Not at all, I'm 31, and I think they made amazing music.... they had a image, you were gay in middle school for me if you liked them, just like backstreet boys, which I loved, later on I mac'd it with this shit though, married my smoking hot wife, and she LOVES when I sing Hanson, Backstreet boys, etc.... not NYnsc though thats gay lmfao.
lol you know i feel you on this one, I was around 14 when this came out and had the biggest crush on taylor back then. They have changed over the years but still sound the same for the most part which i'm glad they still make music. If you haven't seen it yet or you do watch the show a little spoiler for you is that they were on the masked singer as the nesting dolls :-)
How could on earth these teenagers write this in-depth piece of art... It touches the deepest part of our souls, and it's a mystery that how these little kids could understand those feelings at their age and express them in this single song. It's such a masterpiece.
I remember listening to this song when i was like 10. I didnt understand it like i do today. I really needed this song today, its like they knew i would need this.
Their snowed in Christmas album has a song called Christmas Time that was written by Isaac, the youngest, IN GRADE SCHOOL. The lyrics to that are so simple yet so deep and touching. The whole album is amazing
I was 13 in 1997. I felt that the world was just not the place for people like me, the forgotten, the outcasts, the different. Here we are, 39 y/o. I have no bullies anymore and I can fight my own battles, but there are others still out there alone, needing support. If you're reading this, I'm with you, friend.
Such a great underrated song of the 90s..My favorite Hanson song!! I didnt like them until this song came out!! I'm 49 black grown man & still love this song & wish I could go back to the late 90s!! I miss this MTV!!❤
their career exploded about 25 years ago, what the f are you expecting after that time? its logical that people won't be talking as much about them as they did back then. you think it's easy staying on top? they've had huge success, what else could they do? maybe you should rethink your expectations
Listening to this at the age of 36 now this song just hits so different especially during these weird times, these boys were writing songs that were just so deep and wise beyond there years, it’s sad they got written off as just another boy band, they are incredible!
"when you live in a cookie cutter world being different is a sin". "When you live in a cookie cutter world if you're different you can't win". That... This song. They deserved way more for this song.
Yup, spent many a night in my teen years laying in my bed, staring at my ceiling as my mini boom box played this song off of my copy of the Middle of Nowhere CD. Sometimes I cried, but mostly I just spaced out trying to forget the bullies at school. Teenage girls can be savage.
I was a teenager when this song came out... I'm here now, not a teenager anymore... And I still feel the same love for this song, and it means the same now... Weird.
I was 30 when their Middle Of Nowhere album was released in May of 1997. Even though I had pretty much stopped listening to popular music by then, I still liked Hanson. I thought it was classy and fun. And meaningful.
I was over 49 years old when this CD came out. Bought it. Played it to pieces. LOVED this particular song. It amazed me how these young kids could get such depth in their songs. Now, all these years later...I'm still amazed and still a fan.
bless you sir, im a kid from 86, blessed with the 90's music, felt weird at that time for this song but it was their instruments that got me about the world's matter.
I'm now 34 years old. This song, yearbook, and come to you were songs I listened to absolutely constantly. I was 8 years old in 1997. Hard to believe this much of life has already gone by
In 1997 all the extras in the video were considered “weird”….In 2020’s they are considered “normal”, the “weird” ones are the ones who were “normal” in 1997.
My teenage years couldn't be better described by other lyrics. The insecutity, the feeling of not belonging/fitting and the constant search for something to hold onto. I'm 35 today and after digging very deep, I've found comfort inside my own skin. "Weird" is just a rare form of normal after all.
Este rolon... Me hace regresar a mi adolescencia, cuando la música tenía sentido, cuando significaba! Gracias por tanto Hanson, he seguido su trayectoria, voces de verdad!
First album I ever owned was 'Middle of Nowhere'. I've gone in a different direction musically, but you can't deny the the talent they had at such a young age. I love how this song takes me back to 7th grade, even if for just a few minutes.

Isn't it hard? Standing in the rain. You're on the verge of going crazy and your heart's in pain No one can hear but you're screaming so loud You feel like you're all alone in a faceless crowd, Isn't it strange how we all get a little bit weird sometimes. Sitting on the side. Waiting for a sign. Hoping that my luck will change. Reaching for a hand that can understand, someone who feels the same. When you live in a cookie cutter world being different is a sin So you don't stand out. But you don't fit in.
I love this song so much. I still remember the days when I would listen to it loudly while taking a bath and sing along. Those moments will never come back-memories of my childhood as a middle school boy. ❤😘
I got my Middle Of Nowhere as a gift for my 7th aniversary. This music sounded so soothing, so magical to me that i thought the lyrics were about love. Just a few years later, when i started learning English, i fell deeper in love for it: it was about feeling totaly alone, strange among so many people, exactly how i felt for the next years at school. Thank you, Isaac, Taylor and my sweet little Zac for being the happiest, dearest part of my childhood. You will always be in heart, for the rest of my life. Love you.
One of the Deepest, most beautiful songs I've EVER heard. Bought Middle of nowhere as a kid in 1997, they are SO UNDERRATED for how talented and REAL their lyrics were, they were KIDS and Wrote AND played EVERYTHING!! Their words were and are So real and deep. and still are underrated. I love them so much ,over 20 years💖💖💖🖤🖤🖤💙💙💙
I used to lay in my bed and cry my eyes out to this song when I was 16 and 17, and I wasn't even a 90's teen. I was 17 three years ago. That's the power of Hanson.
MandStephany I was much older when I first heard them. Still makes me cry. I'm glad actual music touches people than the shit we have now. I'm sorry my generation failed you.
I met these gentlemen back in 2000 at legal seafood in Boston when I was a bus runner!!! I was a fan then and I'm still a fan until this day because they were cool people!
A minha irmã deu esse cd de presente pro meu pai. Meu pai quis esse cd de presente justamente por causa dessa música. Essa música é uma das melhores músicas de todos os tempos.
"isn't it hard standing in the rain, yeah you're on the verge of going crazy and your heart's in pain., No one can hear, but you're screaming so loud, it's like you're all alone, in a faceless crowd." One of the most powerfully true and expressive lyrics I have EVER heard and identified with in my life... I don't think that there has ever been anyone who has ever lived on earth that has not identified with them at one point or another in their lives. An exceptionally beautiful and highly underrated song ever written.
Heres me at 13 crying and listening to Hanson to cope. Wishing i was born in those old times because kids seem alot happier then now :(. This new generation failed me
great 90's song i think this is hanson's best song. so strong and hard hitting. powerful too. for a bunch of kids they was damm amazing. great music video too.
I love Hanson. The whole middle of nowhere album was my favorite album. Weird was one of my favorite songs, along with I will come to you. Now you want tears, That's the song that will have you really in your feelings. Thanks for making the 90's so musically awesome @Hanson brothers.
I was 13 when they came out, I still love Hanson. I got bullied for liking them but they helped me through hard times, I was weird(still am) and didn’t fit in and Hanson was there for me. I was hanging out with them the other day. Middle of nowhere wasn’t my first cd but definitely my best. Played the album to death and still do. I’m 40 now and this song hits different but takes me back to the angst of my teens. It’s like a Time Machine. This came out when my grandma was dying and a lot of other stuff. Despite the stuff I was going through I would love to go back to the 90’s. Hanson got me through life and I thank them for that. They’re so underrated and we’re written off over “boy bands” yet they play their own instruments and write their own songs. They’re so much more than just a “boy band” The jonas brothers tried to copy them and were more popular but Hanson are better. They can top almost any artist barring a few greats. Still my favourite band ❤
Esta es una de esas canciones que te llegan al alma,y te hacen brotar una lágrima. Que bueno que viví esa.epoca tan linda ,saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷
Hanson will always be a part of my life! Love love love this song! I’m now 34 and married and living in the US and still lovin their songs. I hope to see them someday😁
Isn't it weird? Isn't it strange? Even though we're just two strangers on this runaway train We're both trying to find a place in the sun We've lived in the shadows, but doesn't everyone? Isn't it strange how we all feel a little bit weird sometimes? Weird, oh ho Isn't it hard Standing in the rain? You're on the verge of going crazy and your heart's in pain No one can hear, but you're screaming so loud You feel like you're all alone in a faceless crowd Isn't it strange how we all get a little bit weird sometimes? Sitting on the side Waiting for a sign Hoping that my luck will change Reaching for a hand that can understand someone who feels the same When you live in a cookie-cutter world, being different is a sin So you don't stand out But you don't fit in…
38yo, divorced, 2 kids, no job, Dad has passed, Big Bro has passed, a cousin lost to s*icide and I havent heard this song in 20+ years. The tears wouldn't stop while I was watching this. Life is short. Really short. Don't rush to be grown up kids.😢🥲
Yes I too still listen to everything since I heard the giants or originals as far back from 1965 and I once in a few all this music sure does make me cry! I’m 69!
Thanks God, that i found MY BAND one day: it were HANSON!@ The MOST beautiful, romantic, true, talented group@ It was AMAZING time: the middle off the 90''s. Remember, i was very happy: bought Hanson''s cassettes, t-shirts, posters... Music was more true and deep than today's:( Listening these GUYS till nowdays and never will stop@
Wow listening to this really takes me back. I would've been 13 when this came out. I remember liking this more than Mmmbop at the time. I didn't remember how amazing this video is. The underwater sequence is impressive. So good to take a walk down memory lane.
The Hanson brothers we’re such an “Iconic” group during this special time! There will never be a band of brothers like them! Pop Culture Icons way ahead of their time! This video is nothing short of brilliant! Taylor, Zac & Issac all blessings from God… even the “Black Artist “ can’t touch them! I wish we had a @Time Machine “ Simple days and simpler times! ❤
I was a huge Backstreet Boys fan back in these days. I liked like 3 Hansen songs. I listen to these songs now that I'm an adult and realize the depth to them that I didn't understand as a kid. Not to mention these boys voices were amazing for their ages! Pretty powerful!
I didn't have a CD player yet, so I had this album on cassette tape... I got it for MmmBop but when I heard this song for the first time, I was sobbing hysterically because this was exactly how I felt in Middle School (11-13 yrs old). I had never heard a song that put so perfectly into words how I felt. I was constantly teased and made to feel like a loser outcast by my classmates. I was severely depressed and suffered from suicidal ideation... I never actually tried anything, but would often hope and pray to just go to sleep and never wake up because I thought that would be better than facing another day at school... I practically wore out the cassette from rewinding and replaying this song over and over again.
Casette tape? CASETTE TAPE? You're not even supposed to have a CD player at this point its supposed to be an MP3 player. What were you doing with a casette tape? Was it next to the 8 track player or your turn table?
Well ducky, I'm glad you didn't strangle your cat with the cassette tape reel.. Could've been whiskas away from a zero calorie flap jack treacle. You are a. Culinary delight, to a man like Philip scrofulous Schofield..big up dude..x
NOTHING and I mean absolutely NOOOOTHING gets me as close to the feeling of being young again as the sound of this Hanson album playing. I am so grateful for that too.
Tinha 14 anos quando lançou essa linda canção. Cursava o 2 ano do médio. Hoje depois de tantos anos ela ainda permanece forte em minhas memórias; o coração aperta quando a ouço. 😢😢😢
Taking a trip down memory lane in these scary and uncertain times. This song got me through bullying in high school.. I felt like it spoke to me and reminded me that someone would hear me eventually and I would find my tribe and my people eventually. Which i did.
Isn’t it weird how fast time flies! I’ll be 40 next month yet I can vividly recall listening to this song as a 14 year old boy. I remember all the physical and emotional changes that came with puberty, this song is so nostalgic. Through the innocence, the happiness, the sadness of my adolescent days I gained a great appreciation for music and I’ve never let go of it.
i would be so embarrassed to share the fact this song has so many memories and the middle of know are cd is probably one of the best cds i owned. At 17 now 33 i am more sasha and john digweed but when i listen to this i can still hear why i liked it and it meant so much.
I'm almost 52 and I've listened to this I've listened to them since the 90s you're the type of genre that has lots of different people can click to Precious inside trying to have the same image in my life as a kid I felt the same way many can relate to it so it doesn't matter if you are a teen now, or if you were a teen then you can relate to it.
hanson was one of the very very few bands that i was obsessed with when i was little. think of age 5 to 15. i'm 28 now and here i am, still not ashamed of how much i love these guys and their music. always felt they were very underrated but they had a big fan in me. still do.
I’m sorry I didn’t love you enough in 97, I’m sorry people looked at you as a cheap boysband less interesting than bsb... I’m sorry they influenced me. I’m sorry you we’re and still are underrated. You are talent, passion and you aged so well all of you without losing it. God bless you all and your families. I will pay you tribute for what it’s worth from now on. Don’t stop making music
Lol I find it fascinating when people are dying to tell the internet they lack any personality and charisma. Less interesting than BSB? Who sane of mind person would even think that? Why are people dying to tell everyone they are dumb?
2020, I’m here again... singing in the middle of a global crisis... Hoping that our luck will change, Reaching for a hand that can understand. Someone who feels the same. If you’re reading this and feeling this (in a moment like this) then we are not alone, we feel the same. Hugs to everyone. I really hope we all can get through this coronavirus crisis.
The world is the most beautiful places to live. But sad to say why a lots people is so weird.... Why we don't love and accept each other we all equal in this world.. Why we can love and accept everyone in this world so that it will be peace and happy🙏❤️ for all of us🙏❤️
Isn’t it “weird” that I’m in my 40s and I still listen to Hanson.
It's alright. The song is timeless.
some songs and music artists never get old
Nope. Music doesn’t have a time.
Ur not alone
Not at all, I'm 31, and I think they made amazing music.... they had a image, you were gay in middle school for me if you liked them, just like backstreet boys, which I loved, later on I mac'd it with this shit though, married my smoking hot wife, and she LOVES when I sing Hanson, Backstreet boys, etc.... not NYnsc though thats gay lmfao.
this song is definition of underrated masterpiece
Yes!
They really did so some amazing sings
Yesss it’s amazing that now at 30 (been a fan since I was 7) I relate even more to the message of the song. Damn, they’re amazing
@@kelsey965 Yes they sure are!
Absolutely
The 12 year-old me is smiling while watching this.
Four minutes of 1997 is worth a million bucks.
Billion. At least :-)
lol you know i feel you on this one, I was around 14 when this came out and had the biggest crush on taylor back then. They have changed over the years but still sound the same for the most part which i'm glad they still make music. If you haven't seen it yet or you do watch the show a little spoiler for you is that they were on the masked singer as the nesting dolls :-)
The best year to be alive in human history.
@@MelanieJustice82 was that the current season? Cus I haven't caught much of it if not I missed the nesting dolls.
@@bry4095 yea this was one this last season they were on it
One of the most underrated pop songs of all-time...
Yes
With tears to my eyes, they had so much more in there discography other than mmmbop, and people have forgotten that
100%
that is a great song it's not underrated 😠
absolutely

Hanson are true musical geniuses.
I was just telling a buddy I work with there is no way these kids wrote this song
Listen to "With You In Your Dreams" another amazing Hanson song. I'm having it played at my funeral!

Hey we're the same age! 🍻 So relatable
I was born in 1993.
I was younger than you.
I was 13 in 2007.
❤❤❤❤❤
A poet wrote this is incredible
This song, is so much older in vibes than the ages they were when they wrote it.
+Erica Beumel Its Hanson"s song, like all that had written!!!
+Erica Beumel absolutely mature and deep. i was 16 and could fully adapt to the lyrics, still has that feeling"weird" when listening to this song
That mature edge was the masterful work of super songwriter Desmond Child, who cowrote this with the brothers.
They are old souls. Giving credit of their sound to the classic artist like Billy Joel!
Yes 🇧🇷
No mobile phones, no social media, no drama...just living life and enjoying the little things....i miss the 90s so much
Me too. I wish i could go back to those days. Life has been hard, wish i could just go back to those days and listen to this on my boombox in my room.
Man, did I feel that! God sometimes I wish there was a time machine just to relive one day in the 90s. Mmm mm. 😌
Just waiting this song to play in MTV.. no RUclips for us to play songs we want anytime 😂😅😢😢

I agree... they sure are!!!
So true! Here I am in 2023 rockin' and reminiscin' on how awesome they were when I was younger and still now. Very talented. Great stuff. 💕👏🏼

You can. Hanson are still making incredible music and have a Christmas album coming out this year.
Oh man, I coming from the future 2022 and the music is worst now.

Hanson gets me right in the feels
Everytime.
A J same. 🐠🐟
"isn't it hard standing in the rain,
yeah you're on the verge of going crazy and your heart's in pain.,
No one can hear, but you're screaming so loud,
it's like you're all alone, in a faceless crowd."
One of the most powerfully true and expressive lyrics I have EVER heard and identified with in my life... I don't think that there has ever been anyone who has ever lived on earth that has not identified with them at one point or another in their lives. An exceptionally beautiful and highly underrated song ever written.
The words in this song is so true. Its almost unbelievable that some then young boys could come up with this strong lyrics.
this song has more beatles elements than a lot of pop. gotta give these guys respect
Heres me at 13 crying and listening to Hanson to cope. Wishing i was born in those old times because kids seem alot happier then now :(. This new generation failed me
Same here
great 90's song i think this is hanson's best song. so strong and hard hitting. powerful too. for a bunch of kids they was damm amazing. great music video too.
I love Hanson. The whole middle of nowhere album was my favorite album. Weird was one of my favorite songs, along with I will come to you. Now you want tears, That's the song that will have you really in your feelings. Thanks for making the 90's so musically awesome @Hanson brothers.
I love Lucy and Madeline 💖
I got bullied in middle school (around the time Hanson burst in the scene) for being a fan but you know what? I still love them.
I'm in my 60s and I still listen to this ..❤ it
AMAAAAZING song. These guys are the real deal. So talented.
talented with a heart, thats why they can create songs that is one of a kind.
So true! Aside from being so talented, they are so real & down to earth guys. That's why I'm supporting & loving them since 1997! 💖🇵🇭
This song should have a billion viewers iykyk still here since day 1
Esta es una de esas canciones que te llegan al alma,y te hacen brotar una lágrima. Que bueno que viví esa.epoca tan linda ,saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷
I still feel this way just as I did as a kid now that I'm almost 30.. timeless song for my generation!💝
i love Hanson for makimg this song!!!!!!!! Im living It !!!
What a pretty and most fascinating woman ,hello my darling ?
That lovely break in his voice is so pleasing to listen to
What a pretty breathtaking woman, hello my Beauty ?
Such a great song-all about tolerance-so ahead of it's time.
I Love so Much and miss this song
Hanson will always be a part of my life! Love love love this song! I’m now 34 and married and living in the US and still lovin their songs. I hope to see them someday😁
They’re touring rn so check them out
Isn't it weird?
Isn't it strange?
Even though we're just two strangers on this runaway train
We're both trying to find a place in the sun
We've lived in the shadows, but doesn't everyone?
Isn't it strange how we all feel a little bit weird sometimes?
Weird, oh ho
Isn't it hard
Standing in the rain?
You're on the verge of going crazy and your heart's in pain
No one can hear, but you're screaming so loud
You feel like you're all alone in a faceless crowd
Isn't it strange how we all get a little bit weird sometimes?
Sitting on the side
Waiting for a sign
Hoping that my luck will change
Reaching for a hand that can understand someone who feels the same
When you live in a cookie-cutter world, being different is a sin
So you don't stand out
But you don't fit in…
A MASTERPIECE! BRILLIANT SONGWRITING HERE!
Way much better than the music we have today. Been a fan of them forever..
Having a beer on you, mate.
Sorrow for you mate good luck
Jesus had a cure for you n your family bro. Find a church close to you, and Jesus bring a new life for you. Stay safe my friend.
Eu também viajei nessa música, ouvia muito,e hj também lembro das pessoas que partiram
I am 52 now and still love this song. I must be their oldest fan that time this song came out. Weird.
Yes I too still listen to everything since I heard the giants or originals as far back from 1965 and I once in a few all this music sure does make me cry! I’m 69!
Its such a powerful song it makes you think about stuff and pulls at them heart strings
So many good memories.. I love the 90's, today's music just isn't the same. I was such a huge Hanson fan :)
Man growing up in New York City in 90s was amazing. My family struggled a lot but we made it.
I wish we had a @Time Machine “
Simple days and simpler times!
Como não se apaixonar novamente? Me sinto cm 14anos e ainda sonhando cm esses 3 q fizeram parte da minha adolescência. Ainda m emociono cm eles 😍😍😍😍
Vdd
E eu
Cursava o 2 ano do médio.
37 still my favorite song
This song hits right in the feels. Incredibly talented, these boys.
Taking a trip down memory lane in these scary and uncertain times. This song got me through bullying in high school.. I felt like it spoke to me and reminded me that someone would hear me eventually and I would find my tribe and my people eventually. Which i did.
Wonderful to hear, my friend!
At 17 now 33 i am more sasha and john digweed but when i listen to this i can still hear why i liked it and it meant so much.
wow, thats awesomei know how you feel.
This song is one of their best, forgot how much I loved them.
2022 - still love this song. I used to wait for this music video in MTV back in high school.
What a pretty and wonderful girl ,hello my darling ?
hanson was one of the very very few bands that i was obsessed with when i was little. think of age 5 to 15. i'm 28 now and here i am, still not ashamed of how much i love these guys and their music. always felt they were very underrated but they had a big fan in me. still do.
This just popped in my head after all this time randomly today.
I've been listening to Hanson ever since the 90s and still listenibg to them in 2016 and forever
His infernal majesty is me now
Lol I find it fascinating when people are dying to tell the internet they lack any personality and charisma. Less interesting than BSB? Who sane of mind person would even think that? Why are people dying to tell everyone they are dumb?
Their song Yearbook is also a masterpiece. It made me feel like I want to tear my heart out.
2020, I’m here again... singing in the middle of a global crisis...
Hoping that our luck will change,
Reaching for a hand that can understand. Someone who feels the same.
If you’re reading this and feeling this (in a moment like this) then we are not alone, we feel the same.
Hugs to everyone. I really hope we all can get through this coronavirus crisis.
Same! What a perfect anthem for this time!
You're being played.
Same situation, and it's already April 2021... So weird. 😔
20 years later and I finally understand this song. My 11 year old self never fully understood
YES! same here!! i was also 11 when this came out
The world is the most beautiful places to live. But sad to say why a lots people is so weird.... Why we don't love and accept each other we all equal in this world.. Why we can love and accept everyone in this world so that it will be peace and happy🙏❤️ for all of us🙏❤️
Water scene is so cool!
