@@phtevenjI don’t know… this is almost 10 years earlier. That one is funnier, but this one is a great introduction to Nightcrawler and interesting use of transportation power to show how he can take on an army of secret agents.
Magneto's comment about flying us an in-joke: Jean, Storm, and Rogue all fly in the comics. The scene with Bobby telling his parents he's a mutant was meant as a comming out as gay analogy...and pretty well done.
I once mentioned that scene and other parts of the films/comics that reflect LGBT issues to a homophobic "fan" of the X-Men. Their temper tantrum swearing off the franchise for its "agenda" was kind of funny.
@@brandonparisien2381 Rogue wasn't originally able to fly in the comics either. She only gained the ability to fly (and also super strength and some other powers) during an arc where she was in the Brotherhood of "Evil" Mutants and fought Captain Marvel, permanently absorbing her powers and memories.
X-Men: Evolution is a series really worth checking out and maybe even reacting too! There's even a great little story about why Nightcrawler has smoke appear when he jumps around.
26:00 Marie/Rogue's power is to absorb other people's powers. The longer she touches the person for, the longer she'll have their power for. Magneto is cool because he isn’t the traditional “villain”. His goals and Charles over lap, mainly the desire of peace and security for mutant kind. However, Magneto’s ideas on how to achieve that vastly differ from Charles. Charles is Martin Luther King, Magneto is Malcolm X. And yes Mystique is usually nudy rudy. Also in the comics Mystique is Nightcrawler’s mom.
Years ago, I have visited the real-life building which was referred to as the Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters in the movies - it's Toronto's majestic castle, Casa Loma. The hallway, underground tunnel, and classroom (maybe parts of the garden) scenes in X-men 1 & 2 were really at Casa Loma ... at least, that's what I was able to recognize from touring Casa Loma! 😁👍 cool experience‼
This movie is great, but I gotta say, if there's one thing that I like about reactions is how much they can add to this reexperience of something you already know. In that case, it added quite a few laughs lmao. You loosing yourself in that analogy was really funny.
Genuinely greatest comic book villain of all time IMO. Depth of backstory, moral complexity, fantastic performances on screen, awesome powers, interesting schemes, relatable motivations, he's got it ALL. Joker had one of the greatest performances ever by Heath Ledger, but as fun as he is, he doesn't have nearly the depth of Magneto. Don't even start with me about Thanos and his "durrrr let's kill half of everything then life will be great" asinine plan :P)
I was actually eight years old when the movie came out in theatres and I saw it on the big screen with my cousins and the three of us really enjoyed it. If you’re curious about the character Colossus, he has the power to turn his whole body into steel.
Nightcrawler is a fan favorite X-Men character, he's as famous as Beast and Wolverine. He's a master acrobat an expert swordsman, and as a romantic he's quite a hit with the ladies .... well, at least the ones who don't mind blue skin and sharp teeth! Man, mutants can be so cliquey! And Mystique is always wandering around naked, can change into any body type or anatomy she wishes... I assume she's got to be kinda freaky.
The Weapon X program in this movie is located in Alberta Canada (where Wolverine was when Rogue found him in the last one. Wolvie is from Canada and that is where his Adamantium skeleton happened.
The woman with Striker is Yuriko Oyhama, Lady Deathstrike. In the comics she dated Wolverine once. Her father was the man that came up with the process that Sriker used to bond the Admantium to his skeleton. In the comics she uses cyborgnetics to bond admantium to her. I thought it was brilliant to make her a mutant and give her the same abilities as Wolverine. It makes sense and is the best way to introduce her without using cyborg procedure to give her the claws. Her father is killed and Wolverine is framed for the murder. This is why she gets the procedure.
Glad to see you continue to have fun with the X-men movies. I hope this will be the case for most if not all of them. Just want to add that this is the first time I see you with what looks like a new hair style and color and I think you look lovely.
Correct, Mystique is not wearing clothes, because she can only change her body, not her clothing or other items she's carrying. So for example if she wore an X-Men uniform and changed into William Stryker, she would then be William Stryker in an ill-fitting X-Men uniform, which wouldn't be helpful for tricking anybody into thinking she's the real William Stryker.

Nightcrawler's power isn't just simple teleportation. He shifts to a different dimension briefly then returns to his destination. It's like walking to a different room using a hallway.

Emme x-men may be about mutants in America and around the world in the comics but it was a way for stan Lee and marvel comics to talk about racism in America during the Civil rights moment in 60's . Mutants represented black people in America and white people were the humans
Yes, Mystique is always nude. I don't believe her power allows her to alter the clothes, so anybody she shapeshifts into would be wearing the same outfit. By being nude she alters her skin to resemble clothing, even though it isn't. Same concept with super heroes who turn invisible. They turn themselves invisible but if their power doesn't include the clothing, then the power really only works if they take it all off. It's just one of those things you're not supposed to think about.
It's hands down the best live action X-Men movie. Mainly due to the Nightcrawler opening scene and Wolverine killing. Rebecca Romjn was the best actor in my opinion in the entire franchise. It is a pitty we never got a live action as good as the 90's cartoon was... or even a franchise following the comics. Instead we got ... what happens when a toad is struck by lightning...sums up my feelings as a whole of all the X-Men films.
Mutants can have kids. If Magneto wipes out all humans, then from that point on everyone is a mutant. Now nothing in that equation says there will be any more of a peaceful planet than the Earth has been, but as far as Magneto's goals are concerned, it's the optimum move. As for whether Magneto is right or not ... well, I think he's always right. But most people aren't going to agree. I mean, humans going to human.
Some of the FOX X-Men movies are pretty decent. Some are dumpster juice. But, if you want to see the true X-Men, your best bet is X-Men '97. It's brilliantly written and animated, and it's easily one of the best Marvel cartoons ever made. It's better than many of the MCU movies.
10:55 you are a RUclips reactor, of course your opinion matters! That's why your viewers watch your videos, we want to know what you think! 🤣And Storm *IS* cool!😁

Instead we got ... what happens when a toad is struck by lightning...sums up my feelings as a whole of all the X-Men films.
Snow peas??!?🤣🤣🤣
you might like the first couple of seasons of Heroes... then Heroes Reborn which only has one season...
One of the best superhero movies ever made, not as good as Tobey Maguire Spiderman 2, but right up there.
Armor guy is Colossus. He is Russian in the comics.
26:10 um excuse me what? 😂
These early X-Men movies go hard! 👀
0:53 Weeeell... X-men the comic when it came out 70-90 years ago was kind of a metaphor for racism
10:55 you are a RUclips reactor, of course your opinion matters! That's why your viewers watch your videos, we want to know what you think! 🤣And Storm *IS* cool!😁
