    I dont know kirby smart or his family but i can tell you this, he is the best thing to happen to uga football. He is uga football. There's nobody that has done more and nobody could.
    Read this part really good. Uga football can lose any fan, any media person, or any player and we will be okay.The one and only person we NEED is kirby smart.
    SEC CHAMPS.

    It wasn't the call. It was the fact that our OL sucks balls. They weren't able to open up lanes and they really weren't good blocking either. Our offensive line and receivers have sucked all year long. I've been disappointed in some of our game plans, but honestly it's been the fundamentals of blocking and catching that's plagued us all year long. The players just didn't develop.

    • @NickB1121
      @NickB1121 День назад +1

      Wrong. Bobo calls plays that don't work (runs up the middle), yet plays that DO work (toss sweep), he rarely calls it. Bobo thinks drops and fumbles are flukes and he doesn't rectify it in practice. In 8 games, Georgia scored 7 points or less. Mike Bobo absolutely sucks. There's no killer instinct. When Bobo SHOULD be aggressive, he's conservative. When he SHOULD be conservative, he's aggressive like before the halftime fumble. All the offensive players have regressed under Bobo.

    • @Edmund_Mallory_Hardgrove
      @Edmund_Mallory_Hardgrove День назад +2

      @@NickB1121 Jumping on the "hate Bobo" bandwagon is easy, and I can understand why. But Bobo's play calling is way down on the list of problems our offense had this year.
      Our offensive line (OL) struggled immensely-they didn't block well and failed to open up lanes for a sustained rushing attack. Additionally, we led the FBS in dropped passes. That was a significant issue, especially when your starting QB is primarily a passer.
      These fundamental problems are inexcusable, especially with 4 and 5-star recruits. That's a coaching issue.
      While I can't speak to what happens off the field or in practices, it's clear that something is missing on the field. Some players seemed to regress from last year's level of play, and no one stepped up and improved. I can't think of a single offensive player who showed significant improvement.
      This falls on Kirby, Bobo, and the rest of the coaching staff. The bigger problem this year wasn't the game plan but the overall execution and player development.
      That's on Kirby, Bobo, and rest of the coaching staff, and that was a much bigger problem for us this year than gameplan.

    • @NickB1121
      @NickB1121 День назад

      @Edmund_Mallory_Hardgrove when things are going bad, Bobo defenders will blame players. When things are good, Bobo defenders give credit to Bobo. Which is it? It can't be one thing when times are bad, and another when things are good. Look, Bobo is mentally ill. Calling 20 runs up the middle expecting a different result is insane. Yet successful toss sweeps are rarely used. We didn't have drop issues under Monken. Bobo thinks drops and fumbles are flukes. So he doesn't rectify it in practice. That's just a fact.

    Gunner played great for the situation! Very impressed with that kid. However, he was still inexperienced. Carson would’ve checked out of the run call on the play where ETN fumbled. Everybody saw Notre Dame blitzing on that play except for Gunner. UGA would’ve at least got a FG on that drive, maybe even a TD. That would’ve changed everything. No way they’d be going into 2 minute with 40 seconds left in the 1st half. I’m not saying UGA would’ve won the game with Beck. But there would’ve been some different decisions made with him imo.

    They didn't get dominated at the line of scrimmage? What game were you watching? Both side of the ball, ND was superior in protecting their QB and opening holes. While on the opposite side, the Irish defensive front opened up holes to created pressure on your QB and really smushed any semblance of a running game you all had. In the trenches is where the game was lost for the dawgs, as simple as that.

      @@dawgpost Did the D-Line get any kind of consistent pressure? No. Were they able to make critical stops and get the Georgia offense back on the field? No. The ND play-calling was, quite obviously, very conservative. But on neither side of the line of scrimmage, was UGA a factor at any point. ND asserted their will at the line. Had Georgia been able to do anything up front, it might have been a different outcome. But instead, they got outworked and out-played. You can refuse to call it dominated if you like, but the general consensus among those without a slant, saw it as a dominant performance by the Irish.

As much as I love our DB's man coverage competency, I think the team's "prevent" scheme may be one of the worst in the country. Gave up a quick score before half while in prevent zone against USC, and then proceeded to give up tons of yards in zone the rest of that game. Then also giving up the 2 late scores to Indiana in the last 5 mins of the quarterfinals while in prevent zone. Given that track record, wonder if analytics pointed towards UGA being aggressive there.

    Let’s be honest for a sec…
    We lost 9 WRs to dismissal, the portal, and the NFL from last years squad. You’re replacing 2 top 15 NFL pass catchers as rookies… with some j.a.gs
    You lost 6 OL to the NFL and Portal. That rooms dealt with shuffling and injuries all season.
    RB room has been decimated with injuries. To the point we’ve had to play multiple freshman and a walk on in cash jones because we can’t stay healthy.
    You lost your veteran starting QB that’s really had to put the team on his back all year long.
    Then you stroll into the sugar bowl against a team that’s honestly just more talented than you. During a time where there’s so many distractions going on.
    I almost say that’s the best word to describe this team this year. Distracted. Rara Thomas and Colbie Young get dismissed. The countless driving infractions. A terrorist attack. The impact of NIL and the transfer portal on the roster before the playoffs even start.
    So much has happened. I’m ready to put the season to bed and focus on what’s coming next. I agree things need to change. But idk if firing anyone and then bringing someone with new philosophies in will help right now. Especially right after you just signed such a talented recruiting class.

      ND is better than UGA this year. On paper it doesn’t appear that way. On the field it was abundantly clear.
      Nick Saban got out of coaching because he saw what was coming. The days of being able to stockpile elite NFL talent is gone. If these talented players aren’t ready to play over established vets they’re leaving in 1 year. Tampering is at an all time high and there’s no regulation to stop it.
      Saban won in a bye gone era of CFB. What did he do from 2020-2023? What has he done since NIL came into effect? NIL was passed in 2021… SABAN DIDNT WIN A THING IN THE NIL ERA AND SAW THE WRITING ON THE WALL AND RAN FOR THE HILLS.

    The OT missed the block but Carson likely would have felt the pressure and stepped up into the pocket whereas Gunner not as experienced did not. Gunner will be fine with time and more coaching.

      No, he wouldn't have. Anytime the same thing happens 4 games in a row, it's a trend that shows a lack of awareness and football IQ. Fumbles at the end of halves 4 games in a row.

    Maybe Kirby having his father in the hospital at the time made him lose focus. Idk. I agree with both Matt and Finebum. It was a horrible call given the field position and the pressure that Gunner had experienced up to that point.

    Playing devils advocate here (I am not a Georgia fan) I thought Kirby was trying to steal some points here because the back up quarterback should be really well drilled on the two minute offense. They wanted the three points for psychological reasons but it just didn’t work out. He can’t play left tackle. I thought the opening kick return really killed you guys and that was purely mental. Either way it’s hard to put Gunner in at his first start for a game of that magnitude. I’m a Tennessee fan and at some point during the season you could see that he will be really good one day but asking him to get us to elite status was just unfair. Once you lost your starter the season was over.

    When you have fumbled at the end of halves 3 games in a row, then you do the same for a 4th game, something is missing with your team. This team has little discipline and awareness on and off the field. The program seems to be trending in the wrong direction. Will we look back two or three years from now and question whether Monken and Lanning were the drivers of this program's ascension?

    I believe that in the 2024 season that Georgia played over their heads. Both of the regular season loses were embarrassing. Also the Kentucky and Georgia Tech games were embarrassing. That is 4 out of the 12 they played. The team suffered from a serious talent decrease this season. That said, I think probably Kirby did the best job he could with what he had. We have some serious problems on both sides of the line that need to be addressed. Many judged Georgia on the Texas games. Looking back, I think Texas has a few problems of their own this year. However what has really been most distressing this year was the Tech game.......especially after Tech lost to Vandy. The coaching staff: I think everyone pretty well knows that Coach Bobo is going to catch most of the heat. Is Bobo the best OC that we could have? No.....but still I think he did a pretty good job. That said I do not expect him to be with the team this season though. I think Stockton will be the starter this season. We will see how that goes. I would love to see the Dawgs pick up another elite 5 star QB though. More importantly we need lineman. Kirby needs to start beating the bushes on that

      To travel and play in Lexington to play a team that beat south Carolina was not embarrassing. We won the game, that's what matters. To go 8 ot with ur arch rival who is alot better coached and alot more talented and who beat 3 top 15 teams this year is not embarrassing.. Georgia tech played hard and with alot of heart.. and that was a great win!! u sound foolish

    I'm sorry, I disagree with all of this. Gunner was playing well. I see no issue going 2 min there. Freeling completely whiffed. Then, I don't see how we had a massive miscue on sp teams to start half. You take away two plays, we probably win this game.

    Mike Bobo calls runs up the middle that rarely works, yet toss sweeps that do work, he rarely calls it. Then, despite the running game not working, Bobo will call playaction passes, and the defense doesn't bite on it because the running game isn't working. Mike Bobo is mentally ill. And he's getting worse. Bobo thinks drops and fumbles are flukes. So he doesn't rectify it in practice. Practice MUST be harder than games. Yet games are harder than practice because Bobo is oblivious to the small things

    And Nate gave UGA the momentum but was pulled for loyalty issues for the starter. Bobo has never been able to call a play under duress and Kirby was aggressive. The tight end and receiver group needs the portal or dismissed. Delp stopped his feet and reached on the goal line. That ain’t a player.
