You got straight to the point, didn't waste our time, easy step-by-step instructions, and no annoying music in the background. Thank you!
The ability to come into someone's home unannounced, install updates onto their computer, and then reboot their computer without permission - this has got to be illegal or at least infringe upon personal rights and privacy. How is Microsoft allowed to do this and get away with it? Where is Congres when you need them? Do they even know?!?
That's why you should use LTSC or Entreprise version
Boomers can't into tech. Known skill issue.
Microsoft is/was heavily involved with DARPA and the CIA. After the incident with the Nazis and IBM, they knew no one would trust IBM into their home. Welcome Windows, its monopoly, and all its anti-competitive behavior.
amazon took £9.99 out of my bank account recently for amazon music, which I never had or need, they claimed it was ordered via alexa which is another thing I do not have and will never have. (they were quick to refund which makes it even more suspicious)
I'm still on 10 and I'm staying here. it works and I have it optimized and secured effectively. I've used a pro WIN10 debloater and run TRON. I do not need windows updates because it ALWAYS messes MY system up. thank you.
Thank you very much for the patch to run for Windows 10 Home. I run religious radio stations with some high $ automation software. Windows has been doing updates that disrupt the program and takes us off the air. Some of our donated PC's have Windows 10 Home which did not have GPEDIT capability. You saved the day.
Hi Crown Geek, I have Windows 10 Pro on my laptop when I shutdown and start it again then the "services----> Windows update" service start automatically on manual. Kindly suggest any setting for this
Thanks for the easy step by step instructions! Now I will do this on my arcade built PCs with Windows 10 on them. Appreciate it man!
Very straight forward guide and easy to understand! Thank you very much! ^_^
Hello, thanks for the tuto but the Windows Update Service is still starting at startup on my Windows 10 Pro 64bits. What makes it starts again ? I've followed all your procedure.
Thank you for this ive followed many other guides on this stupid issue that they clearly made to be impossible and missed 1 step everytime hopefully this will work!!! 😃
straight to the point.. love it!
I honestly think Microsoft needs to be sued for forcing people into updating like this because apparently disabling updates normally doesn’t do anything and they still force updates. They’ve also removed the registry file that allows you to disable updates. Quite invasive if you think about it. All the more reason I think a lawsuit is needed.
couldn't agree more
I wanted to mention windows has since added something in the task scheduler called sih and just from briefly reading it, it sounds like another failsafe to re-enable windows update by sending you updates from a different method. May want to look into disalbing that as well.
In my windows update service......the stop button as well as other buttons are not highlighted!!!!!!
Yes, same as mine! it says "sihpostreboot" (in task scheduler for Windows Update). I have done every step he mentioned in this video but my Windows Update goes back to enabled every time I turn on my laptop. HELP!

I don't see a problem with us having to disable Win Update just once every time we start, it's better than having no control@@jscs9960
Thank you very much for such a great step by step tutorial for the MOST ANNOYING non-stop, update notifications 3 to 4x a day. Trillion dollar company that loves to annoy the hell out of its costumers. You would think they would have a good customer service dept.
Hopefully all these steps work, but I am now hopeful thanks to your great advice and help. Thanks for taking the time to help me and many other people.
its not to annoy you, its to control you.
straight to the point.. love it! Thanks
Straight to the point and very helpful. You have my SUB and LIKE. Thank you. You are amazing
Thank you so much. It disabled Windows Update as you claimed. The instructions were very easy to follow. Thanks again.
Well explained video! Just one advice, would have been great if the extra step to install gpedit for Win Home edition was mentioned at the beginning of the video and not the end. I wasted so much time trying to figure out why it wasn't showing up in search bar and had to google and follow steps from other side to create the BAT file and install the gpedit.
LOL I just thought that same thing, It's lucky that I didn't start going through all these steps before the end
Thanks for this step by step instructions- You are a very good instructor -to the point thanks
Once i reset my pc those services switch to manual instead of disabled as i made it. It seems to work autonomously and repairs itself once being blocked.
When I go to Task Scheduler when I click disable it shows that it has disbabled all the triggers except one called "One Time". This trigger tells it to run the task again 30 minutes later. I tried deleting this trigger, changing the time for when it would run, and disabling it. But Task Scheduler then says "Task Scheduler service is not available. Task Scheduler will attempt to reconnect it." Then it gets put back and enabled. Any idea on how to get rid of it?
Worked for me. Just one question, in the programs and features control panel, there is a software titled ‘update for windows 10 for x64-base system’ that sounds like that should be removed right?
The last windows update left my laptop with no keyboard, luckily it is a touch screen so I could access my data. It told me that my laptop wasn't suitable for Windows 11 update, so the only thing I could find was to reset back to factory settings Windows 10, which I did and got my keyboard back. I've just followed your instructions and hopefully won't get into that mess again. It has an update listed in my power off section but I am assuming that will go away when I turn off tonight. Thanks for your easy to follow instructions.
Thank you, The Crown GEEK! You are the best! This is so helpful!
This guy is genius. Of all the tips on disabling windows 10 update this is the best one. Deserve some LIKE and SUB. God BLess you all
I cant run gpedit on my windows how do I fix that?
Followed every step multiple times WU keeps turning itself back on.
In Windows 10 Home I could disable the windows medic service via the registry but in windows 10 pro I can't seem to gain access to the key for it. (windows medic is what kept turning it back on in home version, not sure if that's the case for pro). It's like built in malware.
2:16 never told me before, thanks. as well as task scheduler advice. hope it works
I followed another source and it only gave 2 steps. After completing it, my computer still updated. I will see if his instructions works.
My laptop gets stuck on preparing windows screen with no percentage afterwards, restarting it causes it to startup but with windows update on again, what can i do??
hi. thank you. what happens if "Windows Update" is not located in the "Windows Components" under "Administrative Templates" ? it's just not there. and i am having a terrible time trying to get windows update to go away. it's driving me mad! ideas?
thank you in advance.
Straight to point. Great video.
what to do when not even the gpedit thing appear?
i have installed the gpedit enabler but still the feature is not installed.
At 3:07 It wouldn't let me name a key WindowsUpdate, saying there was already something named that, so I named it WindowsUpdat. Should it still work?
Everything else went fine before and after that.
my services windows update always automatically running even if i disabled it . help me bro i cannot use deepfreeze coz it says this computer is completing pending windows update detected by deepfreeze
Thank you so much on this very informative video you've shared. It's such a big help for me.
after that microsoft photos app is not working...it shows error while opening a image from the storage...how to solve that issue without windows license service activating...???
You are a good instructor! Thanks a lot!
hoise bhai?
Amazing! Thank you
One of the, if not, the best tutorials on this topic. Hats off to you, Sir. Thank you very much!
Hiya. Even after all of this. My windows 10 still managed to download updates. The services.msc and task scheduler always restart everytime i restrart the PC. Any more ideas?
I'm tired of updates preventing my PC from starting and having to revert to ld system image files to restore everything. Everything went just fine with your instructions Fingers crossed.
Did you have any Windows updates after this process?
@@monelmonelmonel I had updates on one PC and my laptop, but NOT the PC in question. This process DID work for me and as such I will be repeating the process on my other two devices.
@@Arlo360-Official Thank you for the info! Have a good day
Is it reversible.....i mean in future after one or two years we want to update how to undo this ..........i doubt about the regedit part because the regedit part can actually mess up things irreversibly....!!!!???????
@@gauravpatel3220 I don't know but I haven't experienced any problems and I think my current version of Windows is stable.
I was able to do everything but the Group Policy... When I downloaded and click run as administrator, I never got the "press any Key to continue"... Then when I went back in like the beginning of the video... I got errors
Hopefully it still doesn't run, the updates are destroying my CPU
Update: When I get the error it's "Error 740" (Elevated permission are required to run DISM) (Use an Elevated command prompt to complete these task)
If you can point me in the right direction from here that would be great
all i get from the search is links to web pages. also i dont see any of the options you are showing.
I've did it before now i want to update windows , how can i disable all of this again?
Sir
The error message
" Error 1053 -The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion", while disabling startup type.
What to do
very nice short and simple!
Very well guide through all the steps... Hope I will get rid of this AutoUpdate monster... Thanks a lot buddy...!
Thanks a lot, for this video was very helpful and well understanding.
i did the same as you show in video i Disabled Windows Update from the services menu but after Restarting in Startup Type get manual again
windows update stopped but i still receiving updates for windows defender how to stop please
at 2:25 I get "access is denied" even after running services as admin
Sir, mine is windows 10 pro should I need to download the last part!?
Sounds complicated but I'm going to follow your instructions and give it my best shot because I am sick to death of Windows 10 updates being forced on me - Their updates are totally useless and play havoc with my PC - messing up all my internet connection settings and making me lose my documents whilst I'm in the middle of typing them and Windows 10 decides to download some rubbish update in the background and then randomly crashes my computer without warning with; "We ran into a problem :( We're now restarting your computer" *Stop this nonsense Microsoft We don't like it.*
They are not totally useless for Microsoft. They want as much bloatware and AI nonsense they can cram onto your drive so that...when the time is ripe...full control
didn't work for me, it keep change back to manual then run again
I have windows 10 home do you follow the steps in this video? please let me know asap, thanks!
Can you explain why you have choosen 32bit? because we also have 64bit in the NoAutoUpdate area. Thanks
Now this is how you help if you really want to. Thank you , straight to the point..... not tell your life story yapping away
I already have a file named WindowsUpdate. But you dont ... I cant make new key with same name.. Help please.
Thank YOU!!! What tore it for me was: I "Paused" Windows Updates in my Win10 Pro - and the next time I logged in to Windows, it started happily running updates. Kind of like farting into the wind; asking Microsoft to leave you alone for a while when your machine is currently stable... So, I did THIS as described in your video, and I trust that this will keep Microsoft from destroying my current copy of Windows10. I sure miss the days when the threat to our machines wasn't the actual author of the Operating System. Good times, good times...
i dont see windows assistant in control panel, but i see update for windows 10 x64 based system. sized is only 808kb, should I uninstall it?
@Crown GEEK. What about uninstalling "Windows PC Health Check"? Any thoughts?
Hi, I'm following your instructions. I can's get GP Edit to take me any place inside my computer. It only allows a web search. I am not a paranoid person but I think these computers are being set up so owners can't control what is being done to them. I don't want any updates. I don't turn off my laptop so it doesn't update. I now find that all of a sudden, my computer is off. I have to turn it on by the power button. I own my computer. It shouldn't own me. can I send you a screen shot with a snip tool? That way you can see what I am talking about?
Send me on instagram, link is in description
At the end in task scheduler if you disable windows update it will still come back, I deleted it and now it's gone. If you try to update it won't work but there is a way around that and it will work back the way it was
Amazing on point video amazing step by step process

There maybe a temporary off option for the antivirus
