Chicago Behind The Scenes - Renée Zellweger (2002) HD
Murderesses Velma Kelly (a chanteuse and tease who killed her husband and sister after finding them in bed together) and Roxie Hart (who killed her boyfriend when she discovered he wasn't going to make her a star) find themselves on death row together and fight for the fame that will keep them from the gallows in 1920s Chicago.

Renee has a beautiful voice. I would definitely buy an album if she ever put one out! She was phenomenal in this film
And she proved herself again in spades with her singing in Judy.

Renee Zellweger, IS BACK!
She has so much character in her voice, especially for someone who's not a "singer."
That singing voice is absolute magic. I'm glad she started using it more - especially with JUDY. Holy cow, she was amazing in that movie.
Renée was very good in CHICAGO, especially for someone who hasn’t been trained. She was outdone by Catherine in all of their scenes together, but she shined bright in her solo moments. And she was not a top Oscar contender that year because she was up against Nicole Kidman (winner for The Hours), as well as Julianne Moore (Far From Heaven- should have won!), Salma Hayek (Frida), and Dianne Lane (Unfaithful)... all meatier dramatic parts than her flashy turn in Chicago.

Not a top Oscar contender? She won the Globe and SAG and was the star of the BP front runner. Renée and Nicole were neck and neck that year, and many genuinely expected Renée to win.
Salma should've won the Oscar for Frida. That's just the truth. HOWEVER, Renee was AH-MAHZING in Chicago. Salma gave the BEST performance out of them all. Imho. I thought she was better than BOTH Kidman and Moore.
Couldn’t disagree more. Catherine was musical theatre background. Renee matched her through and through.

Renee Zellweger is super talented. It's a shame the movie's producer and director did not have her perform he original Bob Fosse / Ann Reinking choreography that made the original and revival of Chicago such great theater.

They were both great in Chicago--Catherine won the Oscar for Best Actress, but Renee won the Golden Globe.
Catherine Zeta Jones -fan I know you left this comment 2 years ago, so I'm quite late. was just wondering why you hate Renee? I thought she was fantastic. I also must say that I was mesmerized by Catherine. But in my opinion they both did amazingly award winning jobs.
