  • Hey everyone! Here's the next episode of Chordplay with The Chords Of Nazareth. Nazareth formed in Scotland in 1968, but it wasn't until their 1975 album 'Hair Of The Dog' that exploded and really helped put them and their music on the map. Two founding members of Nazareth sadly passed away last year, and I actually played in a band that opened for them way back in 1996, so this episode is long overdue and should be a fitting tribute to this legendary band - so let's dive in!
The chord-based/rhythm guitar ideas in this episode were pulled from three classic Nazareth albums, and include moments from rare tracks such as 'Changin' Times,' 'Witchdoctor Woman,' 'Hire And Fire,' 'Fat Man,' 'and 'Right Between The Eyes,' to name a few. While these are considered deep cuts and certainly fan favorites, there's no question that some of Nazareth's best music is rarely heard on the radio, and there are some great songs sprinkled everywhere in the 25 studio albums they're released since the early 1970s.
Needless to say, if you're a Nazareth fan, a fan of classic rock music/guitar, or maybe a player searching for some fresh rhythm ideas borrowed from a legendary and influential band - this lesson is totally for you! Give this episode a view, leave some comments/feedback, and please subscribe to Late Night Lessons - THANK YOU!
