- Not your typical approach into Newark airport. When the winds are higher than usual and/or out of the west you may get the opportunity to check this out personally. Here is the view from up front. If you like this video check out my Hyperlapse videos. Please like and subscribe, enjoy!!
I've seen this approach from the turnpike. Its really cool to see the planes come so close to the highway.
This is perfect. I've been waiting years for someone to upload this rare approach...guess I didn't search hard enough.
fanta A very rare approach.
lol. My dad has one of this approach flying a 777 I believe. He’s giving the FO the lowdown on how to shoot this approach. Basically let him hand fly it until close to the bridge. It’s on here somewhere. Not sure If he has it on private though
I love it! I was on the Turnpike going south, and was wondering if there was a video of a runway 29 landing! Awesome!
EXCELLENT! I live in the US but I was born in Sweden and, every year, we fly out of Newark on Scandinavian Airlines to visit the old country. When we come back to the US, we always land from the north. It's a very pretty approach! Thanks so much for the upload!! I subbed!!
Awesome! If you like this, check out and share my Hyperlapse videos.
Nice station pic!!😜😜
Niklas Enblom Runway is dictated by wind direction. West and southwest wind would necessitate a landing out of the north.
Thank you for this exhilarating video.
And the air there is just as breathtaking as the scenery...btw, nice video.
Cool video you flew right over my job at port Newark
For years I watched planes land on 2 9 from my high school seat (Marist Bayonne Nj) only on windy days.
By 4:00 you can see the Statue of Liberty on the left.
Beautiful! Thanks!
What a funky approach. But i love it
Cool video 👍 subscribed
To be on a bridge, with a Boeing or Airbus landing, to see that, must be an interesting awesome experience
Nice video....
Newark airport traffic sure does look a lot quieter in this video than it did when I was there last back in 1998.
Don't let this fool you, it's probably gotten worse.
I fly in and out of Newark airport regularly and I don't think I"ve ever taken off from Runway 11-29 and I think I only landed on that runway once in a United Express ERJ-145. Newark's two main runways are 4L-22R and 4R-22L and those two are almost in constant use seeing up to 60 landings and take-offs per hour during peak times.
I've flown 145's and DHC-8's into and out of Newark for for years, and I've taken off and landed from 11/29, mainly 29 numerous times. They will use the 22's/4's while using 29, often with LAHSO operations.
@@HeffeCafe1 I took off from 29 once. It's especially rare to do so on a mainline aircraft, but I did so on a Southwest 737-700.
Very nice video 👍
Very smooth. Great job
Think I also noticed the Jersey Gardens Mall ☝🏽
Wow! What a smooth landing. I bet those folks who happen to be under you on the highway feel like Maho Beachgoers. Lol
I bet it is a bit of a freaky sight.
ERRR yea its called the New Jersey Turnpike !
That was so cool, thanks.
Passing over Teterboro at 1:30.
Unable. We’ll be in the Hudson.
@@CruceEntertainment -- LOL..
Fantastic
Awesome !
Awesome!!
When the wind is wicked (Winter) all sorts of heavies land on 29. Not all do though.
AWESOME!!
Should be called the Pulaski Skyway approach because you turn final at the Pulaski Skyway
Actually that is I-78. The Pulaski Skyway is several miles to the north of that section of I-78.
@@Potterfamilias If you look at the two bridges one is NJTs Hoboken line EX EL the high truss bridge is the Pulaski Skyway I-78 starts at Newark Airport EWR
Stadium is the Meadowlands.
It would be better if the approach was named the Meadowlands Visual, unfortunately the FAA isn't that creative.
@@HeffeCafe1 -- Too Jersey Shore..
Scary
Was that a dash 8?
Yes it was.
Are you flying a Q-400?
That was a Q-200.
@@HeffeCafe1 That's awesome! Great video!
Butter that bread,
😂
even from the air, Xanadu looks like a shithole.
They call it "American Dream" now. It will always be Xanadu to me and it will always be a shithole.
Avery big haaaa.
👍
What aircraft?
UNITED38Heavy --- NY Planespotting It was Hillary Clinton on her broomstick.
Sounds like a Dash-8.
Yes, DHC-8.
DHC-8
WOW .I Dont think I would like that..way to close to the high ways and buildings...you would think we would build airports a few more miles away from crowded highways and places..
BTW GREAT VIDEO
EWR airport has probably been there longer than a lot of those highways and buildings.
I hate that approach with a passion.
Try doing it in a heavy jet -
Back in the late'90's, I was flying from San Juan PR to EWR on an American A-300. Turbulence was moderate to severe for the last hour of the flight, and very strong winds out of the west with stronger gusts caused us to go missed approach for 22L. Pilot came on the PA and said we would try once more, but if it he couldn't line up, we were diverting to BOS. On the next approach, he flew a standard 22L approach until we came over the Pulaski Skyway, and then executed a hard left 30 degree turn, and then an even harder 120 degree right turn, rolling out level just as we came over I-78. We took all of runway 29 to stop. After all of that, the pilot came back on the PA and announced "Welcome to Newark. And now for the most dangerous part of your day, you get to go home on the Jersey Turnpike."
We had the stadium visual today with a 787... there was a lot of reverse thrust used... lol
cant land heavys on 29 runway is too short..
@@michaelloder5150 I landed on it in a 787. They flew the stadium visual.
@@michaelloder5150 False.
