Hell yeah, 757s aren’t done yet
Only flew on one once many years ago from Chicago to Orlando through a snowstorm and heavy turbulence
ive always liked flying on them.
My last time was on America West from Phoenix to Vegas in first class 😂. It was a $50 upgrade
Yup however I think United and delta are the only airlines here in the us that flies them still. They’re getting old :(
I remember when Us airways had a ton of them
Delta is going to retire there b757 by 2030
The muscle cars of the airline world
Nah, These are the Race cars, muscle cars are more beefy, like a 777
I feel hypnotized watching that little spinning thing on the blades for 20 minutes.
look into the turbine….you are getting very sleeeeeppppyyyyyyyy
You're now in....the Twilight Zone...
btw thats a spiral added so that birds can see and fly away from it, its not a 100% protection but still helps in bird strikes
It is actually really added to let the ground workers know the engine is on. This way they don’t get sucked in to the engines
My dad flew 757/767 and we flew all over as kids and I certainly did not appreciate it the way I do now. Seldom fly these days and it's usually crammed into the back of an A320 or 737. Gone are the glory days of meals served on real plates with real silverware and half full flights.
Me too..Kids rode a lot
And the passengers took pride in their experience dressing like people.
It used to be more civilized. Now a days women dress on the airports like Cardi B. And guys dress with board shorts and rash guard shirts. Hay Dios mío. It’s game on.
I rode a 757 outa Newark. It was awesome. The pilot climbed quite steeply, and when he leveled out, he cut the engines, and I just about floated outa my seat.
Im a ramp lead for united stationed in ewr and i pushed that flight out looks interesting from a passengers perspective
wow
This plane should have never been discontinued. B737 will never touch the majesty of this aircraft.
The B737 was still one of the most produced commercial airplane in the entire world.
@matthewtownsend2368 isn't that the truth.
You are right. Nothing ever will. I hope they will come back as a more modern aircraft in the future. Hopefully the 797 will be based on these.
Neither do the doors fall off. Yep, the 757 is Boeing's hot rod, sporting a better thrust/weight ratio than most other commercial airliners.
that buzzsaw on the take-off roll is like music to my ears!
100% I couldn’t agree with you more
@@williampliss9879q
The buzzing is the fan blades going supersonic.
N57111 (plane featured here) was the test aircraft for the original 757 winglets. It was owned by CO before they merged with UA. It eventually got modified with scimitar winglets which the whole CO/UA fleet of 752s and 753s all now have. They are all equipped with R/R RB-211 engines which make for a much liked combination of aircraft & engines. Their pilots call these aircraft "hot rods." They make a loud high pitched wail unlike any other engine.
757’s are the baddest passenger jets ever!
Took the mighty 757 from Portland to Chicago multiple times back in the day...what a beast!
What an absolute BEAST the 757 is. Love it.
Beautiful Sound from the RB-211!
Rolls Royce hum for sure right there. Can't wait to see how they are on the repowered B-52s
Beautiful bueing 757 plane with magnificent engines!!! Love that sound
An awesome sound to ear!!!😍
Loved that take off and sound of power
What a great airplane. I love flying on them
❤
My grandfather was one of the chief engineers at Boeing back in the day. He was responsible for overseeing the design of the engine pylons on the 757. To this day I’ll never get over how overpowered this bird is! Such a pleasure to fly on with the bonus of the RB-211’s roar!
My brother-in-law is a pilot for Alaska Airlines.
I keep trying to get him to leave the cabin mike open and, just as they start down the runway for takeoff say, "Punch it, Chewy!", but he won't do it..😉
This is a HUGE reason to fly with the legacy airlines if you’re an aviation geek (and can afford the extra $$). There are still these odd little routes that fly *legendary* aircraft completely out of left field. When I was a kid in the 90s, I went to visit my grandparents in Florida and flew on a DC-10 during the first leg from Boston to Detroit…a DC-10! I’m glad there are corners of the aviation world where some reasonable facsimile of that experience still exists.
Agreed! United flies the 757 on even shorter routes like EWR > IAD
The legendary "DC-10", gone the way of the "Doh-Doh Bird". The passenger versions were mothballed some years ago and the remaining cargo variants flown by FedEx and some foreign companies as DC-10S and MD-11s will come to an end in the near future. No spare parts being produced and the parent company Boeing destroyed all of the blueprints after acquiring Douglas Aircraft in the hopes of selling more Boeing jets.
I got upgraded to first class in a TWA L-1011 between STL and EWR!
757 is an awesome plane. Love flying them!
Such an overpowered beast!!!
Thank capt and first officer crew members, passengers and staff.
Hell ye 757s got so much power.
Love the engine roar. Love the B757 great plane airliner.
This is like the '68 Camaro of passenger jets. Its so exciting
Love the 757!
The 757 was always my favorite narrow body aircraft to fly on. Everything just seemed effortless for that plane and those engines. Someone called them the muscle car of commercial aircraft and I believe it! The only full size airliner that could press me securely back in my seat at takeoff. I will miss them when they are gone.
Thank you for sharing a grest aircraft! I miss flying on them. Doing the Los Angeles to Lihue Kauai, Hawaii is soo nice!! And flying transcontinentals Los Angeles to New York.😊
Yes, the 757s with the winglets came from the merger with former old Continental Airlines.😊 And those 757-300s came from Continental as well.😊
Great job...thanks for the 757 experience!!!
Thank you for this .I love that takeoff i love the feeling when the plane is taking off
There's something very comforting about the sound of these mighty turbines. Like pink noise for the soul.
So hard to find these days, but always a smile when I end up on one. They were so over-engineered rocket ships.
*GREAT FOOTAGE!* Thanks for sharing.
Glorious sounds
Perfection!!!! ❤❤
Beautiful video ❤
Engine view 😍
Excellent video clip of UA 757 take off out of Newark
Never gets old!!!!
Snow and sun. Great backdrop for a 757 at EWR
Wow that flight is so 👍
Beautiful takeoff, enjoyed it!
Thank You, enjoyed the sound of American Freedom!
that might be some of the best thrust reduction ive ever heard!
Man do I miss the 757
i love the engine roar 15:38
Those rocket style takeoffs are typical in Orange County (John Wayne). Since there's neighborhoods close to the runway, there is an ordinance for planes to gun their engines with the brakes on so they can take off fast, short, and climb real high quickly to a certain altitude coasting over the residences until it passes over the ocean then continues the climb which lessens the overall plane noise pollution.
Absolutly awsome video. The sound of the RBs is great and they did a lot trust changes, this makes it even better. :-)
Met Life (Giants/Jets) Stadium at 18:46. The racetrack right next to it and the old Meadowlands Arena in front of it.
Merci pour ces merveilleuses images 👍
I'll never forget the 757 when I flew out of Gibraltar a couple of times (Monarch Airlines) back in the day! The engine spool-up held on the brakes and then the insane acceleration down the runway was just glorious - but the climb out was something else!
One of my mates is a 777 FO with BA and she has said that if BA still operated the 757 that it would have been her first choice of ops. She often crews with ex 757/767 Captains and they all miss the 752 massively.
Hoping to get on a Jet2 flight at some point soon before they are replaced by the A321 - which is a great replacement, but just not really comparible to the 757 in my opinion!
Beautiful view of downtown Newark!
Hahahahaha…… I could smell it from here, yummmmm
Love me some 757
great video, 👌 👏 👍
I always liked the 757s. It's always bumpy going in or out of Newark.
Really nice view of Red Bull Stadium (soccer stadium in Harrison, NJ) at 17:13. It's where the New York Red Bulls play.
757 best commercial plane ever!
As an Australian it’s a real shame we don’t have those to fly!
United isn't doing so well lately based on the recent aircraft incidents. Good that you made it safe.
Terrific plane & engine combo. I believe the RR RB211 535E4 on the B757 holds the world record for uninterrupted time-on-wing endurance. These engines were ultra reliable, more so than the latest up to date turbines which cannot match the same duration in the persuit to push the bounderies of ever better fuel consumption & performance. The latest turbines are still marvels of engineering but one could argue the RB211 535 was of particular note.
I fueled these bad ass planes . I love this aircraft!
the taxiing is so fast lol
Easily my favorite of all time. Its too bad Boeing discontinued the 75 several years ago. Looking forward to the 79! 👍
Hi, I have a GoPro. I am wanting to use it for flight videos trying to figure out what mount I can use to get stable videos for in flight?
And put it on the window
Flying Is Cool
Safe travels
Funny how a United 757's engine failed the other day on a flight from HNL to SFO
What settings do you record with on your iphone?
At 19:42 in the lower right corner is the Glenpointe Marriott Hotel complex in Teaneck NJ. I can see it from my house.
I saw the apartment I used to live in!
I really wanna ride on a 757
Western Oregon here and I'm amazed at the density of the whole area. (reason for all the jokes about NJ?) The wings flexing got me a bit queasy.
Huge line up traffic
cool stuff seb,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,757 is the best boeing model.........sadly they decided not to MAX it
I gotta fly a UA 757 just to hear the RB211s one last time, unfortunately my last flight on a BA 747 was over the wing and the engine roar was muffled
That’s a long a$$ pushback 😳
The hum of a Rolls Royce engine I know that sound well!!!!
Do the United ones have IFE
Yeah I miss flying that rocket.
757❤
Love that sound.....hate that location
hello from KPNS
The B757 with RR RB-211 roaring still though
I really needed 20 minutes to fully appreciate a "rocket takeoff."
is that auto throttle?
767-300 F amerijet is cool 😎
Pencil 757 is super aircraft
FOD right under the plane @ 3:23. Hopefully that was picked up.
Wow 757 EWR-BOS thought they ran just commuter planes I.e. Embraer 190's
Agreed... such a short flight for such a big aircraft... maybe it was for repositioning.
@@matthewfunk734Boston, Newark, Washington Dulles and O’Hare are the largest United hubs. I even saw 777’s, 767’s and 787’s on this route.
Nothing fell off..? I’m shocked;-)!
Nice video what kind of camera?
Check description
What part is rocket? It's a completely normal takeoff.
RB21 is an old engine which had a difficult birth bankrupting Rolls Royce but how it has grown into the best engine evEr invented and its child the trent engine,BEST OF BRITISH
And that wasn’t even close to full power gotta love the 757s🫡
Of course it was.
This aircraft (N57111) suffered damage to its slats in flight from San Francisco to Boston on February 19th. It was diverted to Denver and has been grounded ever since.
Scheduled to fly on a 752 EWR- PBI in less than a month 🎉
My beef with flying is the long, long taxi to the runway.
But I guess it can’t be helped.😢
Make sure the tires are tight and no loose bolts around the doors
I have to admit - I'm terrified just watching this.
Volkswagen Golf GT of the skies 😂
