Belle réalisation sobre mais efficace j'ai rajouté aussi sur la GTI perf un catch cam pour récupérer les vapeurs d'huile qui évite l'encrassement du conduit d'admission et les soupapes 😅
I’ve gotten pulled off the track because of oil shooting through my pcv making a huge puff of smoke. I used to have a BMS catch can and I removed it, since it wasn’t catching any oil. Now on the mk8, the pcv is so much more advanced that hopefully it is no longer an issue.
Do you have the link to the clutch? Also, do you have the Unitronic Stage 2+ Overrun file? Can’t get rid of the burbles in ECO mode like you… Great overview of the car and mods !
No. I dyno'd it on the IS20, but never on the IS38... the dyno broke on my dyno day and i never bothered to do it again since i was caught up with life
Is the splitter on marketplace? looks like you are in the Halifax area from looking at the video? I am running the TCR muffler and it is louder than I thought.
The tcr muffler is louder weirdly with smaller down pipes.. I had one and sold it and then bought a second. It was an awesome combo with the 4” trackslag and a second resonator… but had drone with a 3” weirdly… ended out getting rid of the second one anticipating a new car. It is hard to get the combo right.
Here are all the parts that I haven't sold yet that are all on marketplace.. TCR Front Splitter Diffuser (all 7 parts to install), Wagner Intercooler, OEM Black Mirror Caps, Front and Rear H&R Swaybars, Bilstein B16 Coilovers, Superpro Front Swaybar End links, Superpro camber mounts, Fluidampr crank pully, BFI Stage 1 motor mounts.
Definitely should’ve went to EQT, otherwise solid asf. I’m stage 1+ with EQT. Gonna go is38 maybe the top of next year or the holiday season this year. 19 GLI.
Yeah the issue is that eqt did not have competitive offerings for Canadian gas at the time and stopped supporting Catless Downpipes. Tunezilla seems to be an awesome option without many compromises.
@@VWTalkwell that makes sense. What wheels are those? I gotta get away from my black on black setup and will switch to gunmetal or close to it. That setup is clean. If you said it i missed it…taking my hazmat course while i watch this lol
Hey Alex, I used 001422.999502G. You can order this directly from Sachs Performance in Germany, and it is the cheapest option even when importing. I wouldn’t buy from a third party. If you email sachs they will happily double check that you are getting the right part number since there are a few revisions.
Hey. The taillights I bought from eBay. I just checked and the listing is no longer available. I’d suggest buying from e-acca, that’s where I bought my mk8 euro tails. Go through mk6ix for your harness.
I sold the TCR muffler. I do still have a few parts left, the most interesting being the tcr splitter, but the TCR muffler has been gone for a year. It was just so loud, and by the time I had an exhaust combination I liked I had put a deposit for a new car lol.
I feel like most owners as myself like to upgrade after they go fbo. The cars a super fun build until 400 hp then most people just wanna upgrade so they don’t have to risk there block.
@@CrimpKeeper the cars are fun but they are dull at the same time they do everything good but aren’t great at one thing. I’ve had mine for few years stock finally going to start modding it as my warranty is almost over. Personally if u don’t care about fastest car in the world with a good daily use with some pep you should. Take this over a lot of cars now days specially anything with small displacement engine like 1.5 engine . Love they kept 2.0 engines
I don’t regret it because the GTI was coming up on 6 years and I left the turbo and downpipe on (and tune) as well as SuperPro bushings, maybe $2500 of mods, and sold the car for $300 less than it cost brand new including the 15% sales tax. It cost me $2500 over 5.5 years to drive the car, so to get into something with 0km was a no brainer. I sold off most mods for a very good price and now some of the mods I disliked I am not redoing. The 8R is more aggressive and better in every way, traction wise in Canada it’s often that I was in spin city with the gti. I have the R stage 2’d and I’m in love with it. Now with that said with a GTI done up like this it is so fun and I didn’t have a chance to fully enjoy it since it was only a year that the car had every single mod. Had I only been able to trade in the GTI, which I expect would have been the case in the current market, and maybe recovered 1/2 to 2/3 of the original price, then I definitely would have regret the update. This car was crazy capable when I dismantled it and I miss it a lot, but 470hp out of the evo4 stage 2 and a rear diff that gets the rear end out shuts me up quick.
@VWTalk yeah, my comment was more a nod to your extensive & considered build followed by a weak pun...the 8r does almost everything better & now less of a one trick pony than previous generations. Does the rear diff cope well with the hp increase? Or does it operate independent to increased hp/tq? As swb I imagine the latter..?
a tuner company will only ever give you recommendations and not a in stone awnser to cover their butt of liability, u spent some unneeded money to get that power. 15k in mods for an is38 build is a bit much.
@EastDallasKicks is38 all u need is plugs, intake, intercooler, inlet elbow, and a downpipe. Clutch if your mt. My build current. Cat back 1k, intake 350, twin cooler ic 300$, got a decent deal on in inlet elbow and turbo muff delete for 100$, my arm dp is gonna be 670$ and the dkm stg2 clutch im gonna run is 1500. This is canadian dollors too. If u fish for the deals and do the labor your self 5-6k is easily doable. Im a auto tech where in the last week ive watched loke 3 or 4 turbo swaps.lol so im hoping to luck in on someones dead is38 off an r to get rebuilt.
If you have a built engine with crazy power goals, no it’s not a scam… For the average user…. With a stage 2 tune… there are other mods that are worth the money. The way fluidampr markets it, and third parties market the device, to me, yeah it’s a scam. It was not worth the money I paid.
Such a clean GTI build!
