    I’ve been on eliquis for 11 years. No side effects. No strokes no clots.

    • @johnkemas7344
      @johnkemas7344 6 месяцев назад +3

      I've had no problems so far other than the Thrombocytopenia and it certainly beats Coumadin/Warfarin and all the tests. I reduced my Eliquis dosage at one point to 25% of recommended dosage as an "unapproved by my doctor test" and my platelette count did come way back up to about 80% or normal. I then took the dosage up to 1/2 recommended daily dosage and the plateletter count sagged again to about 60% of normal, which the tell me is ok so I left it there.
      If they (Doctors) told you the truth all the time people would start to question why they are paying absurdly high medical costs for such shabby service and performance. After all, if you had your plumber come in to fix leaky pipes but he told you he couldn't fix the leaks, you sure as hell wouldn't pay him, would you?

    This stuff can kill you. I'm sure it is a good thing for some folks, but it can cause terrible side effects. After six weeks I stopped taking it.I spent 5 days in hospital twice. Side effects lasted for over 3 months, including nosebleed, anemia (no blood cell production), problems eliminating, thrush(horrible), no appetite. Drs could find no reason for anemia after extensive tests(bone marrow biopsy), and sent me home three months ago on Hospice care to die.I'm almost fully recovered now. I'm 81, and holding on well. Be careful!

    You didn't mention a side effect of Eliquis that is Thromocytopenia or low platelette count. I have this condition and not one of my doctors including my Hemotologist will acknowledge this condition can be caused by Eliquis which I take. Even though medical studies now indicate it is possible and does happen. I have major joint arthritic pain and now a case of shin splints that are very painful. My doctors tell me to take NSAIDS to reduce the inflammation until I remind them I am on Eliquis and they shut up and have no suggestions other than hot and cold compresses. But they still take my money!!
    I'm temped to go back on Aspirin and treat the pain and just quit the Eliquis. After all Aspirin was used for years to prevent blood clots successfully. Why not now? and the answer is ....... Eliquis is a lot more profitable that Aspirin and makes the companies selling these blood thinners a lot more money!! Mean time we older people suffer in pain because of a poor and financially corrupted pharmaceutical system.

      I have been on Eliquis for 7 months now, and I have muscle and joint pain that I think is due to the Eliquis!! The makers of Eliquis say that it should not cause muscle and joint pain, but if you Google "side effects of Eliquis in the elderly" (I am 70), the 1st thing mentioned under "Major side effects of Eliquis in the elderly" is MUSCLE AND JOINT PAIN!!! I can hardly use my left hand anymore; I have great difficulty in bending my fingers (3 of my fingers on my left hand I can bend about halfway, or less, toward my palm); so my left hand is almost crippled; my left wrist feels like it is broken; I have to be very careful; if I turn my hand a certain way, I can go from "0" pain to a "9.5" ... INSTANTLY!! I immediately grab my hand/ wrist and it takes about 30 seconds for the pain to subside!! NO FUN!!!!! I had an apptmt scheduled with a orthopedic wrist Dr. but had to cancel; I need to reschedule.

      @beatsandwaves8156 Год назад +1

      @@joannasisemore7184 According to medical literature, Eliquis can cause spontaneous intra cranial bleeding at any time, regardless of head trauma. • @joannasisemore7184
      @joannasisemore7184 Год назад +2

      if i need a lifesaving operation they will give me andexxa. the spontaneous bleed is far rarer than that which occurs with trauma. people over 80 and in latin america and asian countries have the highest incedents of bleeds. right now i face a much higher risk of strokes and blood clots so eliquis is my choice. if warfarin was my only choice it would be a more difficult decision. the bleeding issue is much higher and the constant blood work along with dietary restrictions would make blood thinning more complicated. also bleeding is less profuse with eliquis. ( you mean anti coagulants btw)

       Dear Joanna, if you don't know, please note that the reversal agent andexxa is so outragiously expensive, about $10,540 for 4 powder injections, that most hospitals do not have it for patients needing it. I know APIXABAN is a must for her, if Pantoprazole is not a must to go with APIXABAN, I will get rid of Pantoprazole, because I doubting it causes her dizzy, abdominal pain, fatigue and fractures. I have mild but medication controllable AFIB. When I started taking the Eliquis my platelette count dropped from 158,000 to 35,000 in about 2 months and my Spleen enlarged 50%. (Thrombocytopenia) I had every test they could think of (Cardiologist, PCP, Hematologist and a Gastroenterologist) and not one of them suggested the Eliquis could be doing it.
      After doing my own research I discovered the condition is known to be caused by both Eliquis and Xyrelto from studies done.. They all told me they had never heard that before - what load of bull. My PCP's PA told me she knew about it. So I asked about reducing the dosage and I got the same crap. No you have to take the full dosage to be effective.
      So I quit taking it for 3 months and the platelette count almost came back to normal quickly on my next blood test. My doctor was baffled! I didn't tell him I had quit taking it. So I went back on it again at 1/2 recommended dosage and my platelettes dropped quite a bit again over the next three months. Next physical I told him about my experiment and he had nothing to say, and walked out of the room with no comments.
      I have never trusted big pharma, and when the second Moderna Covid shot made me really sick and I later got Covid anyway I never trust them for any reason. As for my doctors, they are all in cahoots with pharma. Why tell you the truth when their practices can send you out for all kinds of expensive lab tests. For years most people have been sure their doctors get commission checks for pushing certain brands of drugs, and now i have doubts at all.

      Fish oil is a natural blood thinner, so it may slightly increase your risk for bleeding if combined with Eliquis. Best to check with your doctor first. All the best.

    Does Eliquis cause tingling sensation in your legs?

    • @twrcrew8852
      @twrcrew8852 3 года назад +3

      no, but damaged veins and blood clots will cause it to tingle when you go from pinching off circulation to recieving fresh blood flow in situations such as sitting down and getting up, crossing legs, resting and then walking. etc. keep in mind that this sensation happens with a general cut off of blood circulation, even without clots. such as when feet fall asleep.

    • @twrcrew8852
      @twrcrew8852 3 года назад +5

      if you had a blood clot and just started taking these, the tingling could be blood flowing more than it has for a long time to those areas now that the blood is slowly erroding the obstructions.

      @@zachary9201 you are correct. DOACs do not thin blood, they eliminate an element of the clotting cascade (or rather retard it/hinder it) - with the intent being it is to a point where clotting stops building uncontrollably and natural forces within the body will begin breaking down what is currently there.
