Katie! I learned so much about how to operate my TG5 from watching this video. I love your calmness in explaining how you go about set up and your enthusiasm for this style of photography. thank you
Quite okay information. Good job. But please check your manual on page 237 (TG7 - EN version, I assume it's the same for TG5 and TG6, maybe on different page) - "Do not use flash" with LG-1 LED light guide. Actually the LG-1 blocks out the flash, and you risk burning / spoiling the flash.
I use TG6 nunderwater, scuba, in Macro it is amazing. Yes I have friends with 5000+$ rigs who can equal it or occasionally better it. However they had to set up that rig for macro AND it could only shoot Macro, if a Manta ray swum by they were buggered. With a TG6 I can do Wide, macro, Microscope all on the same dive still or video.
Thanks so much. I couldn't figure out how to stop my Olympus from taking 10 photos at a time, while in macro. Brackets ----- I somehow had that on. You have saved me so much future frustration. I take lots of macro shots and had to keep choosing the clearest shot out of 10, and deleting all the blurry ones. Time consuming and annoying. Got it down, now. Also: Great tip about the LED diffuser unit. Thank you thank you. (Keep on buggin'.)
Thanks for the video. I had no problem hearing what you were saying but I used an extra speaker. That said, I prefer no added music or sound effects. But that's me. I bought my TG5 almost a year ago because I love macro photography but I am too lazy to work with stacking. So when I read about TG5 I thought that is what I need. I wish manuals were not so boring! I will watch more RUclips videos for instructions so I can get started. BTW - Last year I was punished for not learning how my new camera works. I was in Spain on a tour with a catamaran. Suddenly we were surrounded by dolphins. I started filming with my TG5. Or I thought I did. Only got a few stills :(
Thank you Katie! Those are exactly the instructions I am looking for =) I am an ecologist and got the camera to see more of our wonderful natural world
Katie. Thanks for sharing your experience and macro photography tips. I really enjoy your images and love for creating them. It's a lifetime of exploration!
Thank you very much! I still use this camera years later! I actually got the newest model and it worked exactly the same, but unfortunately, I lost it! This is a great camera to have fun with in the bug world and I published a book using pictures I took with the TG5 and TG6: Bugs of Oregon: Macro Photography of Willamette Valley
Good video -- thanks! Audio levels are fine, by the way. For the life of me, I can't seem to get my TG-6 to focus when objects are too close (like less than an inch near the lens), regardless of zoom levels. Not sure if it's the camera itself or the lack of personal skills...
sometimes that'll happen so I'll put my finger very close to focus on my finger print before moving on to the bugs. Also, try pushing the capture button but not all the way so it just goes part way down and makes high-pitch noise. once it's focussed than take the picture
Yup, I still do! But not so much lately. Can’t wait until winter is over because all the bugs are still sleeping. I’ll be out taking pics the first signs of spring!!
The comments on the audio are interesting. I, like many others, could not hear your voice very well, but the music was loud. Others, could hear just fine. Hmmm...I wonder what settings to change on my mac to allow me to hear since it seems to be an individual settings problem?
I would like to say your video was good but it was horrible. You speak so softly that I could hardly hear what you were saying, especially over that incredibly irritating background music. Try listening to it yourself before you post.
Well done young lady.
You taught an old dog new tricks.
Great content.
Thanks Katie really helpful.
Thank you, Katie ❤ For your explanation. It’s indeed a great camera 👍🙏with a lot of possibilities.

"Your backyard is a macro jungle". I love this.

The breathing tip is good!

I'm a professional photographer, and I just got a TG. I found this video very helpful, informative and enjoyable. Well done.

Hi Ian, I just got my tg-6 with SeaFrogs housing and can't wait to take it diving. What do your underwater pictures look like?
Great tips. Thanks! I’m thinking about getting the TG. Do you still shoot with this camera?

Awesome
Great informative video, keep up the great work 😀

Hi Katie is it possible to take a macro video while the LED flash is on? I have a TG5 and the flash turns off once i press record for video.. Thanks
Im still trying to tame my 4 ducks...
Im thinking of getting the TG6.
Good video -- thanks! Audio levels are fine, by the way.

Love your photos :)
Thank you! I’ve taken literally 20,000 more since then! Will make another video soon! Any suggestions?
😊✌️
Katie Hunter hmm Just shoot what you feel is beauty 😊 You did lovely photos !
Молодец! Отличная работа!
Спасибо!
Your so cool :) Loved your video..I'm thinking of maybe getting this camera 😊Do you still use it and like it ?
Yup, I still do! But not so much lately. Can’t wait until winter is over because all the bugs are still sleeping. I’ll be out taking pics the first signs of spring!!
Thank you! And yes! I still love it! Even braught it to Hawaii a couple years ago and went snorkeling with it!
Great video! Keep it coming more, thank you ;-)
Very good video!
Thank you very much! I've filmed more and will upload soon :)
@tyvek05 On my computer I can hear the music but her voice is drowned out almost to nothing.
Next time I won’t use music just to be sure 😊
You're cute by the way. 🙂 Keep talking

Arrgghhh. The "bracketing" thing is back. PLEASE HELP. I don't need 10 photos at a time of one closeup. If you read this, Katie ----- HELP me, PLEASE.
I found the video hard to hear, voice too soft and background music overloaded my hearing so I couldn't hear the voice, and was not needed.
Your audio volume is far too low.
Have a hard time hearing what you say, because music is too (TOO) loud. Pity cause you seem to do nice things with the camera
Oh no! Won’t happen again! That was my first video so I was ultra new to iMovie.
Also, try watching it on another device, I have no trouble hearing it on my TV
