- I took on the challenge of taking dark magician to YCS Vancouver. Here is how it went. Vancouver is a beautiful city with amazing people and I had a blast!

Im a casual player but can you try soul servant send pharaonic advent to grave. Send two traps/spells to grave that being magic defense to revive pharaonic advent. either have dugares revive him, magic defense or play chaos phantasm to copy him and use itself as fodder. Then take tyrant throes and use navi to revive 2 dark magicians to lock opponent.. it aint competitive but maybe you can create or add cards that it might.. its fun to lock them and have eternal soul to revive dark magicians and link ladder to tenyi.. add in apophis to negate and have extra normal monster.. add in magical hats to create 2 normal summons for tyrant throes while sending traps like navi, magic defense etc to grave and revive dark magician and lock opponent.. its stylish and fun for content but it aint competitive 😂 add one aremasir adventure cont spell is fun too. Or shadow light magician soul to summon effect veiler to sychro summon formula and get a draw.. with magicians rod negated you can still synchro summon into junk speeder.. deck dont have much space but its nice to pull out 5 synchrons tuner and create something thinking your DM deck is done.

Props to anyone who unironically plays Dark Magician at a competitive level and consistently summons double Dragoon turn one - my favorite Boss monster of all time. I play Branded at locals and I only put one Dragoon in the extra. (The extra deck space is tight in Branded.) So this guy is kinda my hero.

No disrepect to you or your opponents, but even tho it should be obvious sometimes players will overlook how early losses will skew the rest of your matchups.

I know its niche, but without Circle and Soul's removal, i've been running Bond between teacher and student and Dark burning magic. It helps me out with the Lab match up since its a full board wipe for them if I open up Rod and Souls. It's been nice having a searchable board wipe. in a lot of my YGO OMEGA duels and even IRL duels, it does come up where I would search Bond, or if I opened Bond, I'd search Dark Burning if I needed to board wipe that turn and a lot of people don't see it coming so they usually wont Ash Bond.

Saucy saucy! I’ve tested a bit of bonds, I just don’t like the added bricks especially in a deck that needs to maximize the value in the first 5 cards it sees…
But I’ll look into it again, because with minimal omni negates in the format rn , it could be saucy
@@MatchieYGO im not gunna sit here and say that its the best, because I have opened up with bond, burnig, DM, DMG, and forbidden droplets (which i play to stop Synchrons, and get Rod's eff if people try to imperm Rod) and I've lost that duel. I figured since Im already running Dm, an inherently bricky deck, why not add just 2 more cards into thr deck which could be a huge blow out, and win me games. lol
I play DM for a long time,now i dont have a lot of time so i play a bit of master duel in my work, your video appear to my like a miracle, because your deck is very cool, the shadoll combo its very good, thanks for playing DM because it make me happy to see more people like me still playing this cool deck ❤

This reminds me when I played YCS Secaucus back in Goki/Striker format with Mekknight/Kaiju to counter the meta. Then I played 3 True Draco rounds 1, 2 and 4. My worst match up. Felt bad.
It’s brutal. Round 1 game 1, set 5, I immediately knew I’m screwed into this matchup haha
Congrats on winning those mats! And keep them videos coming! Your dedication to this deck it's what could make more people play it and maybe Konami trowing us some much needed modern support !!! PS: I'm still trying to get the 3 magician's souls to play this myself 😢

You tried your best and had a great time, that's all that matters! what colourless sleeves do you use to double sleeve on top of your normal white oneels for your dm deck? As a dm player myself, keep it up!
I use dragon shield white for the sleeves and Dragon shield clear mat Japanese over sleeves over them. Hope this helps :)

from one dm player to another, respect brother, you did a damn good job regardless of people saying dm isnt competitive but we both know theyre wrong and you certainly proved it and gave it your all, and plus dude its your first regional and people tend to play very differently and be more aggressive than most, but hell at least you had fun buddybthats all that matters, also what place did you end up being in?

If one winda gets outed, you can make another one. Comes up so often
I'm in MD, against labrynth, I can win more often than not if I can get the black luster soldier - soldier of chaos (link 3, need lvl 7 to link summon this). Cannot be targeted nor destroyed so make sure you summon this while opponent has a couple of monsters on field (you just need one, but labrynth can recall monsters to hand), give it 1500 ATK for destroying a monster, at this point, labrynth cannot do anything about a 4500 ATK non-targetable non-destructible monster.
Not easy to do because if you do this going first, he'll be just 3000 and can be attacked into; if you go second, it's hard to get it out on the board.

I really like triple tactics thrust, so maybe that. Not sure yet!

for more going second cards, I wasn't surprised DRNM and super poly didn't make the side deck per your pre ycs video.
what about utilizing droplet.. or is that too slow or expensive of a resource utilization card to side in?
Droplet burns a lot of resources, as much as i LOVE that card, I don’t think it has a spot right now, but it could see play in the future
The problem with DM deck is put the girl and the mage on graveyard fast
I like your content a lot and don’t want to be mean or anything but personally I don’t count anything after you lose the 3rd game. Even if you have 2 losses and 1 tie you might not make top cut, so if you lose a 3rd game you are mathematically eliminated from the tournament and everyone knows it.
It’s why everyone drops after 3 losses, and there is an understanding that everyone who is left is playing for fun. Having personally played in a few regionals and a YCS, the quality of opponents were significantly lower and no one was trying anymore at 3 losses.
That’s why I think it’s disingenuous to mention any wins after you are mathematically eliminated, as there is a big difference if you won 4 games in a row fighting for your tournament life at the bubble of 2 losses, versus winning 4 games in a row against for fun opponents (most good players just leave after 2 losses) who probably aren’t trying very hard either.
Honestly the YCS was the deck performance testing, counting may seem a bit odd since you will get eliminate eventually.
But even so, the deck should already bring its light to other player. Consider amount of players, there will be more people recognizing it.
You’re absolutely right, x-3 to start the day, screwed the matchups going forward, but I promised myself I’d play it out, and report on the results regardless of the outcomes :)

Hey great video as always! Where do you think this deck places in the meta? Is it better than regular branded or branded chimera? Would you say it’s in the top 10 best decks rn or maybe top 20?
It’s not very high in the meta, I won’t rank it with a number but it’s a D tier deck if I’m 100% honest. It’s success comes from catching people off guard and being the better player
What about the eye of timaeus it’s the best spell for dark magician I recommend you to use set in main deck
It’s a cool anime card at best. It’s not great in modern yugioh… it’s not searchable, and requires a decent amount of set up. Not ti mention you go neg in card advantage.
For example, rather than setting up DM and hard opening EOT to make a fusion, you can just activate Branded fusion or red-eyes fusion and achieve the same result.

As far as banlist goes, maybe the branded cards take a hit, but the dark magician cards are safe right now
Would you consider play pot of prosperity in the main the instead of one of the blowout cards (maybe nibiru)?
The deck draws 2-4 times per turn, I don’t think you can afford to cut the resource generation for prosp… that being said, prosp is a crazy card
What would you consider in place of Solemn Judgments in the side? 3 Evenly Matched?
Not sure yet, thinking about a few spicy things im excited to try. When I come to a decision, you guys will know :)

I kinda hate that i can test this deck online really. Master duel has a different banlist (and still no Dragoon). It looks really intresting and i would love to play it.
But can someone explain Duality to me a bit more? I dont understand how it works or for what its good for / what the targets u summon are?

Ty. I watched it. And it makes a lot more sense now. Sadly i cant use Dragoon on Master Duel but damn the synergy of shaddoll, branded and duality with dark magician is insane. But even without dragoon: Duality is such a nice card: Instant Dark Magician dragon knight just with timaeus + duality or the mill effect of the lvl 7 spellcaster light fusion monster > Mill Dark Magician Dragon knight, revive him with soul. How did i never noticed duality before its so nice to have + recycling material and extra draw power.

Never play 3 nibiru, you only played 1 or at most 2 of it.
I feel like this should be retitled to something else. Less than half the deck is DM, so this isn't just DM
