If you have chronic constipation this medication works so well. I use to have terrible stomach pain from constipation. I even broke down and went to the ER it got so bad. Ever since I’ve been taking Linzess no more issues. It does sometimes give me stomach cramps and diarrhea but I’ll take that over constipation any day

I just took my first dose of the 145m g of Linzess and am praying that it works well for me. I don't want diarrhea, but I have had a horrible time with constipation the past few months. I'm curious how other patients are doing on this medication.
Yeah the constipation gets to the point that you’ll deal with the diarrhea

I have been taking Linzess for 9 years & am looking to try Low FODMAPs Diet or Carnivore Diet, both have helped people with IBS. This is because I am on the current strongest dose and will tell you that I still sometimes experience severe constipation even though drink 96 oz of water a day, it overweight & exercise daily. That and the current cost of Linzess is 240.00 per month, yes you read that correctly. Linzess was suppose to be available now as a generic but the makers decided their drug needed specialized handling for generic production so they were able to add five more years to the patent. Those two last issues are what have me seeking an alternative fix for the IBS instead of just taking care of symptoms. I ‘m done shelling out the $$$!
Worked well for me! I found 145 every other day was best. I have heard that for some people it stops working after a few years. Perhaps a break from it periodically is advisable.

290mcg for me every other day for past 3 months seems to be helping some, but the rx is ghastly expensive, over $1k

I was sprayed on my ass deliberately by my employer and suffered trauma to my rectum. I found out that I had hemorrhoids and the chemical inflamed them and caused severe constipation. I used suppositories for 3 months to reduce hemorrhoids. I was denied workers comp due to pre existing condition, despite never having GI problems ever ! It’s been over a year now and I still ill take Linzess daily and get anorectal pelvic floor therapy weekly. Shock me internally. Linzess is what keeps me from going nuts everyday.

Please tell me when to take this terribly expensive medicine when laxatives do not help. but there are very strong laxatives that I bought before colon therapy and they are very cheap. I don’t understand what advantage this drug has over laxatives?
My DR.also put me on miralax and Linzess, I don’t know what it will do as I have only taken Linzess for 2 weeks. Are the side effects really bad?
Hello, do you drink alcoholic beverages or anyone who does will it upset my stomach while drinking ?
How long does it take for Linzess to work? and do you know if you can take milk of magnesia waiting for this to work?
I have been on linzess for 2 years no. Minimum pain which is life changing for me. I only have diarrhea occasional but only for maybe one day. No conclusions on why my bm changed to being constipated but at least I can treat the sever discomfort it was causing. Highly recommend

I would also add I'm able to have a bm daily and that is a solid plus. But people need to stay hydrated while on this medication. I definitely see a difference if I am not as hydrated.
My gi prescribed the 290mg and i have to start taking it but he has me doing miralax 3-4 day. Do i need to stop taking mirilax with this?
WHY are so many of us suffering with severe constipation ?
Is it good for medication (opiate) induced constipation? My doctor tried to prescribe it to me but my insurance denied it
You have to keep asking and they can get it done. They did for me.

It works great for me but does anyone get a splitting headache from it? Only side effect I hate.

The side effects are what I already have even without taking Linzess, but no doctor has figured out what exactly I have wrong with me yet 😕(in my upper abdomen I have a hard feeling it lies between under my rib cage both left and right side, I feel it constant for 7 months now). I poop daily and have bloating/abdominal discomfort/upper right blade pain and fullness feeling (no appetite, but no weight loss). If anyone has an idea or opinion about my issue, I’d love to know
I am currently going through that, it's frustrating and I'm honestly very concerned. I've gone to the GI doctor and gave me linzess for constipation but that nodded feeling on the upper part pf my abdomen hasn't gone away. I've also found that linzess works for me during the first few hours but during the day I go back to constipation again. Have you found out what's wrong? I really hope you feel better
@@valvs514 no they have yet to see what i have and i still feel the same. A friend of mine recommends that I get an allergy test done to see if their is something in my diet causing my digestion issues. My GI has me to get a endoscopy done to see if they can notice any abnormalities that i am describing. I'm sorry to hear your experiencing a similar issue. Oh i just remembered do you take any probiotics? it won't solve the constipation all the way but it helps to regulate more (and you don't need a prescription for it, i take align now) your metabolism.

@@skullkrush3723 its officially been a year and i still have it. I had an endoscopy done and they did find that i have swelling in my esophagus tissue (so much so its a bump i feel on the outside). They prescribed me Protonix (a Proton pump inhibitor) for 90 days however the med has really bad side effects and i had to stop it because it was causing me heart problems...it also didn't decrease the bump so who knows if Gastritis was even the issue... BUT i'd day if you have a similar issue try to ask for an endoscopy to be done or a hiatal scan. Best of luck Skullrush37🙏

How long should you take linzess? It’s not bad for your liver and kidney?
I was given samples by my doctor and they are 290 mcg but I think there to strong. They make a 75 mcg that would probably be better for me
@Carolina1 You know what!, I said that exact same thing just yesterday while talking to my dad. It's gotten to where doctors act like they don't want to help you even when they know your in pain. I've had eleven back surgeries and I have a pain pump in my stomach and the other day I asked my doctor if he could give me something for pain and all I got was a dirty look! They just don't care!

I just got home from my colonoscopy about an hour ago and my doctor said I have cancer. He already called a surgeon for me to get in as soon as possible because he said I was advanced possibly stage four, I couldn't hold my tears back. I just lost it.

Horrible linzess
This gives me loose bowels so I can't take it when going to work. Took it twice and nearly s$$t myself at work😂😂😂😂. Hell no! Cant take this daily and definitely not in the morning. This morning (Saturday) I decided to take it, 4th time to the toilet. I definitely can't take this if I am going on the road. It works very quickly; within an hour you will be going to the restroom. I wont be taking anymore of it.
To add, they are very expensive! 3 months supplies is $1900 without insurance.
Makes u lose bowel control after a while😢
Side effects are 💩🌈🚽🌞
