers. I hate that he retired, but i dont blame him at all. I know he to would love to have a retirement like normal people do, the world got a quieter without him gracing us with his shows.. Dam i miss Phil Collins! So Videos here i come.......i hope you got the recording of him singing on Conan's show........i'm looking for it!
I am watching this interview cause I love the man's geniality , his songs his drums his voice What else ??? I watch him and I listen to the things he shares with all of us He's very spontaneous Very straight forward And a kind guy I'm other words Tu es superbe mon cher Phil !!!
9:03 Conan: Well the new disc is called "Dance Into The-- Phil: Ah To Hell With It Conan: Oh pffffffffft Never Had Anyone say that. Alright To Hell With It!!! Lol. Phil Collins is an Awesome Musician. :)
That's why Phil called his last tour "The First Final Farewell Tour". I think he is retired for good though. He can't drum anymore due to a spine injury.
Phil collins while going over to the MTV Unplugged gig in Lakeland Florida got caught up in the traffic of an accident on I-4 in Plant City Florida got out of his car walked over to me and asked me for directions of another way to get to Lakeland Florida I, on the other hand freaked out standing there looking at Phil Collins asking me for directions gave him the wrong directions ... Don't believe me? Ask Phil, he'll tell Ya....
Yeah I was too flipped out over the fact that here was Phil Collins standing there talking to me on the side of the road I was like man what are you doing here you're not supposed to be here I got all flustered
Being that there was an accident up on the highway the driver didn't know another way around and like I said that's one Phil got out of the car totally surprised me and tap me on the shoulder
Worst career mistake Phil ever made was leaving Genesis in 96. He should have saved Dance Into The Light for the Big Band project. Genesis should have released the Hits record in the fall of 96 and then a stadium tour in 97. It would have been huge. Somewhere in the 2000s Phil gave an interview where he said Genesis never quite reached the heights of U2. Well, they would have had he not left. He finally came back in 2007 and they will tour again in 2021 but what about all those wasted years? He lost so much money by staying dormant so long.
i dont think genesis would had been as big as u2 in 97 with a 40 year old phil past his prime, thats highly unlikely. u2 was huge in the 80s and then they became disliked by the time the 2000s hit so now u2 has a reputation of being mediocre. genesis could had suffered the same fate. phil was probably smart to have left when he did
Not so much this interview, i was generalizing. But he did show his colors briefly a few times. Its not always what someone says, but how and why they say what they say.
He is so adorable.
I know! He is so much older than me but even I find him incredibly adorable and attractive
@@SummeRain783Fame is such an aphrodisiac for some people.
What an awesome interview always been a big fan of Phil Collins not only a great artist but a wholesome, down to earth kind of guy.
@Wuhan Virus why do you have to be negative you don't have to be here you know.
Phil Collins is amazingly talented gah!
You mean gash, right?
Exactly? He wrote numerous hits for Genesis, numerous top ten hits as a solo artist, plays the drums , sings. Certainly more successful and talented that most musical artists.
Why am I watching Phil Collins interviews?
Dave Mustaine cause he's a legend
Cause he could do the standup just like that 👍
Because you are an undercover geezer.
Because you're awesome!!!
Because you love him
Phil Collins is a legend and also a very nice guy now that I first watched him in an interview
Phil at his cheeky best.
He is so awesome
I absolutely love this man!!!! He is all, that is perfect and good☺️.

My first Phil Collins interview and he reminds me of Robin Williams.
He's hilarious!
So much fun! Love Phil! :D
Thanks for making me smile during this.
I am watching this interview cause I love the man's geniality , his songs his drums his voice
What else ???
I watch him and I listen to the things he shares with all of us
He's very spontaneous
Very straight forward
And a kind guy

Tu es superbe mon cher Phil !!!
Phil and Max...two of my absolute favorite drummers!
He is very robin williams fast mind joker. Great lovely guy
so cute
Phil Collins: even tho you’re not dead yet, but we miss you so much 😭😭
I love Phil Collins... need I say more?
Yes, you need to.
i guess u could
Who doesn’t
No... you could say ALOT more!
You shoulda said "That's All!"
I actually remember seeing this live over a decade ago. How time flies.
the pop/rock legend

Conan: Well the new disc is called "Dance Into The--
Phil: Ah To Hell With It
Conan: Oh pffffffffft Never Had Anyone say that. Alright To Hell With It!!!
Lol. Phil Collins is an Awesome Musician. :)
What a great guy Phil is .. awesome! Conan is cool as well. Terrific interview!!
grounded intelligent man...
Nice fellow, Phil Collins.
Love That Man
Go Phil!! I loved watching the Pain Master when I was a small, suple child! Long live the Ow Man!
Thank you so much
for Lily !!!!
It just struck me at 8:45 in the video... Phil Collins is like a toned down version of Robin Williams...
they were both in the movie Hook
I noticed it withing 10 seconds 😂
He reminds me of robin Williams
I think they were friends too, right?
I said that a few weeks ago in another you tube comment section.
He does remind me of robin williams and you he inducted genesis in the rock roll hall of fame. Robin it was his favorite band.
Shoe throwing before its time apparently
That's why Phil called his last tour "The First Final Farewell Tour". I think he is retired for good though. He can't drum anymore due to a spine injury.
Well, he did another one, which surprised me. Now, Genesis, well, maybe in 2021.
I have 7 different versions of Sussudio on my iTunes.
Come at me, Collins-haters.
6 years on and no haters, bro. I think people have finally realised that Phil is cool!
@@4ctmam just saw Phil two weeks ago. Loved it.
He has haters? Are they flat earthers too?
Gooooldberg
Lol phil was like I was the singer wayyyyy before

That's a terrific story. I would kill to have been you during that moment.
izzynutz2000 Ha. I live in Lakeland.
Yeah I was too flipped out over the fact that here was Phil Collins standing there talking to me on the side of the road I was like man what are you doing here you're not supposed to be here I got all flustered
Oh no it's a running joke now so it will never ask for directions in Florida again hahaha I have talked to him since then Jesus that was 15 years ago
Being that there was an accident up on the highway the driver didn't know another way around and like I said that's one Phil got out of the car totally surprised me and tap me on the shoulder
A couple of geniuses speaking ..... and Conan in the middle.
He's my favourite band
I love when he "shakes his ass" in the seat, and even more when he's doing the rapid finger snapping. Haha, what an interview.
Lol
The master
1986? Wow was Conan off, by a DECADE!
Yep. He just wanted to get to the underwear.
2021 anyone???
Conan... just ten years off.
Phill Collins has been the same age for sixty years
ROn Goldman
Not now. He looks like a corpse at death's door. Says he can't even drum anymore.
Love you man
Handsome shorty. ☺️
Phil Collins as a solo artist is up there with McCartney
I❤️P. Collins
Phil Collins is hilarious 2:48, what I do with my shoe man...
Impersonating a typical girl Genesis fan with a cigarette, heehee. They didn't sound likecthat in England🤪
Well phil didn't get ripped off by managers..but his woman took him to cleaners...
I never realized until now he actually is very interesting and attractive.
Was this like in 1995 ? Also, Phil should've described the Italian aspect of Switzerland. He left that part out.
i really wish people would start putting original air dates in the description.
+Michael Richey Dance Into The Light came out October 22, 1996. I would imagine about a couple of weeks before that.
Yes around then. He alluded to the fact, he had already left Genesis anyway.
He's funny at 8:38
"Shimmering silver head of wisdom looking at me...!"
Sums up his life completely. People lying to him to get some $$$. He’ll never learn. 😂
never realised he lived an hour away from me haha... should stalk :/
We should talk
Did you find him yet?
Wow, Conan is so young here
Worst career mistake Phil ever made was leaving Genesis in 96. He should have saved Dance Into The Light for the Big Band project. Genesis should have released the Hits record in the fall of 96 and then a stadium tour in 97. It would have been huge.

What did he do when he was "dormant"?
Sit on his millions of dollars and do tons of soundtracks.
It's not all about money ...$350 million is plenty.
i dont think genesis would had been as big as u2 in 97 with a 40 year old phil past his prime, thats highly unlikely. u2 was huge in the 80s and then they became disliked by the time the 2000s hit so now u2 has a reputation of being mediocre. genesis could had suffered the same fate. phil was probably smart to have left when he did
He made his most famous songs during solo, so not sure what you’re talking about.
November 1, 1996
Thanks!
there's always been a robin williams in him
we r dancing NOW, many yrs later home-boy
I actor too... I Saw his movie'...
Phil!!!
Trippysoundz - what is the date of this interview? I'm thinking 1996ish?
"Can't you see this is a land of confusion?"❤
When was this '86, when you played to large audiences? C'mon Conan do your homework first
From October 1996
"his newest disc" Haha, goddamn this shit is old!
Phil has got that Bruce Willis-type squint
Legend. Lol
The Michael Jordan of music...
this is exactly what I was asking myself..
I agree!! :D
Me too!
When was this interview.. I wanna say it was around 1996 I could be close
I'm not sure, but I think he's from the south of Greater London.
He's from Chiswick.
What were some of his other famous songs
Give me one example of how he was arrogant in that interview.
Good
He's from fucking North London.
hounslow middlesex
West London baby
what year is this?
i think they brought Steve jobs instead of Phil Collins
What?
This might sound stupid but what do you mean by that?
@@ab932 it means Phil looks like Steve Jobs in this
That is seriously what I was just thinking.
It was aired in november 1996
Not so much this interview, i was generalizing. But he did show his colors briefly a few times. Its not always what someone says, but how and why they say what they say.
What song was that again at the start of the interview? I can't remember...
no i mean when he walks in
ooooh yea thanks bro! how the hell could i forget that XD
so what is it
sussudio
walter thank you
I never saw the explanation?
8:39 is what you came for.
I agree. "the hell with it" it was phils worst solo album
If you do not have something nice to say about something then shut up and if you don’t like Phil Collins why are you on this blog.
@@ab932 I do like Phil Collins.
Well will say I am sorry I mis understood you Dale chawkins
That was a weird story to tell on a talk show. Especially as the vibe was "don't bother helping anyone now"
It is just me or is he alot funnier than he looks
First of all he's got huge charisma.
Phil Collins looks like he’s about to unveil the latest iPhone.
Dommage que Phil ne nous répond jamais....
Haha!!
not my favorite album from his body of work but a great interview.
Looks healthy here. It’s all downhill for men near their 60s.
He's the man indeed, but he is far from underrated.
Jesus, Conan has a fuckin grating voice
Based on your questions, Conan, you knew shit about Genesis, didn't you? Hahaha.
Leave conan alone if he didn't know who genesis was it does not mean he is dumb. Give conan a break he was trying at least
@@amandabooth7636 TinFiddler never said anything about Conan being dumb. You're the one bringing that idea up.
8:37 😂
Bruh conan sounds the same now as he did back then
Stop cutting him off, Conan 🤦
