His laugh was great in Korean, and in Japanese at the “my experiment was a success” part he almost sounds kind of giddy which definitely matches with the energy he had in the manga

@@0xVENx0 oh because some times you can't translate a language very well. Every language has those unique quirks. Not a similar example, but some languages don't have a neutral pronoun. So they'll either use he/she, depending on the situation. In the scene, dottore just says "like a hero who arrives from a victory" while simultaneously addressing the traveller directly , I don't speak or know Chinese so I can't explain it properly.

Harry Potter in HP, Prof X in X-man series, Captain American, etc., he’s also the voice director of Soul Land and voiced Tang Hao. For Chinese fans he’s more known to be the VA for Wei Zhuang in Qin’s Moon series, the 1st 3D donghua in China, where his performance truly made the character iconic.

I think my number one is the CH, and comes right up the EN.. while the KR and JP are about the same level, where each shine in a line different than the other. Glad I at least have the CH dub
My thoughts on each of Dottore’s voices/VA: Eng: I’m probably biased asf for the Eng voice, but Dottore sounds like one of those villains from an old movie with the British voice where the villains are arrogant and have a smooth voice. Esp with the way you can hear how the va shifts pitches and tones depending on what he’s saying to traveler, or how you can hear how the va drags out some of the words- 😳🫣 Either way, love the way the va did Dottore. While I do have a bunch of grips with some of the Eng voices of genshin characters, Dottore’s Eng voice isn’t one lol. Chinese: I love how deep and smooth the va’s voice is. I’m probably biased about this because I first saw the cutscene in English (and it’s the language I understand ), but comparing it to the English one, it feels more monotone than I imagine Dottore being. That being said, I still do love the VA’s voice, and I can see how Dottore having a montone voice works for his character. Korean: The way the Korean VA voices Dottore gives me similar vibes to the way the Eng va does: They both pause and drag out words for dramatic effect. I only know English (sorry T-T) so what I’m going off of is more just if the voice is either pleasing, or how words are said in a certain way: ie, dragged out, are said with differing degrees of emotional tones, and if the overall voice(s) fit the head canon I had of Dottore’s voice before he was ever heard in game. Getting back on track: I think the Korean voice for Dottore is also very good. (Also the way Dottore’s voice goes up and down in pitch w the Korean voice is just 🤌🏻🤌🏻) Japanese: Damn, I don’t know what I was expecting, but the Japanese voice for Dottore- 😳😳🫣 Being more real with it though, I read in the comments that the Japanese va for Dottore voices Muzan, and I can really see that even through this cutscene. Like the deep and smooth voice, but the way the va drawls out the words is just- 😳 Also the laugh from the Japanese va? Like Ayo? Damn you can rlly tell who the va has voiced before 😳🫣 I find that the Korean, Japanese, and English voices for Dottore are more similar in how they tend to draw out how they say certain words, and shift through higher and lower pitches to portray what Dottore is feeling (even if it isn’t much). Just because I’m saying thing about the 3 mentioned voices doesn’t mean that the Chinese va isn’t any good either. The Chinese who voices Dottore has a hot voice ok- but for some reason when my mind thinks of Dottore and his voice, I can picture the Korean, Japanese, and English voices more in my head compared to the Chinese voice. Even with that being said- I can’t help but think about how monotony fits Dottore, especially with a more monotone or bored voice that I feel the Chinese va portrays him with. It shows his arrogance in a different and hot 😳 way. Final notes: This is me honestly nerding out. Everyone can have differing opinions ofc. The bottom line is tho: I’m a simp for Dottore, and all the voices are really unique so I’m not mad or picky about any of them. (Not like I need to be anyways lmao). All I’m hoping for is a playable Dottore ngl. CN sounds calmer, but it's the kind of calm of a cannibal describing his previous meal. It doesn't show the same facet of Dottore as the others, but it fits very well too.
I like ENG voice best. One thing for how deep yet lively he sounds and also how the pitch of the voice have this up and down (unlike the Chinese one), and another for how arrogant and condescending he appears to be. It's ironic remembering I hated his voice in the trailer cuz it squeaks a little.

I really think this English VA in this role is just... over heaven, really. And this particular part with Dottore's appearance is the best. He sound just... I can't say how, just like the Doctor SHOULD sound. And why do I love this scene the best - he's still cold and prideful here but much more vivid than in other conversations.
Park Sung-tae, the Korean version of Dottore voice actor, is my favorite voice actor... He played Jung Eun-chang, the main character of the game called Grey City. It was the first game that made me cry because of the voice actor's painful acting skills. If the day comes when Dottore cries or groans in pain... The casting of Park Sung-tae would be a very regrettable choice.

He always tinkered around with science and experimentation, but this is a different section in his life. Cunning, evil, dastardly. He clearly holds more posture and status here. This build is not meant to represent a sociopathic scientist. You seem to have a very cartoony representation of a "mad scientist". After all, they need to be incredibly cunning to get away with their results. You can't just act like a psycho loon and expect people to comply. You have to get inside their mind, lure them into a false sense of security and then manipulate them into doing what you want through guile.

Eng one sounds better than I thought
My thoughts on each of Dottore’s voices/VA:
Eng: I’m probably biased asf for the Eng voice, but Dottore sounds like one of those villains from an old movie with the British voice where the villains are arrogant and have a smooth voice. Esp with the way you can hear how the va shifts pitches and tones depending on what he’s saying to traveler, or how you can hear how the va drags out some of the words- 😳🫣
Either way, love the way the va did Dottore. While I do have a bunch of grips with some of the Eng voices of genshin characters, Dottore’s Eng voice isn’t one lol.
Chinese: I love how deep and smooth the va’s voice is. I’m probably biased about this because I first saw the cutscene in English (and it’s the language I understand ), but comparing it to the English one, it feels more monotone than I imagine Dottore being. That being said, I still do love the VA’s voice, and I can see how Dottore having a montone voice works for his character.
Korean: The way the Korean VA voices Dottore gives me similar vibes to the way the Eng va does: They both pause and drag out words for dramatic effect. I only know English (sorry T-T) so what I’m going off of is more just if the voice is either pleasing, or how words are said in a certain way: ie, dragged out, are said with differing degrees of emotional tones, and if the overall voice(s) fit the head canon I had of Dottore’s voice before he was ever heard in game. Getting back on track: I think the Korean voice for Dottore is also very good. (Also the way Dottore’s voice goes up and down in pitch w the Korean voice is just 🤌🏻🤌🏻)
Japanese: Damn, I don’t know what I was expecting, but the Japanese voice for Dottore- 😳😳🫣
Being more real with it though, I read in the comments that the Japanese va for Dottore voices Muzan, and I can really see that even through this cutscene. Like the deep and smooth voice, but the way the va drawls out the words is just- 😳
Also the laugh from the Japanese va? Like Ayo? Damn you can rlly tell who the va has voiced before 😳🫣
I find that the Korean, Japanese, and English voices for Dottore are more similar in how they tend to draw out how they say certain words, and shift through higher and lower pitches to portray what Dottore is feeling (even if it isn’t much). Just because I’m saying thing about the 3 mentioned voices doesn’t mean that the Chinese va isn’t any good either. The Chinese who voices Dottore has a hot voice ok- but for some reason when my mind thinks of Dottore and his voice, I can picture the Korean, Japanese, and English voices more in my head compared to the Chinese voice.
Even with that being said- I can’t help but think about how monotony fits Dottore, especially with a more monotone or bored voice that I feel the Chinese va portrays him with. It shows his arrogance in a different and hot 😳 way.
Final notes: This is me honestly nerding out. Everyone can have differing opinions ofc. The bottom line is tho: I’m a simp for Dottore, and all the voices are really unique so I’m not mad or picky about any of them. (Not like I need to be anyways lmao). All I’m hoping for is a playable Dottore ngl. Either way though, to anyone that actually had the patience to read through this, your either a nerd (for voice acting or genshin) or a simp for Dottore and the harbingers. Or both tbh lmao. One more nerdy thing before I post this fucking mini essay: I wrote the English voice “review” last because I know it better and because I thought it would be fun to look at the other voices first to then get my raw reactions. A fun fact: The Eng va for Pantalone voice(s/d) Sebastian from Black Butler, and now I can’t unsee it and it fits so well omfg-
i don't feel that CN sounds monotone at all. but i understand the language, so the nuances aren't lost on me.

CN sounds calmer, but it's the kind of calm of a cannibal describing his previous meal. It doesn't show the same facet of Dottore as the others, but it fits very well too.

I like ENG voice best. One thing for how deep yet lively he sounds and also how the pitch of the voice have this up and down (unlike the Chinese one), and another for how arrogant and condescending he appears to be. It's ironic remembering I hated his voice in the trailer cuz it squeaks a little.
English one is amazing the Chinese ones good just a bit dry especially in dottore voice the Korean one I LOVE it's so good and the Japanese one is so good I love dottore little chuckle 😍
I really think this English VA in this role is just... over heaven, really. And this particular part with Dottore's appearance is the best. He sound just... I can't say how, just like the Doctor SHOULD sound. And why do I love this scene the best - he's still cold and prideful here but much more vivid than in other conversations.

Park Sung-tae, the Korean version of Dottore voice actor, is my favorite voice actor... He played Jung Eun-chang, the main character of the game called Grey City. It was the first game that made me cry because of the voice actor's painful acting skills. If the day comes when Dottore cries or groans in pain... The casting of Park Sung-tae would be a very regrettable choice.
It's a masterpiece of bad luck that's not well known even in Korea, so I'm putting up a link for those who are curious.

I'm so glad you're interested in my favorite voice actor! The first and second links are a collection of acting from various works. The third is "the Buried Stars", later created by "the Gray city" developer. I think he's trying to make it Persona because he likes his acting in the gray city. However, the main character of this work is quiet and calm, and the real ending is prohibited from uploading, so I couldn't bring intense acting. So I rather brought a comedy ending haha...

@Ruhan I don't think this dottore suppose to be mad scientist, Look at his posture he always stand with hands behind, just like Zhongli. This is the posture of a leader, means at that moment he is calm and confident.
@Ruhan You forget this is his Omega build, the prime of his life where he was at his strongest. He always tinkered around with science and experimentation, but this is a different section in his life. Cunning, evil, dastardly. He clearly holds more posture and status here. This build is not meant to represent a sociopathic scientist.
You seem to have a very cartoony representation of a "mad scientist". After all, they need to be incredibly cunning to get away with their results. You can't just act like a psycho loon and expect people to comply. You have to get inside their mind, lure them into a false sense of security and then manipulate them into doing what you want through guile.
