Super cool! The 777-224ER is my total favorite twin engine wide body airliner! I like the full length of 22 right takeoffs, the 777's create mini-earth quakes in the economy parking lot!
This is awesome! Since today it is not possible to visit the cockpit, it is only through those videos that we people can see how things go inside of it. Thanks for posting!
It's a CDA (constant descent approach) There is no land based signal, its an approach built into the FMS getting its updates through the GPSs. However the PFD displays are identical to flying an ILS, only the final approach course is a big sweeping/descending turn.
Really fantastic! It's interesting to see from the flight deck perspective. I posted on RUclips a 29 landing as a passenger on a 747. The captain greased it on like you did, even with a short runway.
Yes it is, nothing compared to our Naval aviators but they get arresting hooks :) Having 12 52" tires braking helps make this possible, you just have to make sure to touch down in the touchdown zone or go around.
Because it flys over the Meadowlands Sports Complex flightaware has a picture of the approach plate, I can't post a link here but also if you google newark stadium visual and click images it has the approach there.
@@eventtrading it literally isn't in NYC its closer to Newark NJ and Elizabeth than Manhatten, it's in New Jersey. It's not even the closet thing to Manhatten, that's like saying Bayonne, Kearny, Secaucus, Lyndhurt, Teterboro - and the teterboro airport, Jersey City etc are in NYC. Across the water of EWR is Bayonne which is in NJ not NYC.
@@frenchchicken2799 "The approaches to the NYC airports are spectacular. EWR JFK LGA." Where does it say they are located in New York? Time to stop being a little shit head troll and join the world.
It's been too long, but I checked wunderground and they said WSW 17G24. Not too bad at all but 29 was offered and we accepted it. It is a CDA approach in our FMS database.
ITS NOT NORMAL THAT a 777 lands on 29.. i would have not let that happen if i was a controller, but i guess there was heavy crosswinds at that time.... its usually 22r or 22 Left or 4r or 4L

Always fun driving by on the Turnpike when they come in on 29. Nice to see it from the pilot's perspective.
Great view of NY harbor. Just added this to my favorites. Uniterd 29 landed on 29.
Great video, runway 29 with a 777. Awesome!

Great images, Looks like New York was built on a swampy area, Plenty of water and rivers...
Great video. Driving the Dash 8 on the visual 29 is certainly a different beast than the 777, can't wait to be in your seat one day.
Love watching the planes land as I drive by on the turnpike. Flew out or Newark four times for business headed to Beijing. Love the 777.
Excellent video. The view was great, the engine background sound was pleasing, and the crew members on the flight deck were sharp.
Wow, the whole runway is painted with tire skid marks. The exit turn shown looks like a car racetrack exit with all those tire skids.
I agree. it looked like a good approach and touchdown the whole way.
I do hv land many times but my tires got burst fr 2 times. Amazing landing bro 😎

Nice approach Bergen County Jersey side Hudson River and over TEB. Go Jets.
Big plane small runway amazing
I agree, 29 is always an airshow from the terminal too :)
Dangerous approach. If you come in too low or lose engine power you'd crash into a bridge or the warehouses near the end of the runway.

Excellent! Super smooth...
Thank you sir

Very nice. Subscribed
NICE!!
I hate this runway because it is short and you have to get the wheels down on the ground as soon as you fly over the turnpike.
What makes this circling? I thought that was something different. Were you originally coming in to another runway?
Thanks for the post, this is the only 29 approach visual I have found on youtube. Great stuff. What were the crosswind kts?
Very nice approach sir
Please, more videos from the cockpit!
Excellent!! Was that a short final approach? It seemed like it to this layman's eyes.
The approaches to the NYC airports are spectacular. EWR JFK LGA
ewr isnt a nyc airport its located in newark/elizabeth nj
@@frenchchicken2799 I know exactly where it's located. It's closer, by far, to Manhattan than JFK. Only an ass would say it's not a NYC airport.

Nice job... try this approach on FS9 with no side vision. A real bear!
Look at the plane coming in on runway at 11:14 - 11:27 right before this plane takes a right!
at about 4:40 you can see the Meadowlands
CaptainDucman777 I looked and didn't see it. Would it be on the left or the right at 4:40?
Isn't it at 4:46 on the right?
Do they still use a glideslope when using this approach?
its displayed on the PFD as a glideslope but it has no ground based signal, merely built in the FMS.

Michael, the 29 airshow is only when the winds are more favorable for 29 than the 22s.
It’s def not the norm but not a problem when we have to do it.
Michael Loder, calm down Karen!!!
Autobrake MAX ?? Lol
