My hat comes off for these talented boys. The chord progressions, lyrical content, and charm is the stuff of legends. This is about as good as pop music can get. Love.

They were our neighbors in Tulsa. I used to drive my pre-teen girls by their house so they could get a glimpse of them playing basketball in their yard. My friend called me to say the boys were scheduled for paintball and invited my girls to play! It was one of the most beautiful memories I have of being a mom! The girls were so excited and happy and talked about it for years…
Younger than N'Sync and the Backstreet Boys but had more talent than all of them combined. They didn't dance around on stage, gyrating and singing dirty songs to little girls. They played their instruments and sang with passion. These guys have class.

It seems unclear to me that it's about Jesus, as it is written in the first person. Also, when the singer says "even if we can't be together, we'll be friends now and forever", I would say it's not about Jesus.
I don't know what they were thinking when they wrote it. All three of them are Christians, but Hanson isn't a "Christian band". Of course it has to influence them. I'm a Christian and I never thought about it until about a month ago, that I could interpret it as a "Christian song". Especially the part about not being together. Because Jesus left physically but promised to sent His Spirit(The Holy Spirit). It says that "He will come to comfort you". I don't know if Hanson originally meant it that way, but that the things about music, it can often mean different things to different people.
it's only looking back a bit (and also considering the music that's available today), that I can confidently say these guys were/are great. good vocalists and instrumentalists, esp for such a young age when they started. solid talent.

It seems unclear to me that it's about Jesus, as it is written in the first person. Also, when the singer says "even if we can't be together, we'll be friends now and forever", I would say it's not about Jesus.
I don't know what they were thinking when they wrote it. All three of them are Christians, but Hanson isn't a "Christian band". Of course it has to influence them. I'm a Christian and I never thought about it until about a month ago, that I could interpret it as a "Christian song". Especially the part about not being together. Because Jesus left physically but promised to sent His Spirit(The Holy Spirit). It says that "He will come to comfort you". I don't know if Hanson originally meant it that way, but that the things about music, it can often mean different things to different people.
In 2023 when I am 48 years old, this song still got a place in my heart, bringing me back to the 90´s... oh I miss 90´s so much
