There's no seat without a seatbelt! Here is choe_fdm installing his new JEGS harness on his new JEGS seat! Check it out! 💯 bit.ly/3jWWpoZ #JEGS #racingharness #driftcar
Please please please do NOT bolt those to the floor. In an accident the harness will crush you inside the seat. It's the angle of pull. When you move forward, the harness pulls DOWN not back. The seat back isn't designed to support that vertical downward force They should be bolted slightly below the height of your shoulders. This way the harness stays tight when your body naturally curves forward and you essentially shrink in a frontal collision. The way you have them, you WILL shatter your collarbones and break your back after the force collapses the seat. This is stupid and there's the reason why harness bars are made.
Sounds like you know what you’re talking about! I am getting a mid size SUV and would like a harness due to recommendations by my osteopath who has been treating me for neck and shoulder issues for several years now due to the seatbelt causing injury in a car accident caused by a distracted driver. Curious how you might install something like this in a RAV4 or a Rogue?
@@Thepsychicstars That's difficult to say as many of those have airbags that make it difficult to not block. There are "universal" harness bars that connect using the bolt holes from the upper B-pillar, of the shoulder strap, on the stock 3 point seat belt. It's for a 4-point belt and thats probably the easiest way for you. you can use all the factory 3 point mount holes. The standard 3-point isn't necessarily bad. It doesn't supply even support but does the basic trick. If you want a better route, have someone fab you a custom harness bar.
@@Thepsychicstars Keep in mind, a harness is a pain in the ass when you have different people in and out. You're also going to have to hack the seatbelt sensors and weight sensors so the airbags will deploy correctly. I doubt a Rav4 or a Rogue have seatbelt length sensors that tell the airbag approximately how close you are to the steering wheel but, they exist. Something to keep in mind.
@@JoseAlvarez-il3iy Yes. The two shoulder straps should be bolted/wrapped to a harness bar. The bar should be horizontal and 2-4 inches (5-9cm) below the driver's shoulder line when in the seat.

You mean only the two straps that are in the shoulders? Sorry for my bad english

Shoulder straps need to mount no more than 20° downward. More than that... You'll crush your collar bones!
Wrong setup never bolt to the ground
