You know who also was a stat compliler over many years? Hank Arron. To have that kind of longevity as a running back in the NFL and to play at such a high level is Frank’s biggest accomplishment. Go ask the offensive lineman what they think about him. They love him because he blocks like a beast and always stays humble. Most underrated RB of all time
One thing gets over looked when looking at Gore's career. When he came out of Miami the dude couldn't stay healthy at all. (I'm a canes fan I know). One draft published called him a 23 year with 35 year old knees...so he proved EVERYONE wrong with this health and longevity. So miss me with that he stayed around long enough to get the stats argument
Kaepernick has memorable playoffs with his legs to beat the Rodgers/Packers. Garoppolo has memorable playoffs by handing the ball off to his RB, throw short passes to his receivers who rack up yards after catch, and panicked then chuck ball up for interceptions.
I think being a stat accumulater as a runningback is a completely justifiable way to get into the hall of fame. Longevity is a rare and valuable thing for that position.
I remember a game with SF where he fumbled at the very beginning. No worries. Gore proceded to have a near 200-yard day, and scored twice. That was The Tank. Thanks for the obtrusive heads of Jed York and Trent Baalke - It's all your fault this man didn't get his well-deserved ring.

@thecarter8700 Gore played 16 seasons, finished 3rd on the all-time rushing list, made good money, and has a pretty good shot to make the hall of fame.
I guarantee you guys like Christian Okoye, Jamal Anderson, Arian Foster, David Johnson, Bo Jackson, Larry Johnson, Billy Sims, Gale Sayers, and many, many others would absolutely kill to have had Frank Gore's longevity. The fact that he seems to have come out relatively healthy when so many of those guys were devastated by injuries after only a few seasons is remarkable.
Frank is the first ballot Hall of Famer
No he's not
Dude had a 79 yd TD and an 80 TD run in the same game…. How is that not memorable? Not to mention during the entire prime of his career he faced 8 and 9 man boxes
I was hoping he'd stay in the league long enough to get the yardage record. But I'm very happy he's retiring a 49er and should be a lock to the HOF
should the 49ers retire his jersey number ?
I agree with everything you said except he's not retiring as a 49er. That's just ceremonial BS. The last down of football he played was for the Jets so as far as the NFL records go, he retired as a Jet.
Coincidentally, Roger Craig was the first player to do the ceremonial one-day signing BS...a man who's long overdue to be in the HoF.
@@masonmcconnell9375 The Niners are running out of numbers so there won't be any retiring of jerseys anytime soon. Being inducted into the 49er HoF and getting added to the stadium's ring of honor is pretty much the equivalent.
@@jetleeroy33 meh the jets was him just loving the game he came back and singed a 1 day contract to retire with us he retired a 49er plus most of his career stats are with us
@@masonmcconnell9375 I'm not discounting his time with the Jets. My only point is that the one-day signing thing is meaningless as far as the NFL records and stats are concerned.
As far as the league is concerned, he retired as a Jet.
That being said, he'll always be a 49er...without a doubt!
Definitely first ballot. We may never see a running back with this type of production for that long ever again with how pass happy the league is right now.
Gore is a lock for the hall, but not 1st ballot. These are the factors against him:
- No multiple all-pro nods
- No MVPs
- No rushing yards title
- Same HOF entering class as Brees and Fitzgerald (2026)
I think Frank Gore is worthy of the hall of fame, and I think everyone can agree with me. But I agree with you. I hate people who say he’s not worthy. But I hate people who say he’s a 1dt ballot.
He should get in Becuase of his consistency and longevity at a position with a short shelf live.
He should not be 1st ballot because he was never dominant.
Frank the tank! Legend and hall of famer 100%
Old school RBs played less games per season. Brockman with more bad takes he’s been making Rich show hard to watch as of late.
I've been cringing at his takes for months now. He just sounds like pouty kid who doesn't like the 49ers.
100% lock. Zero question
One of the most underrated players ever
How dare you slander frank gore career definitely more memorable than fits
I’m not a 49ers fan as a matter of fact I genuinely hate every aspect of the team for personal reasons but Frank Gore there’s no doubt in my mind he’s a HOF and there’s no question and or reason it’s not going to happen much respect enjoy retirement big dog
I was shocked when I realized he was about to pass Berry Sanders in rushing...and to realize that meant he would be in the HOF
That Cowherd shot 😬😬😬
You know who also was a stat compliler over many years? Hank Arron. To have that kind of longevity as a running back in the NFL and to play at such a high level is Frank’s biggest accomplishment. Go ask the offensive lineman what they think about him. They love him because he blocks like a beast and always stays humble. Most underrated RB of all time
Hank Aaron led the league multiple times in multiple categories. He also won an MVP award. Gore never led the league in anything.
thank you Rich
One thing gets over looked when looking at Gore's career. When he came out of Miami the dude couldn't stay healthy at all. (I'm a canes fan I know). One draft published called him a 23 year with 35 year old knees...so he proved EVERYONE wrong with this health and longevity. So miss me with that he stayed around long enough to get the stats argument
I don't think they ever mentioned he's injuries coming outta college n bounced back strong the "INCONVENIENT TRUTH" Frank Gore 21 🔥💪💯
So suddenly staying healthy and being durable = HOFer? We truly are at the end of times...
Hall of Just Average
@@777zippy777 3rd all time in rushing and 12 straight 1200 yard seasons makes him a hof
@@mayankingrevisited8815yea you're right 16000 yards screams average....silly me...clearly you smoke crack
If we’re going off memorable careers then Kap gonna be in before Frank. Franks a legend man he’s going
Thanks for the obtrusive heads of Jed York and Trent Baalke - It's all your fault this man didn't get his well-deserved ring.
ask Warren Sapp what he thinks lol. jokes aside, i agree. Frank should get in.
Who cares what Warren Sapp has to say
Frank gore was a very good back , had the longevity but wasn’t a dominant player like Adrian Peterson , ladainian Tomlinson or Marshall Faulk.
The immortal Frank gore
The Iron Man of the NFL from The U
The tank is about to be painted gold
Absolute unit
Looking at stats you have to look at the number of games in a season because that has changed.
I still can’t believe the NFL never posted ANYTHING about gore’s retirement but posted Fitzpatrick for a week straight like he was Tom Brady 🤦🏻♂️
People seriously forget how good Kaepernick and Gore were together. Just needed a team the Niners were never the safe after that Superbowl.
Brockman wasn't being nice, he was understanding of the fact that talking about Frank Gore is something no one wants to hear.
Frank Gores career averages: 1249 yards, 6 TDs, 4.7 yards per touch
Adrian Peterson career averages: 1160 yards, 8 TDs, 4.9 yards per touch
Marshawn Lynch career averages: 1052 yards, 8 TDs, 4.6 yards per touch
LeSean McCoy career averages: 1250 yards, 7 TDs, 5 yards per touch
The best RBs of Gores era. He was just as productive. Sure, you can argue that they had higher peaks but thats debatable.
Adrian Peterson peak season: 388 touches, 2314 yards, 13 TDs, 6 yards per touch
Frank Gore peak season: 373 touches, 2180 yards, 9 TDs, 5.8 yards per touch
LeSean McCoy peak season: 366 touches, 2146 yards, 11 TDs, 5.9 yards per touch
Marshawn Lynch peak season: 338 touches, 1786 yards, 12 TDs, 5.3 yards per touch
Peterson had the most touches but everyone else had similar yards per touch. If given enough touches Gore would have similar numbers. The biggest reason these other backs get more credit is because they had better teams. Gore was in his 7th season when he made it to the playoffs for the first time. Adrian Peterson was in his 2nd. Marshawn was in his 4th. LeSean was in the playoffs his rookie year. Gore was at the end of his prime when the 49ers were finally good. Frank is as good as any HOF back
How can someone say that Ryan Fitzpatrick had a more memorable career than Frank Gore? What a dumb take.
Dide said Fitzpatrick had a more memorable career than Frank Gore....Frank had multiple 100 yard games in back to back playoffs when the 49ers were Super Bowl contenders and had over 100 in the super bowl
Guys with less stats are already and have been in, if he doesn't get in, there's something wrong. 3rd in the entirety of the whole NFL in rushing yards and not in the hall of fame? I mean what else do you have to do as a RB? Throw 30 tds and kick 5 field goals in addition to your 16k running yards? Oops and we can't forget, you probably might need another 6k receiving yards just in case. It's football treason I tell ya.
I think Rich asks the wrong questions: Gore should be in for pure TOUGHNESS 😊
Rich, I make paracord bracelets. I would love to fashion one for you!
First Ballot hall of Famer easy call
And don't be making fun of Fitz. 223TD against 169 INT for 34,990 yards - that is an excellent career. Not HoF, but very respectable. He had a magical, memorable career.
Did you ever actually watch Fitz play? He would have several good games in a row and then lose 4 in a row while playing awful. He was extremely hit or miss. Nothing special about Fritz’s career. Don’t conflate his personality with his football ability.
He notes the states of Fitzpatrick with scorn, but Terry Bradshaw had 212 TDs and 210 INTs. Namath had more INTs than TDs.
You're literally comparing a QB's career 2005-2021 to QBs that played in the '70s and '60s.
That is totally telling us you don't know football without actually telling us you don't know football.
Like the other poster said, it’s ridiculous comparing QBs to RBs AND different eras, but maybe this helps you.
Bradshaw: 4x SB champion, 2x SB MVP, 1x league MVP, 1x First team all pro, 2x passing TD leader
Namath: 1x SB champion, 1x SB MVP, 1x NFL passing yards leader, 1x NFL passing TD leader, 2x AFL MVP, 1x first team AFL all pro, AFL rookie of the year, 2x AFL passing yards leader
Frank Gore:
@@Supermanfan99 Frank Gore: 3rd most rushing yards in NFL history.
@@soundgrips Yeah, but was never the top RB in the league during his playing time.
@@Supermanfan99 Do you have to be the best in the league at your position to make the HOF? He had 12 consecutive 1200 yard rushing seasons. I don't care what arguements are made he's going into the HOF 100%
Ok saying that Fitzmagic has had a more memorable career then Frank The Tank Gore is extremely just your point of view vs others. During the 2000s through 2010s Frank was the majority of the niners in my point of view. Definitely HOF. Maybe not first ballot but in the hall
No shot Chris actually believes that Fitz should be in the HOF. For what? Being a journeyman and a backup for most of his career? HOF isn’t a popularity contest Chris. Doesn’t matter if his career was more “memorable” than Gores. It’s about the stat sheet at the end of the day plain and simple.
IDKY no team would give him ONE more yr and give him a shot at that #2 spot. but then again , this is a passing league with not many teams focusing on the RB anymore.
5:31 little Colin Cowherd dig by Rich lol
He's like the BRYANT YOUNG of running backs. He's a hall of famer. 👍
Check yourself Rich.
Rich u have one of the greatest live podcast and whatever his damm name is just slandering ur show with comments like that man ..!!
Why isn't Clay MathewsII In the hall #3 in tackles over a career!
My favorite football player ever
Loved Frank Gore
Frank Gore is Hall of Good. He was barley a top ten running backs of his era. Guy just stuck around for many years.
He might be the first to enter both the the Football Hall of Fame and the Boxing Hall of Fame if his second career pans out but he is 39 years old hes going to have to fight a "bum of the month" schedule to pad his record.
3rd most rushing yards and 4th most scrimmage yards. How is this an issue?
Because he was never the top RB when he played. He only had one top five finish in rushing yards his entire career. He also was named first team all pro 0 times.
I can’t believe there’s actually delusional people out there who think he doesn’t belong in the hall of fame ! How can you tell the story of the NFL without the 3rd leading rusher in NFL history !🐐💯
should have gave frank the ball in that superbowl
Rich sending shots at Colin Cowherd? 👀👀
If Curtis Martin is in the Hall of Fame, then Frank Gore belongs in the Hall of Fame
Except Curtis Martin actually won a rushing title and was 1st-team All-pro. He just didn't pad his stats for an extra five years.
9 out of 10, & FG is 3rd & 🚫 IN?!🤯
Just because you were around for a long time doesn’t mean your a hall of famer.
How many people that are around a long time have the 3rd most rushing yards of all time?
@@soundgrips being able to stay heathy a long time does not make you a great player
@@Saberwolves84 having the third most rushing yards of all time does though.
Longevity matters. If Warren Moon is in the hall, Frank Gore should be too.
So you think Vinny Testaverde should also be in the HOF. Duly noted.
Another 49ers RB (Roger Craig) should get in before him.
Craig had a VASTLY more memorable and productive career.
Craig had HoF QBs and Rice and Taylor and SB coach. Craig fumbled the ball, thus killed chance for three-peat.
Gore and Alex Smith played under mediocre coaches and no WR to stretch the field
@@tommydong8070 Craig was an integral part of 3 Super Bowl championships. He also has a first team all pro, won offensive player of the year, was the first RB to ever have 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in the same season, he also led the league in receptions in 1985. Gore has no such accolades.
So playing a long time is bad but everyone praises Tom Brady for playing a long time. Don't understand the Gore slander
He has rings
@@mayankingrevisited8815 and Gore is 3rd all time leading rusher. So what's your point?
If they handed the ball to Frank instead of throwing the same pass 4 times they might have won.
not fair to criticise him for his longevity..after all the best ability is availabikity..
More Franky Gore fun facts:
Gore needed 51 more games than Jim Brown played to surpass Brown's career rushing yards.
Gore needed 39 more games than Eric Dickerson played to surpass Dickerson's career rushing yards.
Gore needed 30 more games than Curtis Martin played to surpass Martin's career rushing yards.
Gore needed 68 more games than Barry Sanders played to surpass Sanders' career rushing yards.
Gore a HOFer... 🤣🤣🤣😂😂🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂
I would rather see Roger Craig in first
Screw it, put both of them in at the same time!!
Frank Gore only has one season with over 1500 rushing yards and he has never made first team all pro. Not a Hall of famer.
1st ballot HOF. Not even a discussion.
Then why is there so much discussion about it?
Frank Gore has the most consecutive years with 1200 scrimmage yards. Frank did it for 12 years straight followed by Barry Sanders, Emmit Smith & Curtis Martin with 10 years straight. Frank is also 3rd all time leading rusher in nfl history after tearing 2 acl’s.. Frank is the leading rusher in 49ers franchise history, ran for 2 back to back 1k seasons with the colts when everybody thought he was washed, after that he then became a solid serviceable back up RB in Miami, Buffalo, NY.. pretty much everybody else would have fallen off before he even got to the colts. Longevity is real especially when your actually still pretty good at that position. I can name more reasons but you really don’t have to explain why frank gore is a hall of famer.. especially when trying to make your point to a dumbass who thinks Ryan Fitzpatrick belongs in the HOF😂 idk his name but rich needs to look for a different co host
These clowns said Fitz had a more memorable career than Gore???? What???
Gore top 3 all time rush yards, Fitzpatrick top 3 all time what?
