WHAT CAUSES THE SEAL IN A WATER PUMP TO FAIL IS A BAD BEARING WHERE THE SHAFT WOBBLES AND EXPANDS AND WEARS OUT THE SEAL.. THAT'S WHY YOUR SEAL GOES BAD USUALLY ON ANY PIECE OF MACHINERY. IT DOESN'T NECESSARILY MEAN IT HAS TO BE A WATER PUMP.

Ok, I have a 94 Honda Civic. Car would run fine no problem at all. But if would overheat when I would be at a light or stop sign. As soon as I started to give it gas it would go back to normal. Changed my thermostat, radiator, radiator cap, and temperature sensor. It fixed all my problems for about a month. And then boom my car overheated again and my car now shakes crazy when turned on and has a lot of smoke coming out and it smells like straight gasoline. So a mechanic friend of mine took a look at it and said it’s either a blown head gasket or something internal in the engine. So hopefully yours is just the temperature sensor, should be near the thermostat. If not could be a problem with the head gasket? Don’t know as I’m not a mechanic. One tip tho, when your car is cold get a water bottle and dump half of the water out. Make sure the bottle is clear. Get the small hose that is from ur extra antifreeze compartment and stick it into the water bottle. Now u want to turn on the car and keep the water bottle on top of the radiator making the bottle the highest point of where the antifreeze would go. If you see the hose making bubbles could mean a bad head gasket. I think there’s also a kit to check ur head gasket. It’s like a pumping container you put on top of ur antifreeze cap, and you fill it with blue liquid. You then pump the container and if the blue liquid turns blue , boom blown head gasket. This kit was mentioned in CHRISFIX head gasket sealant video.

Can a over tightened power steering belt ruin a new water pump? thanks in advance great vid.
Depending on the model. Most have tensioners that provide that. The Tensioner makes it a can of corn to replace the serpentine belt. All you need is a 1/2 breaker bar. Can of corn. It floors me how much they charge to replace it. Takes like 5 minutes. 4 of it will be spent drinking your beer.
I have a 06 Toyota solara 224 k miles barely replacing the water pump
Where should the repo be on a 2006 CTS 2.8 Cadillac water pump
