Hey Parts Shooter! Appreciate your content, very useful! I have a 2010 CTS 3.0 that needs a power sterring pump. you dont happen to have an upload of that or might be able to give some tips on replacement procedure? thanks brother!!!
@@Lovetolivetruely water pumps can fail by freewheeling, impeller can degrade, bearing can whine loudly or roar. Removal, you can try 2 wrenches on opposing bolts. Wedging a screw driver between 2 bolts. There's also lots of tools to support and hold the water pump pulley or adjustable one that clamp onto the bolts.
Any idea on the torque specs for the water pump or did you just run em till you felt they were tight
its 89 in/lbs or ~7.5 ft/lbs also the bolts should be replaced with the water pump as they aren't supposed to be reused
Great video, and good instructions. Tks..
How did you clean off the housing/base? The black film is really a pain to come off. I only have a few spots that are clean to the chrome.
You made that look easy

How could you tell if that pump was bad other than the leakage?
Mine spins pretty easy so I'm thinking it's bad.
Also I don't have an impact but did you say there's a way to wedge a screwdriver in the pulley to loosen the bolts?

@@partsshooter Thank you for a speedy reply.... That really helps.....
Thank you Jesus!! Wait will this work the same way on a 3.6 engine for a 2010 Camaro!?
The water pumps have the same part numbers.... I can't guarantee the exact same process
