Yes, you still can disable Windows Defender in 2021. Smash the LIKE button 👍
Have you ever watch an old movie that people had to pay for protection to the very people that was a threat I.e. the mob. Oddly we are doing the same thing today. We pay for protection from viruses and such to the very companies that put them on your computers. Let's not forget the government. They put so many viruses and such things on our computers to track us and spy on us and deletes information from our devices that we don't think or believe those are virus. We can't buy a program that will protect us from the government and all the company's we pat for protection.
thanks
@@RealSarahJade they are all set up to allow and put viruses on the computer
thanks it works
Use winslap
crazy how all the other videos dont help and only show u toturn off real time protection but this one actually helps.
Can't count the times you saved me from throwing my monitor out the window due to a windows problem, thank you !
haa haa
Hahahaha
Than you just don't follow there simple steps hahaha 🤣
i hate windows defender, it's automatically delete my game even though there's no virus
They’re might be even on steam there’s games with virus
it uses my pc resources too much while playing games
😂😂😂😂 me too Bro
same issue brohther
Every game has virus files, some are just not harmful to your information on you pc
I don't have enough words to thank you. I was struggling a lot.
I have struggled for hours to disable it. This videos saves me.
Thanks!
Ok I just figured it out. Some sneaky update broke the toggle. It still functions silently and blocks programs even though it says it's disabled. In addition to the now mandatory updates, and on top of the temporary toggle which was bad enough, this was clearly patched to break this option, giving users the illusion of control where there is none. This is pretty despotic on Microsoft's part.
So there is absolutely no way to properly disable it now?
@@franzpattison I dont see MsMpEng.exe eating up my memory anymore in the task manager tho
you are right buddy.
for new security patch, ENABLE item 1,2,4,10... it works
look at my comment above, this fixes that problen, well for now i suppose until another update lol
You are the best!! I did everything from editing the registry to doing the group policy thing but NOTHING was working!! Finally the defender control worked like a charm

@@mystorefreeclassifiedsanno1593 what are referring to? What are these items?
Hay Brian, your videos are always so helpful, especially when you are also supporting us Windows 10 home users like me, your the best! :O)
Glad to help!
WOW! i've been looking for this explanation!!! THANKS SO MUCH MATE!!!
Best video guide ever, since i didnt even need to watch it, thanks to instructions on the description!
Thank you!!!! My PC has been running hot due to defender running a program in the background 24/7 that I could not get to stop. This worked like a charm!
defender control is a lifesaver , thanks for the video
Thank you so much for your hard and serious work! Most appreciated!!!
This is a life saver tutorial just had to migrate from Vista to win10 and now dealing with these new issue’s that ms have tried to lock me down. 👍🍻🇦🇺
yea and you should not upgrade to windows 11 cuz when right clicking it make go to a extra menu to delete and copy stuff.
Thank you!
This was a massive help.
thank you man i just used that tool you suggested its working
Thank you so much for helping us and always sharing 😘
Thank you very much - I could not use the Group policy regardless that I have the pro version, still not accessible though. The second workaround is working like a charm! Thank you!
After May 2021 you can no longer disable windows spyware and virus called Windows Defender.
you now also cant roll back updates without it just reinstalling them in the background without even telling you that its using bandwidth. windows is trash.
@SkyLine Architects it's called Windows Virus and Spyware.
@SkyLine Architects leave windows and goto linux bro ;)
you can, i've done it lmao. i cant remember how to do it so im back here :P
Still Works.
I wasnt able to disable the windows defender by following the video, when i reset my pc, it goes back on, but the defender control options really works great for me! Thanks!
Actually really good advice video.
Thanks very helpful. The group policy workaround worked for me. Which is downloading the third party software works like magic for those who are having troubles with turning it off under group policy. Also a little tip, you can add the app to exclusion list. Thank you very much
Thank you for your useful video!!!
Everything I've done has never worked for MONTHS, even the first method you did, when I restarted my PC, in the Group Policy Editor it was changed to Disabled. I thought I did it by accident, so I changed it to Enabled again. Restarted my PC, it was changed to Not Configured. Defender Control did the trick however, after many years of fighting this stupid thing. Thank you.

i guess
life time saver. thanks i saw your comment and jump to 6:24
Thanks for video mate.
Looking at that group editor, glad I stuck with Windows home :). Interesting vid though!
you can upgrade to w10 pro for free
thank you very much
that was helpful :)
Thanks mate, it's worked!
This doesn't work anymore. I tried it and on restart, for about a minute I had my system process taking up a lot of cpu and when I checked windows defender it was completely activated again. Also, my right click stopped working immediately after this, so maybe it's retribution for trying to stop our Microsoft overlords from controlling my pc.
Can you suggest something else that will work, it is getting on my nerves now like never before.
@@adarshmalodia302 Microsoft is killing all of our PCs with this. At this rate I'm going to get a MAC or Linux
@@mee091000 i didn't thought of that before, it's actually a good idea.
I fixed many issue from your videos, best RUclipsr ever.
thanks
Best Ever Video ! Very useful
I always find satisfaction and helpful in this video for software dev
Unfortunately, the group policy editor didn't disable anything. The Windows Defender Antivirus Service is still running in the background using 0-40% of CPU and 130mb of memory (Yes, I rebooted the PC).
Yeah it conastantly takes up 20-30% of my CPU usage and my frames in games turn so bad compared to my old pc with worse specs that didn’t have windows defender enabled. I’ve turned it off in settings but still uses around 20 at idle it’s so dumb they can’t give you an option to delete it or terminate it in task manager like you can with other apps
Agreed. Not working anymore.
antimalware execute is im guessing what ur talking about in the task manger that's what its called. its separate from the normal win defender constantly running and spiking cpu cores and temps. simply go into registry editor type this and itll take you right to it "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Advanced Threat Protection" right click it then click new 32bit d word name it DisableAntiSpywar set the value to1. reboot and ur good. telemetry also does this also you can turn it off the same way you turn off the the av
I agree. I went and not only disabled Windows Defender in the Group Policy editor, I also disabled realtime protection, and it was disabled- until I restarted my computer.... which was part of the process this guy said. I have also noticed that when I leave my computer alone for a while, it looksnas though it restarted, without my permission or anything. No Windows update prompt either. I just go to do something for half an hour and come back to see all the desktop woth all the programs I had open now closed and Windows Defender running.
@agoogleuser2507 well thats not Windows Defender, but it is part of the av, but it's separate from defender. it's ab scanning its anti-spyware. And yeah, it can only be turned off using the registry, but you have been Windows Pro to edit it. They're other 3rd party tools that can give you access Ideally you'll want to use and this is one of a few programs, but winaero tweaker will force stop it from even installing you wanna do this after a clean install is called in task manager anti mallware executable and windows advanced threat protection in the registry
thanks bro 😇,
no more GAME interuptions🤗
Thanks a lot brooo
Windows defender control work uff i thought i have lost it thanks mate🤛🏻
Thank you so much!
Thanks man
bro i liked and subbed, i respect you for helping me with a problem on my new gaming pc.
i need a roblox hack but couldnt use it bc defender thinks its a virus
very informative
it was very helpful
this video saved my finally from windows defender, thanks a lot :)
thank you so much
As usual you are AWESOME and RIGHT ON THE MONEY! I watched a newer video from someone else and it showed 2 different methods (neither was yours) and neither worked. One involved changing/taking ownership and the other involved editing the registry. Your Group Policy hack worked! Thank you!
sept 20201, thank you very much. This method works and keeps defender disable even after restating the pc.
20201? What a Year!!!! just picking
It doesn't work. gpedit setting becomes "Not configured" after restart and real-time protection turned-on again.
i have same problem
Same issue. Really annoying. Mining rig keeps restarting because of this like every 3 days.
U forgot to apply mine work here
Well it really work with me
In the group policy you have to right click and choose apply to all and then do what's instructed in the video
Omg thank you soo much!!! you are the best.
I did need to watch another video because my gp edit was not showing up but besides that this was great!!!
keep it up!
:]
No problem 😊
my antimalware service in Task manager is immortal bruh..
I've done everything. and watched countless video and he wont die
tysm u helped me a lot
Thanks man!
Thanks for your time.
My pleasure!
Thanks for this, could not turn off real-time scan without the software. You could toggle it off but it would enable itself again at some point spiking temps and CPU usage
@us na Play the video it tells you towards the end. Its called defender control
Thank u!
But what should be the reason to turn off Windows Defender ....??
first thing helped me on youtube thanks
Thank you sir, you rock!
Thanks!
Thank u very much ❤
Thank you
Thanks only the last option worked for me
YOU SIR, ARE A GENIUS
Best tutorial ever. Thanks Brian.
That second Option, pheeeewie, that worked, after allowing each individual part of it when I ran it. But when it ran uncontested. That did the job. Love it. :D
you are super great. thanks biggggg
thank u, finally i did it
I've been following your videos for such a long time. (not always subscribed, because of this and that. Sorry lol)
And i love your way of explaining things. So clear. I just love it. It's my way.
Lately i watch your videos because i just need to be up to date in the pc world (because of work etc).
But mostly i keep loving your videos because it helps my mom and my friends who are not "very good" with pc's and all the "options".
You are a hero in my opinion. Thank you!
Welcome back!

Wow, Cool Video!

As of jan2024 i followed every step while win10pro and when i restart defender is still on as it was???? :/ No white shield. Please update your video top correct. some of us need offline computers running without defender endlessly getting in the way!!
tysm
THANK YOU YOU GOT A SUB :)))
thanks
Virtual machines can run slow, the fault being Windows Defender, so was hoping to remove Windows Defender from the virtual machine completely. Saw a different channel, in a different video, recommend IObit, but scanning the file flagged it as malicious. There seems to be no absolute way to get rid of this windows-cockroach. Inbetween solutions are still helpful of course, thank you :)
So I can just disable defender in task scheduler or just in the Windows security?
thanks a lot just cant express
