It really captures the essence of what the iPad was initially designed for; the iPad wasn’t supposed to be a laptop replacement, it was supposed to be a fun middle ground between a phone and iPad designed for fun, since phones were too small to game with and MacBooks have been designed with productivity in mind over gaming. My iPad mini 2 still runs great with streaming and email. Some apps refused to be installed there because of obsolescence. Some old ones broke after I was urged to update them, thus I stopped updating my old apps. If they specifically stop working then I removed them.
I got my first mini in 2014 I believe. I have upgraded it twice and currently have the latest version. It is the absolute best device . It’s bigger than a phone and great for streaming and videos, but it’s small enough to fit in my jacket pocket. It’s the perfect sweet spot. Super easy to use when sitting or lying down and not heavy at all. I wish it were around for the first 40 years of my life!

I sold my regular iPad 7th gen so I could buy the Mini 6 and it was the best decision I've made. It's perfect for consuming media (esp. because I have the iPhone 13 mini which is def not great for that) and the note-taking functionality is amazing. There are so many use cases in my daily life that I'm genuinely not even concerned about the future generation iPads unless I do something stupid and break mine. As a typically Android user, I am still surprised by how much I enjoy using my iPad and having the small iPhone. Highly recommend!
This machine is superb. My daily-to-go device from taking notes during meeting, replying email, studying and watching movie at night. Im happy with it. Battery life is excellent. No lag during multitask thanks to chipset A15 bionic. If they released ipad mini 7 with 120hz refresh rate, i would definitely buy it.
I constantly feel like I went overboard getting the Mini when I already have the 5th gen Air… BUT, I swear I love having them both so much for different uses and scenarios.
Just picked up the mini this week. Still trying to get used to it. Very light and great to carry around the house but unhappy it doesn't have stage manager.
Ipad mini is an awesome device i use mine all the time , it can be held comfortably in one hand even with my hand on the back of my device . It also fits well on to an aircraft meal tray for watching flicks during a flight . My wish for the ipad 7 is a 512gb version as the current maximum 256 is rapidely becoming insufficient.
My wife had a mini 5 for two years. She uses it every day for surfing the web, emailing, texting and reading books. We just got her a 6. When she found out the pencil works with it, she wanted that too. She loves the size. My son had the 9 inch iPad (regular) and I have a 12.9 inch. We’ve always had a 9 inch and she rarely ever used it. The mini size factor made 100% of the difference. Since the 7 is likely next year, we decided to get the 6 now. Nixed my iPhone 8 years ago for an iPad mini and haven’t looked back. I do everything on my mini. I live in Tokyo and it is a great size on the train. Through Skype I have a US number and a Japanese number. It fits perfectly in my shoulder bag and I listen and make calls wirelessly. I have had this mini for almost 7 years!… and it is still great. I will never own another iPhone again. Arigato!
As an Apple fan, i've been weighing on getting the next Ipad Mini. Just bought the Samsung S9 tablet instead. Everything i need. Good form factor. Fits into my Slingbag for casual everyday carry. Comes with S pen and nice slim keyboard. fantastic pen placement so you wont lose it easily. Pen writes better than Apple pencil without having to buy paperlike screen protector. Glorious screen - OLED . Everything we wished the next Ipad Mini to be. I reckon Ipad Mini 7 will likely fall short. The S9 has got good accessories I would eventually get eg privacy screen
I use Goodnotes with PDF templates I made for work notes. I was using iPad air 4, but went to the mini 6 and i love the smaller screen size for note taking. I eventually got a non-apple brand case with slot for the apple pencil, and that is not nearly as 'too big' as I thought it might be. I now don't have to dig around in my bag for the pencil. If one has need for smaller form factor, the iPad mini is something to consider for sure.
@@avengersana For my work notes, the mini 6 is best - I think of it as pinch/zooming a big dry erase board of notes. The smaller size works better for my particular work flow/desk space.
@commissary4196 (this may be a dup reply, YT is being slow!). I got the KingBlanc case w/ Apple pencil holder. It's got a Velcro strap closer that works great. Keeps the iPad secure in my bag with the pencil.
I got the iPad mini 4 in 2017, and I loved it for so long; at the moment, I have the Air 5, but the mini lasted me through several years of school, and it was an incredible little device, I loved it.
I use the iPad Mini when im at home between social media and texting and reading the news while my phone charges. I do have a Pro Max iPhone btw to note. Having that bigger display is very nice plus the lightweight material makes it fun.
I’ve been using my iPad Mini as my secondary productivity device since March of 2022, and I’m absolutely loving it! It never ceases to amaze me how productive I can be on the go with it, and I don’t always need to worry about carrying my laptop around everywhere. My iPad Mini fits quite nicely in my purse, along with the external keyboard I use, and when I need to do any productivity related tasks on the go, I can just whip out my iPad Mini, connect it to my personal hotspot and bingo. And speaking of typing, I totally get where you’re coming from when it comes to using an external keyboard. However, for me as a person who is totally blind, I rely very heavily on an external keyboard for typing and for navigating using the VoiceOver screen reader, so my use case is a bit different from that of a sighted user in that regard. I love that the iPad makes use of a lot of keyboard shortcuts, not just for screen reader navigation, but in a lot of native and third party apps as well. If you’re going to be doing a lot of typing on the iPad, I would recommend the Logitech K480 keyboard as it’s small enough to fit in a purse or backpack, and yet super comfortable to type on. I also have the Logitech Keys2Go, but I find the K380 has a better typing experience, and plus it connects to three devices at a time. This being said, I wouldn’t say that the iPad Mini is a full fledged replacement for my MacBook Air, however it does make a phenomenal replacement for ridiculously over-priced specialized notetaking devices for blind users, so it’s definitely a plus there. Yay for mainstream devices with accessibility right out of the box!
I have a pro 12.9 and a mini 6. My mini 6 when I work from home i am never on my phone, it’s my iPads non stop. It completely replaces my phone for so much
Would love a mini pro which does have the top of the line internals! That being said, I LOVE my Mini! Use it all the time, especially in the car! And I do kind of use it as an iphone replacement for pretty much everything except the camera.
I’ve had a mini for years now as a backup for my iPhone. It’s used daily. Having broken a few of them over the years I literally panic without one. So handy to have a second device to stay connected and I have never needed a whole lot of storage and mainly use mine for streaming/entertainment and/or shopping so I usually just go with the basics so even a 64g mini is far more than I’ve grown used to being constrained too since I started out with the paltry 2,4 and 6g mini’s. 64g is kind of a luxury already for us old skool users! Lol! My last tablet I had to downgrade to the more affordable Samsung when I finally broke my iPad mini 4 so I went with a basic Samsung package and right out of the box I have never been so disappointed with a device. Despite only needing a basic tablet for the things I use it for its easy to forget just how fast the better chip is in the iPad mini’s. And boy did I get used to having a speedy tablet. It feels like a goddamn eternity just waiting for a basic Samsung tablet to power up let alone just how slow it is simply loading content! Didn’t bother me one but when I finally ended up accidentally dropping it and breaking the screen cause it was just the excuse I needed to be forced into purchasing a new iPad mini 6 to replace it! Lol! Just pulled the trigger on a new mini 6 and I am so looking forward to receiving it and for the faster chip. It will be heavenly after dealing with this piece of crap Samsung for the last 2 or 3 years! I won’t make that mistake again!
@@whosptoly I bought it 2 years ago so whatever version was out at that time. I bought the most basic offering. It was only $200. Piece of crap. Slow as hell too! Very frustrating. Takes almost 3 minutes just to power up. Lol!
Love my ipad mini! An amazing hybrid between multiple devices. Use it all day, everyday. RUclips, note taking, client meetings, zooms, Football Manager, movies, a bit of on the go website and photo editing 👌
If they could just make an iPad Pro in 3 sizes, and give users the lower end Mini and a high-end mini as options, I'd be much more inclined to get the mini for on-the-go usecases.
I got the iPad about 6 month ago, I gave my about 10 year old iPad mini to my grand son to watch Disney (he’s 3 years old). Apple is so good at supporting iPads a long time.
Watching this on my new iPad Mini 6. Not a fan of Apple Pencil but i love everything else. Easy to hold, great for navigation when driving, reading books, magazines and newspapers. Excellent for RUclips and other content consumption. Screen is really nice(have matte tempered glass screen protector). Now part of my EDC
I have considered this for a travel tool. I am traveling to SE Asia a lot and want something smaller than my iPad Pro. I’m also considering buying the cell enabled unit to use as a mobile device rather than suffering Verizon’s $10 a day charge on my IPhone. I will probably wait until closer to my next trip in November in hopes that Gen 7 will release
I would pay more for more specs for the mini. The standard iPad is better for kids. I feel the mini is better for adults with a certain niche requirement for portability, one-hand hold note taking and pro tech requirements.
I still use my iPad mini 5 with A12. It’s the last one with a Touch ID Home button. I like having Home button and related wider bezel (along narrow sides) to make easier to hold and not touch screen by mistake. The older A12 provides excellent performance with apps I use, it works with my 1st gen Apple Pencil, screen is fine… I’ll keep using it as long as possible. It must still be popular because Apple will give me $165 trade-in for it (base storage with cellular), which has actually gone UP.
I'm glad you posted this--I have a 5 (also a 12.9 pro and have had a Pro since the 12.9 came out) and hadn't thought about the bezels--but that to me too is a plus since I use it a lot as a reader in bed. I also use as a notepad and wish I could use Pencil 2 (and it had USBC), but I do have a 1 and just have to remember to charge it. I also checked the other day on trade in--and too got $165--so its worth that to me too LOL. I'll just hang onto it--I was thinking maybe buying a 6 or wait for a 7--but you reminded me why I bought the 5 to begin with and its plus.
i got the ipad pro 12.9 solely for its screensize and semi-laptop replacement option to study. i liked the screen real estate and the ability to scroll, but also retaining that "laptop" essence and quite portable in my work bag as well. i like the display way better on the pro as well. but i can see this as a good iphone extension and a good all around portable device for every day needs
I recently upgraded my min 5 to the mini 6 and I love it. I also have an iPad Pro but spend most of my time on the mini. Brilliant for when travelling.
I'm very happy with my iPad Mini (5th generation). The only thing I'd like to change is the Touch ID but, other than that, it does everything I need a tablet/computer to do. Thanks for the video!
ive had it since day 1 and basically got rid of my phone..i use a skype number and google voice for communication have it with tmobile lte and basically take it with me wherever i go so I do get it lol...i dont really use a phone much so it works great for me
Just picked up a Target Certified Refurbished iPad Mini 6 Wifi+Cellular 256GB for $517. iPad mini 7 on the horizon be damned, the price was just too good to pass up. It’ll be my first mini iPad since 2013 and I’m looking back to getting one in my hands again!
Hi Lee. It’s great to see your premises in detail with all the great customer focused facilities. I especially noticed the Audiolab set up at the end. It looks great in a purpose built rack. I know now I need to pop down to have a good look around. Great insight. Thanks.
Ipad mini 256 with cellular is about $800. Only 60htz. IPhone 15 512 is around 1200. I'll keep my galaxy z fold 5 for $1800 512 120 htz and with dex I get a decent desktop too. And it all folds and fits in my pocket.
The iPad Mini 7 won't have a better display as ProMotion and mini-led are still Pro iPad exclusives. Even the 11 inch iPad Pro doesn't have mini-led yet, never mind the Mini. The biggest leakers like Ross Young said there won't be an upgrade to the display. They may simply address the jelly scrolling by switching the module so that it only happens in landscape mode like all other 60hz tablets. The only upgrades will be an A17 chip, better 5G, upgraded 128gb storage, and battery battery life from the 3nm chip. There also won't be thinner bezels. The upgraded storage to 128gb and the A17 chip, while keeping the same price, will be enough to convince iPad Mini 6 owners with 64GB models to upgrade. The iPad 6 redesign us too recent to see any major upgrades
I bought the Mini and could not get used to the small screen. I had a PRO and sold it for the Mini. Before you buy one of these make sure you're ok with a small screen. I sold my Mini for an Air 4. Live and learn. In the end this cost me about $200. I should have kept my PRO. Live and learn.:(
I've used an iPad Pro for about 4 years as my main interface for almost all of my tedious office work, Lightroom and even video edits. I first had a foldable keyboard, but after some coffee damage switched to a keyboard case. The keyboard case is obviously better, but not by that much. Now, when I had to purchase a MB pro for some work stuff, my next iPad will likely by a mini, and a foldable keyboard. That will suffice to most of my work stuff. And when it doesn't, I pull out the MB pro.
I’d love to have the newer one with the cellular option and 256GB. But.. the cost. At that point you end up buying an Air. These would be great for a backpacker in a otterbox defender. Good enough camera and cellular connectivity means you’d have a communication device and music and movies. That sounds cool to me.
I want an ipad mini to take with me in my purse- I have an 12 in ipad pro that I absolutely LOVE for home use alongside my computer workspace for notes/planning/art, but it's so cumbersome to take anywhere- plus having a macbook that's just about the same size, I just don't need something that hefty to take out and about with me. But I don't want to lose access completely to the apple pencil/goodnotes. I would use the mini SO much. I just wish they weren't so expensive, it's hard to justify having another device that I don't really NEED when they're still nearly $1000 for the size I'd want.
I absolutely love it with the apple pen. It's like a little notebook I always have with me + books, videos, all my notes, my calendar and everything I digitally need. :)
I got a mini for travelling - I have an 11” which I found a bit heavy when travelling. I wanted a device for backing up photos and surfing the net etc. I really liked it - and even when bit travelling I find I use it a lot in preference to my 11”
It can be a multitasking king if they bring stage manager or force apps to multitask like samsung Or horizontal multitasking in portrait mode Generally apple doesn't care about ipad mini
I have an IPad Air 5 and the iPad mini that are my current 8n use iPads and usually I use my IPad Air 5 but recently after travelling with my iPad mini on holiday I’ve continued using it afterwards and honestly I’ve enjoyed it more than I used to. I will definitely be going back to my larger screen soon for most of my home use but yeah I’m actually surprised by how much I haven’t felt like I need to switch back to the larger screen yet cause I used to really prefer the larger screen over the smaller one. I think what’s great with the minis is that they do offer a few of the more premium features- especially the newest one (like Apple Pencil support and a better screen).
Am I the only one that struggles to look at a lower resolution tablet after using my iPhone 15 pro max?? I wish it didn’t bother me so much bc I used to love the form factor of my iPad mini 2 😔
I use my iPad Air 5th gen (with cell service) all the time as well as my iPhone 14 Pro. I recently went to a MacBook Air M2 for my business and desktop personal uses. All are fantastic for their roles in my usage patterns. Had an early iPad Mini and loved it. Maybe time for a iPad Mini 7? I use the apple pencil with OneNote and Notes extensively. The mini seems perfect for that. Would not need cell service with hot spots on my phone and iPad Air nearby Thanks!
I have never understood why people want the huge iPad Pro 13". I absolutely love the iPad mini, the only reason I don't buy it is because it is outdated & the specs on the iPad Pro 11" are so much better. But with smaller tablets, the form factor is simply better. I wish Apple would make an "iPad Pro mini"
If you’re concerned about the price you should in fact wait as opposed to buy. As soon as the new version comes out the price of the existing version will drop.
I’m still over here rocking the iPad mini 4 😂. Unfortunately the battery life recently has shortened significantly and has me contemplating if I should buy a new one now or just wait for my 4 to completely die lol
Really great device, but I sold it because everytime I used it I felt like I could use my iphone or my macbook air instead. It took me five years to come to the fact that I don't need a third device
I really want to purchase the iPad mini, tho knowing me luck with apple, I'm afraid that if I purchase it, they'll soon announce a new version of it, so I'm waiting as long as I can to see if they'll refresh the iPad mini soon.

I won’t make that mistake again!
just curious, what samsung tab was it? 😮
I changed my iPad Pro 11 by iPad Mini 6 4G and could not be happier, this tablet is the ultimate portable device
I have the Pro and the Mini. They’re both iPads and neither is a laptop or phone extension. 😉
yeah apple sure does make sure it’s an “ipad” so it can’t replace a macbook or an iphone
Been waiting for ipad mini 7 to come out. I want the price cut when newer version comes out.
I want an iPad mini, but at this point I’m waiting for the 7.
I recently upgraded my min 5 to the mini 6 and I love it. I also have an iPad Pro but spend most of my time on the mini. Brilliant for when travelling.
My iPad mini is perfect for my purse. Love it
Got the M1 Air instead because I needed the screen real estate for school
I'm very happy with my iPad Mini (5th generation). The only thing I'd like to change is the Touch ID but, other than that, it does everything I need a tablet/computer to do.
Thanks for the video!
Got one for Christmas, and as an accountant I’ll be using this almost all day at my office lol
Using this for about 2 years now… as a phone. The iPad mini 7 will be my next one
ive had it since day 1 and basically got rid of my phone..i use a skype number and google voice for communication have it with tmobile lte and basically take it with me wherever i go so I do get it lol...i dont really use a phone much so it works great for me
Such a lovely review. My iPad Mini 6 should be coming in tomorrow!
That one is very Expensive device.
Yes I do want a iPad mini pro , I can’t stop thinking about a concept like that
Hi Lee. It’s great to see your premises in detail with all the great customer focused facilities. I especially noticed the Audiolab set up at the end. It looks great in a purpose built rack. I know now I need to pop down to have a good look around. Great insight. Thanks.
You should buy it even in 2024 ... I bought mine a year ago ... I looooooooooooove it
Best tab in the market. Just too perfect size and it feels awesome to hold.
Pro 11 inch user but have always wanted a mini… I’ll be tempted when the new one comes out
Best iPad mini review. I subscribed to YT and Newsletter. You communicate well! Voice is great too!
I want ipad mini 7 with m1 chip with special Rnd ft. Like dynamic Island.
With cool colour. My favourite product red of iPhone 14
Also less Basels
Great video @Dailytekk! Another interesting niche I read about is pilots, who love the small form factor of the iPad Mini!
Just did, got my earlier this week. So far no regrets!
64 GB base storage is a serious kick in the nuts to customers by Apple. Total joke in 2023.
It fits nicely in my purse. I always have it with me.
I absolutely love it with the apple pen. It's like a little notebook I always have with me + books, videos, all my notes, my calendar and everything I digitally need. :)
A mini pro would be awesome!
I’ve owned this for a couple of years now … and I STILL can’t get over the jelly scroll. It’s so distracting.
I have an iPad 5 GEN and I plan on upgrading to the mini. This is very helpful for if I want to get it.
Hoping for an M1 iPad Mini...
I got a mini for travelling - I have an 11” which I found a bit heavy when travelling. I wanted a device for backing up photos and surfing the net etc. I really liked it - and even when bit travelling I find I use it a lot in preference to my 11”
I mostly use this for flight training, perfect size for a small cockpit in a cessna or piper archer.
Considering all possible use cases, the 11 inch iPad makes the most sense. Mini too small, 12.9 inch too big
It can be a multitasking king if they bring stage manager or force apps to multitask like samsung
Or horizontal multitasking in portrait mode
Generally apple doesn't care about ipad mini
Is it worth it if I have an iPhone 14 Pro MAX?
Would kill for pro motion and better battery life, which I know it’s tough to have both together.
Had an iPad mini since iPad mini 3.. I am just hoping them to have the iPad mini 7 early next year.
Am I the only one that struggles to look at a lower resolution tablet after using my iPhone 15 pro max?? I wish it didn’t bother me so much bc I used to love the form factor of my iPad mini 2 😔
The screen is so laggy, compared to my iPad pro 3rd gen. Its honestly gives me a headache lookin at it.
That thing's like a quarter of the size of the tablet. I'm watching this on
If you’re concerned about the price you should in fact wait as opposed to buy. As soon as the new version comes out the price of the existing version will drop.
I bought the mini this year. I use it way more than I ever used the iPad Pro 12.9
I had the iPad mini 6 since it came out. I love it. The screen, brightness and power of the A15 chip is fine with me.don’t need any more.
I’m still over here rocking the iPad mini 4 😂. Unfortunately the battery life recently has shortened significantly and has me contemplating if I should buy a new one now or just wait for my 4 to completely die lol
my ipad mini arrived a few days ago. i love it so much!!
Really great device, but I sold it because everytime I used it I felt like I could use my iphone or my macbook air instead. It took me five years to come to the fact that I don't need a third device
Almost 2 years with it , the best iPad to buy
Day 2 of asking what keyboard you use
My iPad Pro is basically a desktop device. But the mini goes with me all the time. Love it for content creation.
I have ipad mini 5 wifi only.
I regret not taking the wifi+cellular one
I really want to purchase the iPad mini, tho knowing me luck with apple, I'm afraid that if I purchase it, they'll soon announce a new version of it, so I'm waiting as long as I can to see if they'll refresh the iPad mini soon.
I’ll probably wait till the seventh iPad mini comes out this September/October - I’ll be upgrading from my iPad mini 5
Android user here. I just bought the mini 6 and the pencil and i dont even know where to start😮
