FF9 is one of my favorite games ever. It had the perfect balance of depth and levity, and I think it's the purest expression of Final Fantasy to date. FF7 was a masterpiece, but its setting was very unorthodox for a FF game and it was so damned dark. FF9 felt like NES/SNES games but improved upon with visuals, audio quality, etc. and the characters are just so damned likable.
This is absolutely wonderful. Ff9 is my favorite entry in the vast final fantasy franchise by far. It's the first game I played and it holds many dear memories. Thank you for creating this :)
Re-listening to this FF9 Medley. Your work inspires so much optimism and re-affirmation of the kind of imagination/uplifting feeling I wish to bring to the world and others! Of joy and play and high artistry and storytelling. To create things of beauty and meaning and impact.
OMG, I haven't listened to it yet, but... I can already feel the nostalgia!!! FF9 will always be THE game of my heart!! Thank you so much for doing this Rebecca, I'll send you a detailled note about this as soon as possible! :)
Amazing work!! Took me on such a nostalgic journey. The trip was like the game itself. Started with a bang, then got a bit slow during the middle, but when Protecting My Devotion hit, followed by Rose of May and Daggers theme... that got to me hard! Not taking anything away from your work, just themes like Lindblum, Cid's theme, Tantalus' theme got me bored back the in the days during the game. But towards the end with I had goosebumps. Daguerreo was a great little addition. Also you have a great voice. It took me a second to realize that was not the original Song of Memories. I am so glad I stumbled upon this channel. Will definitely be checking out the other FF medleys. You have got yourself a repeat viewer!
Thank you, Steve! I have only a few FF medleys left now. :) FF5, FF2, FF3 and FF8. I'm probably not going to bother with 11-14, but I might eventually get around to it... Definitely not before I crack open the Chrono can of worms, though, among others.
Of course! I really appreciate your work! Really great to listen to when i bike ^^ I am looking forward to your future projects sounds like a lot of fun
Playing this through for a 3rd time. Final Fantasy 9 is in a three way tie for my favorite game. The other two being Final Fantasy 8 and The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. I really enjoyed your mix as well as your beautiful rendition of Song of Memories. Thank you for posting it.
Great job! My favourite game ever plus my favourite game soundtrack ever. I remember the first time I played it,14 years ago,the intro gave me a strange feel of nostalgia and 10 years later I found out that it's called The Place I Will Return to Some Day! Crazy, huh?
It is beautiful! FF9 OST is my favorite overall, thank you for this impressive work! Good old times, I always feel sad and happy when I hear those songs. I especially like the tantalus theme and thorn and zorn theme you remastered but in a way they all are really great.
Gates SEBASTIEN Thank you so much! I didn't see this comment until 2 months later for some reason. ^_^ The Zorn and Thorn/Tantalus movement is the naughty movement.
Chris Abdalla Thank you so much! It's very nice to hear that you love my work. I poured a lot of my heart and soul into this piece. FF9 (and FF in general) is very very dear to my heart; many of my fondest memories involve playing it with friends, my brother, or just by myself.
If that's really your voice, then, holy crap do you sound amazing. You've done a beautiful job with this rendition of these songs. I'm really glad I stumbled upon this, even if it took me nearly 5 years to do so.
How amazing... I can't even explain... It hits hard! FFIX means so much to me, it's like my childhood in a single word, means happiness, peace, dreams, all the good things... is really really special. IX is a true masterpiece and i don't have a better word to classify it, this game is far from just entertainment, it's a lesson to us, teach us about life, a piece of art, and the music...the music is beyond any words, always touched me in another level, i listen to the music (Uematsu is a blessed soul, genius) since i discovered this treasure. The Place I'll Return to Someday - 02:48, in short, it's the essence of FFIX to me and take me to this world in an instant, emotions flow...Sometimes i feel like i can't barely explain the feelings and the importance of this song and this soundtrack to me! It's a piece of me, a piece of my life! All i could say is thks for your great work! I'm always looking for FFIX stuff here, specially the music, and this video, music and pictures, fitted perfectly! I really really love all the art concept images by Yoshitaka Amano and this arrangement, the orchestra...wow! It's perfect! I love to hear new versions of FFIX music like Distant Worlds work, i feel like i'm listening some songs for the first time but in a different way, thk u so much for it!
Thank you very much! It seems like you and I like FF9 around the same amount. Its impact on our lives and personal development cannot be measured! :D I'm glad this gave you more of that feeling.
I can relate to everything you said about the game, for to me it means the same. It's like a part of me, of my childhood, and listening to its soundtracks really takes me back to that time. It's kind of a vital experience whenever I decide to replay it
As I had expected it u_ù it's wonderful. I don't have a fav. among this medley because I love them all in the same way. Thx for making such amazing works! Btw, your voice is so sweet~
I really appreciate your feedback. It helps me in a great way! I have secretly wanted to do some vocal stuff for years, but I was too shy. I've actually been holding off releasing the FF8 medley because there is a vocal section in it, and I've had a crazy flu, and want the singing to be something that doesn't embarrass me! Thanks again. ^^
RebeccaETripp And I thank you for taking the time to reply (few do that.) I am really glad my comment helps you and gives you confidence in yourself and in your work. It's my main goal, my dear ! ah~ now, you've catched my curiosity! I guess it's "eyes on me", no? I wonder how you'll include it in your medley~ :) Oh! btw, I have just noticed your FFVIII medley teaser... You even upload more videos ! You're so fast :O or it's me who is slow to catch up... (or maybe both, ahah)
Perfect! Not played this since I was pretty young and it was always one of my favourites because of just how 'old school' the foundations were. Pretty excited for the Steam release, especially now!
This music is really amazing, you're very talented :D, this soundtrack with the soundtrack of Chrono Trigger/Cross are my favorite music of videogames, I really like it
Sorry if I said this to you already! I'm having a live orchestra perform my Chrono Trigger arrangements very soon! If you can't get to the performance in person but still want to see it, there will be a livestream event! facebook.com/events/174216413297453/?active_tab=about There's a link in case you're curious! I'm trying to spread the word as far as possible! :)
Wonderful...For all the words I know,I cannot express exactly how this make me feel.Feelings gathered dancing alongside my personal thoughts....Pretty lofty Not everybody can't do that in the way you did....
It's good to revisit this fantastic medley having just finished a replay of FF9 :) Always wished there was a way to recruit Beatrix as a permanent party member (without cheating devices!). I got lucky with Ozma's attack patterns, only our dear Steiner survived the bout, his Shock ability winning the day. IX: My first and favourite Fantasy.
Very nice! ^_^ It' my favorite, too. I beat Ozma for the first time 2-3 years ago. In my case, Amarant saved the day, hehe! Anyway, thanks for coming back.
9 is the only PlayStation Final Fantasy main game I've never finished, but I keep meaning to go back to it some day- along with the two-foot-high stack of notebooks full of drabbles and ideas for things that I barely remember now. I hope you don't mind me leaving some comments on a few of my favorites. :) I shouldn't listen to much of any remix of "Over Those Hills", because before you know it, I'm just staring out the window and daydreaming. I used to leave the game on and just listen to this song while doing other things. I think that's a xylophone you mixed in there in the first part of the song, and it really brings out the cheeriness of the music- it makes you think of a journey with your friends, and all the fun that entails. "Jesters of the Moon" is just a quick, snappy little theme that I can't help but enjoy- I mean, let's face it- Zorn and Thorn aren't really much of a threat until the fight with Meltigemini, but they got a pretty good music track. It's good on piano, but the strings really bring it home- it's a fairly light track on the surface, but just like the jesters, there's menace hiding behind the lightness, as can be heard in the second half of the song (and let's face it- Kuja didn't hire them for their jesterly antics...). "Vamo Alla Flamenco"... now there's a tune I don't think I could ever forget. It brings to mind hour-long sessions of the sword-fight minigame at the beginning of the game, simply because it was that awesome, and I doubt I would have dropped half the gil on Chocobo Hot and Cold if not for this music. I love the background notes of the swords clashing together and the crowd reactions- it makes me wish that if we ever get a FF9 remix, that we get a replayable swordfight minigame of some sort. (Hey, we're getting a FF7 remake... I bet we'll get a FF8 and FF9 remake in the future.) "Protecting My Devotion" and "Rose of May" are two of my favorite tracks in the entire series- though I love the track really puts the feeling of the game forward- Steiner and Beatrix back-to-back, taking on those mist worms in the streets is one of my favorite scenes of the game. It's very triumphant- and I like it a lot! It does get kind of confusing trying to figure out just where it transitions to "Rose of May", though- since the two tracks sound much alike. As far as "Rose of May", most of the remixes I've heard are of the slower variety- pretty much basing it off the airship scene on Disc 2 where Beatrix is thinking about her actions in Brahne's name- the invasion of Burmecia, the destruction of Cleyra, not to mention Lindblum... your version sounds cheerier, and it reminds me of the Beatrix in Disc 3, the one that resolves to oversee the reconstruction of Alexandria while Garnet and Steiner are out stopping Kuja. May I ask why you didn't do "Hunter's Chance"? It's a very nice tune that hits the event on the head- and reminds me of the files where I built up Zidane with all the type-killer skills just so he would carve through everything out there- only to realize that the only encounter of the festival that actively matters is whoever lands the final hit on the optional boss- which is just plain mean because I think there's a card that you can only get as a result of Vivi winning the thing...
Rain Feather Thanks again, Rain. ^_^ You really made my morning cheerful! As for Hunter's Chance, I did do a cover of it in my third FF series battle medley! I'll be revisiting it in another project as well. ;) FYI, it's possible to get every card in the game more than once.
It is? You learn something new every day. I usually like to get the money- enough to make sure I get enough equipment and supplies to teach everyone everything. My problem is that I run out of patience and rush ahead and end up just underequipped and underleveled. I'm happy I made your morning! I just recall some advice I got from an English teacher of mine: "If you experience something you like- food, book, music, whatever- give the person who made it some good feedback on it." I loved getting feedback on things I wrote and I figured that well, you make some great music, so the least I could do is give you some good feedback on it. As far as Hunter's Chance, I guess now I have a reason to listen to yet more of your stuff. :)
That's good advice! Encouraging what we love is better than discouraging what we dislike. Not merely in the Pavlovian sense, does this work, but people also feel inspired when they get positive feedback, whereas they're more likely to experience a creative block (or an equivalent psychological barrier if what they're doing isn't creative in the traditional sense) if they receive negative feedback. Of course, constructive criticism is neutral feedback, as many variables can influence how it's received.
Oh, this is just so beautiful! I am glad to finally be able to recognize each tune! "The Place I'll Return To Someday" is one of my favorites. Lucky for me, there are tons of variations of the theme throughout the game! Ah, I was going to list all of my favorites, but I would be naming too many! "Loss of Me" is such a pretty song... My absolute favorite song in the game is "Song of Memories", though. Oh! Oh, goodness! I was not expecting you to sing to it, too! How wonderful... Why do you not sing more often? You have a gorgeous voice! (Hmm... Have I asked you this before? I feel as though I have, though that is unlikely.) This medley has filled me with happiness!
I will, then! I will even try to get my brother to play them! I doubt he will, but, hey... It does not hurt to try. Sorry for being late the reply to these. Are you well? Many have been getting sick with colds/fevers, it seems.
RebeccaETripp well let me tell u that u make a great job for the Real espírit of Music is really awesome and an honor listen that here u have make a new admirator
And the talent of uematsu, u make me remenber how much i miss a Real good game and not the comercial sh1t that square-enix give to us, some one use phoenix down on square-soft
Thank you, Princess Zelda! I wish I knew why I can't ever reply to your posts. The reason I don't sing more often is because I'm shy, and because I don't have a good microphone. :3 I'm glad you liked these. I had a feeling that Song of Memories would be one you liked. I take it you played through FF9 recently?
I decided to watch a walk-through of the game instead. I do not enjoy playing turn-based (fighting) games myself, but I do love watching others! I really though I fixed that problem the other day. I will try again!
ff9 is almost a masterpiece.its such a balanced game. it has everything really. great story, amazing set design location design. character building, music, battles. quina let's it down for me.
While I wasn't the biggest fan of ff9 as a game [There was too much shuffling around of party members and I am one of those people who prefer more "blank slate"- type characters], it was still enjoyable. The music, though? If it wasn't for me having grown up on FF7, this would be the best soundtrack in the series. Better than 8 and 10 and 13. By far.
wow, great ... amazing .. i love all of these !!! How did u compose it ?? would you mind to share ??? This is truly amazing, it's such a nostalgic song from the beginning, waw .. now you make want to download en emulator and ff9 iso on my phone >_< will play again, hahaha .. xD~ btw, you have a great voice there :D Keep going !! :D
I'm still listening while writing my comment, and as always, I love your music, and believe me, it's hard to please me when my favorite games are concerned ^^ But I have one question : Do you have your own Hyperbolic Time Chamber? Cause you did a lot in just a few weeks x)
I am the protector of wolverines and it is my civic responsibility to ensure that they live productively and are able to learn the language and harmonies of the world, which are oftentimes found in Becky's music.
Of the 100 nobles watching this, 96 were impressed. Queen Brahnne was quite impressed.
Edit: many rooftop viewers were also impressed.
Make that 67 impressed nobles. CB
Haha! Thanks!
ha please ive gotten brahnne quite impressed but yet only 30 nobles were impressed... LOGIC

one of the best RPGs of all time. I love the orchestral versions. thank you!
Thanks! :D
So wonderful. As I toil away at work, this keeps me focused so outside noise doesn't stop me. So peaceful.
+Daniel Giammanco ^_^ I'm glad it's been of use!
Funfact: Final Fantasy IX's soundtrack was Nobou Umatsu's favorite work.
+Froglord of Destiny I'm not surprised. ^_^
+Froglord of Destiny I bet eternal harvest was his favorite song. the piano version is so fun to play :)
By far the most memerable soundtracks in videogames to date. This game is close to my heart and its soundtrack is top notch!
While FF4, FF6, and FF7 are all superior soundtracks, FF9 was the last of the traditional Uematsu sound and therefore classic gold imo
@@michaeldane75 You think the FF7 soundtrack is better than this one???
this is my favourite game of all time and my favourite soundtrack from a game of all time
The transition between Protecting my Devotion and Rose of May is out of this world. Lovely work !
FF9 is one of my favorite games ever. It had the perfect balance of depth and levity, and I think it's the purest expression of Final Fantasy to date. I constantly play The Place I Will Return to Someday on my cedar flute. love this.
Thanks! I like to play that on my flutes, too. ^^ You should upload a video of yourself playing!
When the world map music came in, I got the shivers!
This is absolutely wonderful. Ff9 is my favorite entry in the vast final fantasy franchise by far. It's the first game I played and it holds many dear memories. Thank you for creating this :)

I've been waiting for this! And it even has my favorite character's theme in it!
Vivi, I would assume? ^^
What gave it away haha
I like him and Amerant.
Gorgeous medley, FFIX has such a beautiful OST and this just brings the music even closer together.

21min touch my heart
Wonderful...For all the words I know,I cannot express exactly how this make me feel.Feelings gathered dancing alongside my personal thoughts....Pretty lofty
Not everybody can't do that in the way you did....
Thanks. ^_^
Nostalgic :,) Truly a fan of this medley
Thanks a lot! :,D
Love this! what a fine work T_T
Sergio Martin Scotto Thanks! ;D
thx u for doing this xD, i couldnt listen all cause i end my work day, but tomorrow i will listen this and.the others at work :D
:D Great! Thanks for the interest/feedback.
You get into a bit of a "Mystic Mysidia" vibe at 5:18. Got to love that... xylophone?
Thanks! You're definitely right. I was inspired by that track. ^^
@@RebeccaETripp Nice! I picked up on it right away. I love your medleys. I put them into a playlist for work.
I shouldn't listen to much of any remix of "Over Those Hills", because before you know it, I'm just staring out the window and daydreaming.
I bet we'll get a FF8 and FF9 remake in the future.)
"Protecting My Devotion" and "Rose of May" are two of my favorite tracks in the entire series- though I love the track really puts the feeling of the game forward- Steiner and Beatrix back-to-back, taking on those mist worms in the streets is one of my favorite scenes of the game.
+Princess Zelda You should play Final Fantasy 4 for the DS or FF6 next. :) Or watch them online. I think you would like them, princess. ^_^
I will, then! I will even try to get my brother to play them! I doubt he will, but, hey... It does not hurt to try. Sorry for being late the reply to these. Are you well? Many have been getting sick with colds/fevers, it seems.
I'm well at the moment, thank you. :) I hope you're well also.
*_Meu Primeiro RPG, muito lindo e perfeito_*

Great Music, this game means a lot to me too, thanks for getting me misty-eyed haha good luck always.
This made my night.
Sincerely yours,
Me.
+Kuja's Shiet Thank you so much!
I like it! Can't wait for the FF8 medley. :D
Thank you. :)
I will try again!
so beautiful. ugh.
I'm glad it brought some feelings! :D
17 ppl soffered by authism when they were kids....
Agreed with the compositor, ff9 is the best soundtrack ever heard in a videogame
ff9 is almost a masterpiece.its such a balanced game. it has everything really. great story, amazing set design location design. character building, music, battles. quina let's it down for me.
Quina was ALMOST good. I can forgive its presence, since it's more developed than, say, Gogo or Umaro. It's got the mark of an older FF tagalong.
I can only assume that the 3 dislikes were from the Black Waltzes.
+Kizshmit Perhaps! They were in the audience, watching the play... but Black Waltzes are impossible to please!
+RebeccaETripp True. I'll give them an 'A' for tenacity though. Great work on the arrangement!
Very beautiful, thank you for sharing 👍
Thank you, too. ^_^
Excelentes temas. La escencia de FF9.
Best game in the series by far
Really nostalgic!!
Utterly Fantastic. Did you also do the artwork in your transitions...
+MitchBurns09 Thanks a lot, Mitch. Actually, all the art in this video is official concept art and in-game art. :)
this is wonderful!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. ^^
so fantastic to listen your remix one more time thank's
+saint desein I'm really pleased that you liked it enough that you wanted to listen more than once. :)
lovethis♥
Thanks!
By far.
Words cannot describe how f*&king awesome this is!!! LOVE IT!! so I'll just do this ARHGGSJEFKFSAHG!!!
SJDAOAJSGOASJ5OAJSFGA4THANK YOU CAL6SSDSNSD!

That is the most half-assed expression i have ever seen...
Steiner is fed up.

Hehe! Yeah... Uematsu is hella inspired by the romantics. :)
Thanks you so much for this :)
:D It was my pleasure!

This is truly amazing, it's such a nostalgic song from the beginning, waw .. now you make want to download en emulator and ff9 iso on my phone >_< will play again, hahaha .. xD~ btw, you have a great voice there :D Keep going !! :D
+Jimmy Handoko Thank you so much.
I'm still listening while writing my comment, and as always, I love your music, and believe me, it's hard to please me when my favorite games are concerned ^^
But I have one question : Do you have your own Hyperbolic Time Chamber? Cause you did a lot in just a few weeks x)
Hehe, I've actually asked that exact question a for a couple people. The answer is. I do have one. :)
This is the type of medley that would make a wolverine purr.
Lol! You are consistent! It's very important to know how wolverines will react. Thank you very much! ^_^
I am the protector of wolverines and it is my civic responsibility to ensure that they live productively and are able to learn the language and harmonies of the world, which are oftentimes found in Becky's music.
Marvellous...
Rhaeku Thanks! ^_^
